I requested a sexy table and the made sure to provide such accommodations. Perfect setting, great food and service
Great menu. Limited choices but well done in all respects. Comfort food with a lighter side as well. In short just a great place, great service, great experience.
Always a good spot for a lively dinner in a great environment. Food and service was good.
Table was setup in a room right by the hostess stand that felt more like a banquet room ... Our table was way out in the open ... Kinda awkward. The appetizers (sampler) and the sides (bsprouts) were really good. The steaks were both cold ... Basically room temp. The prime rib wasn't smokey as promoted ... Definitely needed the au jus to make flavorful. Service was all good.
This was our third time and the food seems to get better each time. Because it is a little pricey, Haywire remains our go-to place for special occasions.
Haywire is my favorite restaurant for sure! I love the ambiance, food, service, and the professional friendly staff. Management is amazing. Highly recommend!!
This isn’t my first time here-but each time I go it seems to be worse. Service is really bad. Hostess on the first level was very rude and not much of a host at all. The was really good at first and now it’s just so so. Not much to brag about here except the building itself is really nice
Delicious! I had the chili-rubbed snapper - it came with a orzo spinach side, and was prepared perfectly. I also appreciated that the fish was served piping hot. My beloved had the redfish, which was beautifully presented (other diners turned to check it out, as it was stunning!). We also enjoyed the wedge salad (yum) and the spicy tortilla soup (can’t wait to go back and get a bigger bowl of that!). All in all, a great meal in a wonderful venue.
Last minute decision to dine here and they were great about accommodating us even though it was busy and we did not have a reservation. Service was great. Will definitely go back.
Impressive selection of whiskey. Great meatloaf and steak! The bread pudding dessert is a must try!
Great birthday meal. Service was excellent. You can NEVER go wrong eating here!
We loved it and can’t wait to go back!! Lump crab dip is amazing and so was the carrot cake!! And everything in between!
The venison chili is absolutely delicious and their signature whiskey cocktails are delectable. I am not a whiskey drinker, but these are top notch!
The service was really really slow but the ambiance and food made up for it.
Every food from kids to adult is amazing! Just with they had the Pecan Porter on tap more often!
Love haywire! Amazing ambience, food , and service.quickly became my fave :)
I had the red snapper. It was delicious. Waitress was attentive and we always had full drinks. Elk tacos we good. Loved the sausage on the cheese board. Someone in my party didn’t want their Mac & Cheese so I devoured it. He didn’t know what he was missing. His loss was my gain. Very timely service during Friday peak lunch hours. Very happy with the overall experience.
So great. I love this spot! The ambiance and the food are amazing! Highly recommend this place !
The Brussels were very spicy, but otherwise everything was great!
This was our second visit to Haywire and our experience was not memorable. It was our 15th anniversary and after waiting twenty minutes for an over-priced cocktail downstairs, we were seated only to learn that there was no more chicken at 7:00 PM. The service was less than adequate as we waited for our drinks, had to request water refills, and felt burdensome. I can’t recommend Haywire. I won’t return to Haywire and I wish we would’ve celebrated our anniversary somewhere or anywhere else.
First time for a couple out of town business friends. They enjoyed the Texas cuisine.
It is my new Go To place. We could hear each, which was the biggest plus. The service, and attention we received was awesome. And the food was terrific. Also, very happy to 6oz. Beef selections.
Great Place to eat! Nice Atmosphere! Had the Cowboy Ribeye and it melted in my mouth. You can't go wrong here folks! Step up to the rooftop bar and finish with a nice cocktail and a Macanudo. You Deserve it!
Disappointing. Appetizers (fried oysters, cornbread & cup of chili) were good but main dishes (red snapper and prime rib) were bad. Service made it worst! It’s either he didn’t want to serve us or he didn’t want to be there.
I went there to watch the Super Bowl but had my kids with me (6yo and 8yo) and so did not want to be down in the Box Garden with everyone drinking but wanted to watch the game (married to a huge Patriots fan!). Made reservations on Open Table for 5:30pm kick off time and then called to request table outdoors on patio with views of the Jumbo Tron and they informed me there were TVs throughout the restaurant. And, boy, were they right. TVs everywhere! Perfect seating, perfect view of the Box Garden but also the TV right on the patio. Food was good but I am vegetarian, and so dinner menu very limited. Had a lot of fried food- Onion rings, Fried green tomatoes, chips and queso. Wish they had more veggie options - but the food was still very good! They have a kids menu which is definitely always a plus!
Don't go without a reservation even if the host tells you it is easy to get a table on the first floor, wait will be minimal, and, of course, you should come without a reservation. We could not get in. We did make a reservation for much later in the night and enjoyed drinks and appetizers. The food and drinks were delicious.
Atmosphere is fantastic. Food was pretty good too. Great service. Loved the elk tacos!
Good food, good service. Very high energy with noise level as expected. Only disappoint is the drink pricing is just over the top. Charging $18 for a shot from a $49 bottle of bourbon 😞. Just so typical when dining out nowadays.
Cool place. Great food. Nice ambiance. But the service was pretty bad...especially for the $. Constant interruptions and rushing our group through the evening. Maybe just a bad night.
super trendy spot with a great selection of drinks. food was EXCELLENT. it’s neat to see a restaurant source ingredients locally. will definitely visit again.
Great restaurant for the first date I had there.
I've been to Haywire twice now, one for a work dinner and one for an anniversary dinner with my husband. Downstairs is the bar and great for a quiet drink before or after dinner. Good cocktail and wine selection. Upstairs is the main restaurant, it is a loud and bustling atmosphere. I would say it's perfect for 2-4 people although there were larger groups there. It may be difficult to hear people sitting far from you. The food is a creative take on southern comfort food, very fun and tasty! I've had the steak and it's excellent. The chicken fried steak is also wonderful. The sides are amazing, so be sure you save room to order a couple of family style sides to your meal! Overall, would definitely visit again but save for an occasion. PS. the carrot cake was amazing
We had visitors from Colorado so we wanted them to experience a unique Texas restaurant. Everybody enjoyed the signature cocktails and the food
Brunch reservations for a birthday celebration. Enjoyed it very much! Will definately be back.
Room had loud music, food delivered cold. Was sent back. Came. Ack barely warm. Hamburger not fit to eat. Picked up my food before I was finished. Haywire is usually good. This was disappointing
Recently went to Haywire with my girlfriend on a Saturday night. Ambiance was great and I loved the decor. It was quite noisy inside so it wouldn’t be ideal for a romantic night out, however, it’s great for a night out with friends or a birthday dinner. There is an extensive food selection with decent serving sizes. I felt some of the items were a tad bit overpriced such as the $22 Hennessy on the rocks. Overall I had a good experience and would definitely go again.
My friends loved it. My second time here, this time with guests from out of town. We had the Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye which was excellent. They offered to cut it up so we could share it (along with the garlic stuffed filet). Probably the best dinner and outing that I've had since moving to Texas. Definitely recommend the brussel sprouts and potato salad as sides. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Don't miss the 3rd floor to have an after dinner cocktail and cigar (after you try one of their great desserts, of course).
Made reservations 2 weeks prior and requested private table, booth, or something more romantic than normal so we could enjoy our anniversary. It was in the notes and I even called to verify something was possible. They assured me we would be taken care of. That was not the case. They simply put us at the first high top table available in the bar area. Zero effort was put into our request. They said they couldn’t do anything because they were so busy. A little ridiculous but whatever. Food was good.
Celebrated a birthday!
