Haymaker West Seattle is the newest venture from the General Harvest Restaurant group. Staying true to who we are, we will be focusing on simple seafood, local vegetables, proteins and of course pasta dishes. We are taking the same fundamentals of our Italian leaning restaurants and applying them to a simplistic approach to new American cuisine.

Such a treat to experience Haymaker during Seattle Restaurant Week. A terrific price for the amount of food our party of five received with the three-course meal. The seafood Risotto with saffron broth was spectacular! Staff were all very professional and personable, creating a very delightful and special evening for us!

At first we were asked if we knew what we wanted to order for food. When we said we hadn't the female server walked away with a flip of her hand. What we wanted to order were drinks, but were not asked by her.
It wasn't until the manager Jin, took on our table did our experience change 180. He made all the difference, what a great employee to have. He was knowledgeable, courteous, funny and personable. Because of his service, we will be back

We dined alfresco on a Wednesday evening, and opted for the tasting menu after an aperitif. The wine selections were priced well, and there were great domestic and international options. Chef took us on a wonderful tour of cuisine while the staff made great conversation and offered fantastic service. Would certainly visit again!

Our dinner was spectacular. We had the chefs choice tasting menu per our servers recommendation. We loved every course and for the $ the value is outstanding. We were going to sit outdoors, but there are no heaters yet. So indoors seemed fine, tables were widely spaced apart. I will say the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Other than that, a wonderful experience!

Celebrated our anniversary and told multiple times “happy anniversary” by the staff which was so kind. Waitress and waiter were very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Wonderful experience.

Food was spectacular—we started with the Lamb Merguez, which was pleasantly spicy and reminiscent of street food. The heirloom tomatoes with peach and green goddess dressing was a nicely balanced between the slightly tart tomatoes, sweet and succulent peaches and creamy, herbaceous dressing. Mary’s Chicken had perfectly crispy, seasoned skin and tender, juicy meat with a beautifully savory and not-overthickened jus. We finished with the chocolate ricotta cake—the cake was wonderfully spongey and just slightly sweet, the whipped peanut butter was light and delightful, the blackberry compote was tart and sweet without being jammy, and the gelato lent a wonderful creaminess to the entire dish.

Our server, Shawn, was excellent. The place was packed when we arrived, and despite the fact that the restaurant wasn’t adequately staffed for the level of business (COVID time and all) and she was obviously handling service to the bulk of the tables, Shawn was prompt, attentive, friendly, gracious, informative (she’s extremely knowledgeable of the menu and the preparation of all its dishes) and an overall joy. The general Manager was on the floor, as well, seating patrons and running food, and his kind demeanor lent to what was already an overall wonderful experience.

Overall, we had a terrific experience and we cannot wait to go back—and we will certainly make sure to be seated again in Shawn’s section, as she’s simply the best. Highly recommend this gem tucked away in West Seattle!

The food was not that good on this night. We have been to Haymaker before and the food was fantastic. Tonight the salad was over dressed, the new pasta dish was lacking in crab and squash blossoms. They removed the new dish off of our bill - but it was definitely an off night for the cooks. If I go to a nice restaurant, I expect high quality food.

We were happy to be able to actually reserve an outside table and not just “request” it. We arrived early and got a good table, although the sun was rather blinding and an umbrella would be a great addition. As usual at Haymaker, we had a very good meal and very good service. It is one of our fav restaurants in West Seattle and of course we will be back.

I wish I could rate this place better, because I love Raccolto (Sister establishment). Plain and simple - steak was cold, fries were cold. The staff was apologetic and accommodating however. Ordered the burger next, after we sent the steak back and I think the bad taste in our mouth from the cold steak/fries didn’t give us a fair observation of the burger. Again, I want to say the staff was genuinely concerned about our service and experience. We were approached several times after the fact, asking how everything was and if we were ok.
I will give this place another shake - maybe just a bad day for the cook/chef. We all have them, folks.

We had a great time celebrating our seven year anniversary there! We had the chef's tasting menu and oysters, and lots of wine. Our waitress was friendly and fun. During a pandemic, it was our first moment that felt totally normal.

So yum! We sat outside on patio, very distant from other tables, we had the recommended chefs ensemble - so it was about 7 courses or small bites, such a good array of veggies, pasta, fish, and desert! Service was amazing. Can’t go wrong, highly recommend!

Dining inside was comfortable, felt very safe with plenty of distancing, staff masked single use menus, etc. Service excellent and fast. Happy Hour menu is good value. Zucchini and crab starter is excellent as is the burger.

Haymaker is one of our favorite places to go. The 8 year old specifically asked for her birthday dinner here. The food is always great and they have a very affordable Happy Hour.

COVID precautions seemed very good, al fresco dining was very nice, well spaced out. Food was very good, recommend the burger, the beet salad and the zucchini with crab. French fries good, but a huge serving. Service generally good but check was slow coming and processing.

We had our first dine-in experience in months (and our first date night as well) at Haymaker on Saturday June 20th. It was fantastic. They had taken all of the steps to ensure safety you would expect and look for these days. Beyond that, the food and service was wonderful as was their wine pairing suggestion. We continue to love Haymaker and highly recommend.

I very much want to like this place. I generally love all of the owners other restaurants particularly Raccolto in West Seattle. Unfortunately this one is yet to achieve that.
This particular meal was just after reopening from the Covid pandemic. That said they specialize in pasta and the pasta was gummy. The chicken sandwich was delicious though I’m not sure that is what a upscale restaurant you should be serving.
It is it not worth the value though we hope they will keep trying. We would like more reliable upscale restaurants in West Seattle.

We ordered everything on the tasting menu minus the focaccia, just to have a fun variety of flavors. It was delicious, we especially like the Brussel sprouts and the garden salad. Also the Rib was spectacular. What an enjoyable experience. there were four of us and we were full at the end.
