Absolutely gorgeous space. The design of the restaurant and bar is impressive, and the entirely open kitchen concept is really stunning. I’ve seen a lot of open kitchens in my day but the total and seamless immersion of the kitchen into the dining space is next level.
Staff were extremely warm and helpful. Everyone we interacted with had an aura of hospitality to them that was at once warm and genuine and polished. Really impressive level of attention to detail and professionalism.
We started with cocktails and oysters out on the patio, with a beautiful view of the property. Both of our drinks were big hits, though mine - a dusky hued concoction featuring mezcal and creme de violette called the Songbird - was a standout.
The theme of indulgence carried over into dinner, where we enjoyed a variety of delightful plates, including the steak tartare with bone marrow toast, fresh ricotta gnocchi with morels and white asparagus, and a fantastic and vibrant spring pea soup with shaved truffle and coppa, all of which was delicious and well executed.
For our main course I enjoyed the salmon which was perfectly cooked and topped with the fantastic element of a crispy brioche wafer that added richness and texture, while my partner enjoyed a special dish comprised of roast quail and seared scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented, with flavors and textures in balance and engaging.
We lacked the fortitude to explore the drink selections with as much depth as we would have liked, but we enjoyed another set of fantastic cocktails. Here my partner’s- a clarified milk punch with coconut and orgeat - was the standout. As the mains arrived we had a pour of a flinty and kinetic yet generous 1er Cru Vaillons.
Top to bottom the experience was great. Jason, Petra, and Scott have crafted a beautiful culinary, wine, and bar program respectively. Highly recommend!
Montage is very new. Staff is a little cold and feels like they haven't found their rhythm. Drinks didn't show up, dinner items before cocktail and some gristle in my ahi. Certainly they will need to sharpen their game, but the grounds, setting, arrival sequence is spectacular.
Loved the ambience.
Menu is limited for lunch but we found a few winners. The charcuterie platter included 5 different meats and a small olive and mustard add. The Cobb salad and chicken was tasty with the green goddess dressing. There were a number of large ends of the baby romaine (the white core of the salad that really isn’t edible) but we worked around them. The salad was crunchy and soft - excellent overall. Also had the steak frites. Both were very good especially the bernaise sauce which was excellent. Steak perfectly cooked. Fries were not and crisp. Service overall was exceptional although the restaurant didn’t “record” my open table reservation for some reason despite checking in.
The view is wonderful at this tucked away new resort. Very classy inside with great use of colors and wood. This place will do well! Anxious to come back during dinner.
Prices were definitely on the high side. The lunch meal described above with sparkling water and an Arnold Palmer (so note, no alcohol) was $112 plus tax.
We tried out Hazel Hill at Montage for Easter dinner and it was great! The service was incredible, everyone was on point and very professional but they also kept it fun and playful with me and my guests. We also enjoyed the food a bunch! Presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. We can’t wait to go back and try more of their wonderful dishes!
The newly opened Montage Resort is stunning and Hazel Hill Restaurant is perfection. Great outdoor dining atmosphere, beautiful views, impeccable service, delicious food. We will definitely be returning!
The ambiance is perfect with a beautiful view of Mount St Helena. Staff was friendly and kind. Expensive but worth treating yourself
This is a nice place but the food was mediocre and the wine was very expensive. Really wanted to like it but will probably not return. The people were nice.
Engaging server (Lisa); good salmon preparation; reasonable 4 star two patty burger; excellent desserts (lemon tart and creme brûlée). Very scenic restaurant and part of new resort Montage. On the expensive side but it was lunch for our anniversary and very enjoyable.
Beautiful property, excellent food, and great service. It is pricey, but the food was worth it, will go back against.
The service was (as we predicted) exemplary from a Montage property...not a spoon or fork missing with each course that came our way. The view was gorgeous (helped that there was a full moon that rose up behind the mountain), and we were able to walk around a bit. Check out "underneath" the dining area where there is additional space and a bocce ball court. Took our best friends from NY while in town and they commented Hazel Hill rivaled anything in NY on food and service.
Looking forward to enjoying again soon.
Incredible staff food and drinks couldn’t ask for more
Wonderful view and atmosphere on the deck. The food and wine selections were outstanding. I haven’t had service like that since I was at the original commanders palace in New Orleans. An absolute orchestra - well conducted. We will be back once a month for a special date night. We have already booked the next 2.
Our first visit to dine at Hazel Hill at the Montage Resort. The food and service were excellent. The setting on the patio was very nice and will only get better as the landscape matures. It's expensive but on a par with other luxury hotel dining.
Amazing! Number 1 resort in Napa & Sonoma.
Beautiful property and restaurant..."curated" for your "wine country experience" if that's what you're looking for.
We live and dine in wine country and it delivered as you would expect Montage to deliver with $1000/night room, plus $60 resort fee for pool, gym, etc and lunch around $150/couple. If you're ok for paying close to $30 for a burger and $20+ for a drink; it is excellent!!
Just word of caution for any "wine-tasting" newbies who come to California for the 1st time looking for just some laid back fun with friends on a budget.
Beautiful spot with a great view. Service was excellent and food terrific. Always treated like a special guest!!
Wonderful service, outstanding food, beautiful property! Will be back as much as possible!
We had a very good experience with excellent service and great food.
Super location. Great service. Perfectly prepared food!
Food was earth shattering good and the saffron pasta was the best I’ve ever eaten
Brand new place in North Healdsburg at the new luxury hotel, the Montage. The bar and restaurant setting is both restful and beautiful, both indoors and out. Staff were great and food was delicious. Menu is a bit unusual, somewhat small, but lots of vegetarian/vegan options and every single item was scrumptious. Wine list was expensive, as expected, but nice selection. We'll be going again!
It was an over-the-top dining experience! We’ll be back for sure.
Great setting. Food was good. Service was very good.
This is our 3rd time to Hazel Hill. Although we love the space the food continues to disappoint and be over priced. Salmon now 3 different ways, smaller and smaller pieces, extremely limited menu, fussy sommelier/huffy attitude to locals in the wine biz!
We had such an incredible time! The outdoor space is just amazing and so relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful spot with views to die for. Give yourself an afternoon and stay for a post brunch cocktail, or get here early for dinner and take in the amazing views with a glass of local wine. We will be back again and again!
Hazel Hill was a lovely spot with a limited but adequate delicious menu, service was welcoming and attentive, and the bar was a perfect spot for an after dinner night cap. We can not wait for our next visit!
We sat outside and the weather was nice and warm and the views were amazing.
Great setting, perfect service and good food. What more doe you want?
Great cocktails as well. Must go place I. Healdsburg
Lovely setting and good food. I did pay $26 for a burger but it was good. Would go again for lunch, maybe try something different
This was our first time at Hazel Hill. We wanted to try it before it gets so popular we won't be able to get a reservation. It is so beautiful and peaceful. The waitstaff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. There must have been a glitch in the kitchen as our order (one salad, 2 entrees) took much longer than the tables around us that had larger parties. To make up for the wait we were presented with a delicious complimentary appetizer. We were in no rush as the scenery and evening was so beautiful. Mu husband said that the lamb shank was the best he's even eaten.
Thank you to Rafael for his expert recommendations! We loved every bite. The French onion en croute is a must and I'm still dreaming about the vanilla bean creme brulee.
New, beautiful and so professional. We had looked forward to trying the new restaurant and were not disappointed. Even though it was raining, cold and open, the staff accommodated us to a second slightly more sheltered table. Chef came by and was very welcoming and his food was excellent. Flavors were multi layered and served at perfect temperature. Although not close, we will find a way to return.
Beautiful venue with delicious food & wonderful service. Can’t wait to go back!
Another great experience at this lovely restaurant.
It was a really lovely experience. Beautiful view, will definitely be back. Great wine selection, the fight like a girl cocktail is fantastic, and the service is definitely impeccable.
We came with high hopes and wanted to love it (the food). Service was exceptional, Bryan our lunchtime server. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with the food and won't be rushing back until the chef can address what's missing. The cobb salad lacked key ingredients, we had to ask... the fusili (V) was great but why the flute mushrooms and crunch, very distracting. The dish can sand alone, don't complicate it. The cauliflower soup lacked flavor, texture and dimension. Additional cost for bread, why? That added insult to injury. We did love the view and the outdoor fireplaces, but the food experience left us wanting. Interesting no one asked our opinion while we were there (server excluded)... if I were the chef I'd be curious at a minimum.
A must for anyone coming to wine country , gorgeous
