The prime rib was not tender and even the manager said it was not worth the money.
Probably wont be back
First time, good Texas style place will return
I really wanted to like the restaurant, because I am a big fan of the restaurant group (Front Burner) and Haywire's sibling restaurant The Ranch at Las Colinas, but... The music was so loud we could barely hear the server (she said she would have it turned down, but the decibel level never changed). Since it was our first visit, she was raving about the steaks, so we took her suggestion. Our "medium rare" filets arrived with a cold, hard purple center--more raw than rare. When the steaks returned there was no discernible difference in either of them, other than they seemed crustier on the outside (still ugly purple inside). My wife asked if she could have a "different" 6 oz filet instead of the kitchen attempting to save the poor, overwrought (by this time), piece of beef. Since our companions seemed to be enjoying their food while we waited for our steaks, I opted for another choice since I was having no luck with a "signature" steak. My chicken breast was cooked (maybe a bit too much), but it was so salty (from brining I suppose) that it was somewhat unpleasant. My wife's new filet was closer to medium rare, but not very flavorful. Our companions seemed to enjoy her chicken dish and his chicken fried steak (although I'm not sure what they would write if they were paying). The Mac'n Cheese side was a big hit-unfortunately the best item we had. My asparagus side was barely cooked. I can't figure out why the kitchen had such a tough time getting the food right. We were in early, and the second level was nowhere near capacity, so I can't imagine the kitchen was slammed. Maybe something went "haywire" on this particular evening. The server was courteous, but somewhat blasé about the steak parade and our inability to hear much of what she said. We were celebrating a birthday in the group, and she was kind enough to bring out a bread pudding for the table to share. The glass container it was in was almost too hot to handle. Ouch!
The food was awesome and the drinks were outstanding. Shelby was an awesome waitress, too. Highly recommend all around!!!
Food was ok. Service was moderate, not great. Smoked prime rib was disappointing. Did not have much flavor and was really fatty
The restaurant is nice, great service and staff, amazing food and drink. We sat on the second floor, close to the patio. Nice at first, and then a concert started at the amphitheater below the patio so it was hard to hear the remainder of our time. Only issue. Everything and everyone else was 5-star.
It's no different than Whiskey Cake or The Ranch in Las Colinas. If they're going to re-brand these restaurants, then have so creativity between them. But it's all the same.
Excellent cocktails. Food was just okay, but overpriced for what it was. Despite the fact that we had a team of 3 servers assigned to our table, the service, though courteous, was terrible.
Shrimp Louis salad was not that great.
Amazingly delicious pork chop and drinks. Below average service from waiter - he was friendly but there were long absences and we had to aak for him to order multiple times
One person's steak was way over-cooked. We sent it back and a new one was delivered that was absolutely rare. (We ordered medium.) We sent that one back twice before finally deciding to give up. (A total of 4 times.) The side was not refreshed and by now was cold. To make this even more incredible. they indicated that we should pay for an extra steak because they had to start over. After complaining, they comped the steaks for that person but we left with a very bad taste in our mouth (literally). We would not recommend this place for a nice meal.
The overall experience was very good. We were not rushed. Service was excellent. My only comment is reserved for the noisy kids that were directly behind us. Wish we had been seated in a different location, otherwise a great evening on Mother’s Day.
First time visit. My wife's steak went back 3 times and still wasn't cooked correctly. The manager delivered it the second time and it was obvious that it wasn't well done. My son's steak had to be sent back. On the second time they still overcooked the steak he asked to be medium rare. My prime rib had no au jus and was dry. The waiter was very slow and not energized at all. The manager acted like he cared, he offered to remove the steaks from the bill. When the bill was presented the steaks were still on the bill. The restaurant was only about 60% full on Mother's day at 6pm. I understand sometimes things are not perfect, but this was a situation of everything was touched by poor execution. For the prices her I would expect much better service. I have had better food and much better service at many less expensive restaurants.
The buffet for Mother's Day was excellent. There was a good variety of food to satisfy a variety of tastes. The food was well cooked and seasoned. My one complaint is that I thought that the drinks should have been included in the cost of the buffet - at least one drink.
We love Haywire and when I made the reservations for Mothers day, I did so solely because it was NOT a brunch buffet, as that was not stated anywhere when I made the reservation. Food was good as always, but at $45 per person, you would expect a few mimosa's and perhaps an Omlette station, or something. I've been to very similar brunch buffets where you get more for the money.
Again, we love the restaurant, but just were not crazy about brunch and wish there was a menu to order from. We had already looked at the menu and decided what we were going to order before finding out it was a buffet when we arrived.
I loved the look and feel of the place. Our waiter was attentive and nice. The food was delicious. The only problem is we had reservations for mothers day and had to wait 15 minutes for our table to be ready, while people with no reservations were being seated before us.
Overall it was a good experience. The line for the breakfast bar was a bit long and some of the offerings were not as good as I had hoped. The service was excellent and the mood was good, especially at such a busy time and day. Overall I would go back for a special occasion like this again but probably try do a less busy time of day.
Mother’s Day brunch.
I love this place! Excellent Food, Excellent Service...a total package! A little pricy but well worth it!
Too crowded on Mothers day. Flow of brunch was not good. People wrapped around hostess stand waiting in line for buffet.
Mother’s Day brunch was great. The food options were very extensive with multiple stations including breakfast, mains (chicken fried steak, etc), salads, carving station and seafood. There was also a mimosa/Bloody Mary Station. Only issue, and it was fairly minor, was long line for the breakfast station that formed right beside the hostess station. For a first try at Mother’s Day brunch it was very nice.
Mother’s Day brunch & was looking forward to the shrimp. They were huge but watery & no taste- so disappointing. Also at $46 each coffee & tea should be included. Guess I should have read the fine print. The red rose after brunch was a nice touch & our server was very efficient but there really wasn’t much she had to do but takes our plates.
The waiter was very slow. Had to get another service member to help.
It was okay. I will give it another shot, but I expected more. The server was okay not great. We were their for lunch and had to ask for olive/lime/celery with our bloody mary's. There was four of us. Two loved their dishes. One said it was good. The other didn't like at all.
Noisy place, ribs were cold , steak was not cooked as directed by the customer and had to wait significant amount of time for the check. Taste did not match the flavor and taste.
Fantastic selection of Scotch!! Steak was great as was the Red Snapper.. also their version of Carrot Cake was rich and decadent!! Service was great as well!! Great experience!!
You need to get more attentive bar service.
My experience has always been great with Haywire, the only reason I wont give a full 5 star review is that my reservation this time was for outdoor seating and when we showed up, I overhead a hostess telling someone else that patio had been bought out by someone. Yet they never told me that and just proceeded to sit me inside. I have no problem with eating inside but there may be people in the future that are adament on sitting outside where they set a reservation. so I would have at least liked someone to just briefly explain to me why we were not sat outside.
Nice dinner for date night. Friendly staff. Not the most expensive, not the cheapest.
Made a reservation a week in advance and they tried to give us a horrible high too table. Then when we asked for an open booth, we were made to wait standing in the dining room for a long time. Retaliation is not cool.
Brad, our server, was attentive. We had a great experience with him. The food and ambiance was great. Try the onion rings! My husband had the prime rib steak and couldn't get enough of the radish sauce. I highly recommened this place.
Food was great. Loved the ambiance. Great service.
Meat loaf and fish dish were very good and salad ingredients were very fresh.
We were there to celebrate for our co-worker's birthday. This is our first time to try this restaurant. We did not order our desert but we got a whisky bread pudding and was very good. I never had a whisky bread pudding before but it was very yummy.
Loved everything about this place! The mimosas at brunch the pancakes were killer and so were the elk tacos and queso!
Everything was great and will be back again very soon!
First, prime rib should never be overcooked. Even a little.
Also, it seems that they have some kinks to smooth out in this upstairs/downstairs business as we were relayed to the bar "upstairs" for our drinks. We then went down the stairs to see if our requested table was available. Immediately, the hostess told us to go back up the stairs to be seated. LOL!
The food and service were outstanding and the restaurant ambiance is really nice. The prices are high but the overall experience exceeded expectations.
Really cool restaurant with 3 floors and wonderful Patio seating!
It was great as always, the waiter was very attending and kind!
