Birthday Celebration-delicious bread pudding!
Everyone enjoyed Haywire!
Haywire is more than just great food, it's an experience. You'll enjoy walking through three stories' worth of bars, scenic balconies and an interesting variety of seating options. From an Airstream trailer on the top level, to intimate couches that hug fireplaces, to the cool retro spot on the main level, you're going to love hanging out at Haywire. My top picks - the mini elk tacos, fried green tomatoes, and herb-roasted chicken breast with Texas goat-cheese grits. YUM!
The food was great. The ambiance was nice. Our server was awesome! We had a wonderful server named Ian who not only gave great advice and tips about the menu but also paid close attention to our needs and differences. My husband does not eat meat but I do and I wanted to try the Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese has this delectable pork sausage in it that sounded amazing but due to my hubby’s veggie diet we weren’t going to try the meat. Ian being the great host he is, had the meat put on the side so I could rate it. The recommendations he gave were spot on and he was of course friendly and courteous. We will be back and hopefully will see Ian!
Easy reservations. Walked right in and table was ready, they had our event marked and that was perfect. Our waitress seemed either new or distracted because she rarely made it to our table. We would have ordered more drinks had she made it over more and when she did, we tried to order more drinks but she forgot them. The food was all fabulous except for the migas. I don’t even know what to tell you they tasted like but they certainly would not be my recommendation. However, the sampler appetizer platter is a must! It might leave you wanting to order another it was all so tasty. The chicken fried steak was perfect with great seasoning and same for the burger. Can’t remember the name but it had an egg on it and was fabulous. The brussels sprouts, green beans, mashed potatoes... all perfection.
All in all, worth the trip. Will go again and would recommend it to a friend 👌🏻
Haywire continues to be one of our favorite spots, especially for Sunday Brunch (though can’t go wrong for dinner at all!).
This visit we had a couple service hiccups, but they were promptly and well addressed.
Between my family and I we’re tried almost everything at this point - our favorite is to order several starter & brunch items and share around so you get a taste of everything. Oh and don’t forget the mimosas!
Chicken and waffles were cold. Waffle undercooked and grainy. Chicken was chicken tenders.. I was expecting fried chicken . Very disappointing!
Wait staff could have been more attentive. Carrots served were undercooked. Ambiance was nice.
Great food but terrible, very slow service.
Great food! Great atmosphere!
The food and service were both awesome! Great location and ambiance! We will definitely be back.
Incredible staff, ambiance and food! Was surprised by a visit from my out-of-town parents and the staff were all in on it! Lovely place while also so incredibly hip and cool.
This was my second time visiting Haywire and it was good. We had a 7p resv however was not seated for 40 mins afterwards. I requested a booth or table near window, for my anniversary but that accommodation was ignored. Everything else was really good!
Our waiter was extremely slow and really wasn’t attentive. It wasn’t busy for that to be an excuse. The food was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. Just wish we had better service.
Kitchen was very slow on a Sunday evening and the steaks were definitely under cooked for medium. Service was adequate but not fantastic.
I had a bad server who never came to the table to ask if we needed anything until my order came or wrong and she came to the table to question ME about it. She didn't ask, she walked up from behind me and said:. Umm. You asked for your burger with no mustard, cheddar cheese and what else? No apology from her. The error was no big deal. It was her attitude about it. Before that, she never asked if we wanted appetizers or were ready to order and she tried to argue that they couldn't make a regular margarita even though there were 2 margaritas on the menu. She couldn't find a pen, but commented that she kept pulling out lip liners. At the end when she thought she was being nice, she asked if we lived around there, replied oh really when we said yes and asked if we had been there before. The tables are close and I hadn't heard those questions asked of anyone else. I don't usually complain like this, but that was rediculous!!
Birthday celebration with friends.
My waiter was awesome great suggestions on the appetizers and food. Will definitely go back again.
Server was nice but overall service is slow.
Great atmosphere with superior food
What a hidden new jewel in the North Dallas restaurant and bar scene! Everything is first-class. Definitely coming back.
Had a wonderful table right by the patio. The doors are open and the breeze was perfect. Our server was fantastic and even chased me down after I dropped my work badge while at the table at some point. Love coming here for any occasion!
Courteous staff. Great atmosphere and food. Service impeccable from start to finish. Food arrived in more than a timely manner, and fresh!
Food was fantastic esp. the BBQ Brussel Sprouts! Amazing!
Haywire never disappoints - especially for a business lunch or dinner, but it's great for the whole family. Food is always delicious with exemplary, prompt, and courteous service at fair prices.
wait staff was very attentive and responded to all our request
Overall it's a nice place, being vegetarian brunch was my best option, usually I ask before I order if there is any meat in the menu items but looking at the description I assumed there was no meat but there was and a bit disappointed at myself. The people were amazing very good service.
Fantastic brunch menu!
Great ribeye and wedge salad. Nice bottle of wine. Service was timely and on target.
AMAZING food and really great atmosphere! The waiters were super nice but also quick and efficient with bringing out food! Will definitely be going back :)
My daughter celebrated her 18th birthday at Haywire & it was excellent!! She & her friends had a great time.
Five of us went for bday dinner. First time at restaurant for all of us. Everything was amazing including queso and crab dip appetizers. Redfish and steaks were also excellent. Don’t miss out on elk tacos or goat cheese grits. Our waiter, Casey was perfect ...knowledgeable, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back !
Loved it! The redfish is my favorite! And we had the best server!!
The service and food were excellent. It was my wife's birthday. She was given a dessert to celebrate. After our meal we enjoyed another cocktail and a cigar at the rooftop bar. Very enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back
First time at Haywire. Food was excellent and service from Casey was outstanding.
Great brunch with family. Didn’t feel rushed and service was excellent. Have the chocolate cake!
While our waiter was amazing, the entire experience was more of a “meh”.
The 2 hostess stations did not know what the other was doing and when finally seated it was at a high top, which is okay for happy hour and drinks with your pals, but for a night that ended up being almost 200$ the seating was a huge issue. We did ask to be moved but after a 10 minute wait the young girl came back and said they were booked and no seats were available. (We did see many open tables the entire time but loved our waiter and just dropped the issue since she, the hostess, was obviously not going to try anything outside her comfort zone to help.
We ordered the fried green tomatoes and the lump crab dip as appetizers and they said the crab dip was great, I can only speak to the delightful flavors mingling with the fried green tomatoes. Wow....a must try. Dinner sounded delicious but honestly after about the 3rd nite it all seemed to lose flavor and just be too heavy. We did all enjoy the mesmerizing cinnamon bun crust pecan pie! It’s enough for 4 and then some, but well worth it.
They seem to be confused on who they are. Southern home cooking or a steakhouse. It’s almost overwhelming with the noise, the music and all the furnishings/decor. There was something that I just couldn’t put my finger on as to why it just didn’t work for us. We love trying new places but this will be a one and done for us. Grateful for an evening out, but not impressed with Haywire.
We were a party of four celebrating two birthdays. I indicated on my reservation that we were celebrating so there was a empty wine bottle on our table with Happy Birthday engraved and colored lights inside. Very nice. Our party ordered the catfish jambalaya, ribs, chicken fried steak with potatoes, and a steak and grain salad. All was wonderful. My husband really enjoyed his chicken fried steak and raved about the potatoes. Following our dinner, our awesome server, Donovan, brought us two complimentary Texas bread puddings, made with whiskey and served with a cream sauce. The dessert made the meal and our server made the whole experience exceptional. Donovan was the best part. On the downside, the restaurant was incredibly loud to the point where we could not hear one another. As usual, the restaurant was out of the Unlawful Assembly double IPA--Haywire really should stock up since it is clearly a popular beer choice. Back to the positives, we dined with another couple who had never been to Haywire. They commented how fun the restaurant was. Indeed, Haywire is great fun.
We took a friend who was visiting from out of town to Haywire for dinner. It was our first time dining there, but it won’t be our last. The restaurant’s modern design is first rate. With the exception of the extremely high noise level, the ambience is very nice. Be that as it may, the primary reason one goes to Haywire is for the delicious cuisine, which as excellent. We started with fried green tomatoes and the tower of onion rings. We split the best chicken fried steak we’ve had anywhere! The jalapeño cream gravy was an excellent compliment to the steak. The two sides, chive mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, were delicious as well. Our guest had the grilled chicken breast with veggies, which were equally tasty. We didn’t have desert; however, we look forward to experiencing the pecan pie the next time we dine at Haywire, it looked delicious. If you are looking for the best in Southwestern cuisine in North Dallas, Haywire is definitely the place!
We came to Haywire to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had a reservation on a Friday evening and they sat us promptly at our table when we got there. Food was exceptional, service was outstanding, and they even gave us a free dessert knowing it was my wife's birthday. We'll be back very soon!
