My dear friend and I had a lovely evening at Haymaker. The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful. Loved it. Can’t wait to go back.
Ate outside, so no idea about inside ambience. Every bite of each dish was delicious -- hamachi, broccoli, asparagus, watemelon apps, salmon and rigatoni mains, and desserts. Excellent service. all in all a terrific meal on a beautiful summer night.
My favorite place to eat in West Seattle. The food is on point and always consistent. Cooked perfectly and with amazing flavors. Staff is always very fast, attentive and professional. The manager a tall handsome man is always making sure your meal meets your expectations. Overall the experience is very high end but for a reasonable price. The tasting menu is perfection.
First date night since January 2020….so we were very happy to be out!
The Pork pasta was divine. Heavenly. Burrata - yum.
It was busy but service was relatively quick.
Disappointed in the very limited choice of desserts. Ordered Lemon Sorbet - presented in a half full mug - love the idea but probably would have been better presented in a small tea cup rather than a mug.
Food was delicious 😋. The hamachi appetizer especially with the mint infused ice. Very original. Beef tartar was enjoyable as well. Most of the servers and host were wonderful. I just dont think our server was in a very good mood. She seemed really angry. Not AT all conversational or even the slightest bit friendly. I always give 20-25% tip. She got 15%. Overall... I would go again. Maybe she was just having a bad night.
The first time I’ve tasted food and it really took you somewhere. Amazing fragrance and taste. The halibut dish was by far our favorite. We enjoyed several pastas. And overall the experience of being satisfied in being full but not sickly full. We enjoyed the foods lightness. We also ate half of the dishes and took the rest home, since we wanted to try a variety of dishes. My husband enjoyed the bar drink options. Staff were very homely and pleasant. Can’t wait to do it again. Fabulous date night.
What a wonderful new addition to West Seattle. It’s so great to have more dining options in our neighborhood. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. We went with the Chef’s menu and we were very impressed with the food that was brought to us. I probably would not choose this option again since it didn’t seem the food items given met the $54 a person charge, but it was a fun experience for the occasion. Definitely will go again and thanks for coming to West Seattle!
The food is awesome, and I’ve been going here regularly since they’ve opened. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Recently though it seems the entire staff turned over and all new people work there that do not deliver the service I’ve become accustomed to. This might sound harsh, but the overall interactions with the staff is what made Haymaker so special. I hope they can get their groove back.
Really good food, nice setting and excellent service. Can't wait to go back and try something different.
Loved it! Will be back!
Food was great, as was the service. The tall tables are a bit wobbly, and though we were unable to reserve a regular table, less than half of them were occupied while we were there.
I had been looking forward to dining at Haymaker in West Seattlefor a long time and was very disappointed when I went there for dinner tonight. The atmosphere is like a farmhouse which was fine. The server/host had a condescending attitude when he greeted our party. After we were seated, the same server/host came to take our order. I asked if it would be ok to hold an ingredient from a dish because I have an allergy to it. The server again displayed a condescending attitude and said the chef prefers to make it his way but could put ask the chef if it would be ok to make an alteration. I asked for more time to think about what I'd like. The server said if we waited longer, it would take longer for the food to arrive because it would get busier. At that point I wanted to leave but decided to give this place a chance. I opted for the burger while my companions ordered pasta a d appetizers. When the food arrived, it was average. The roasted broccoli was too spicy to finish. The pasta dishes were on the greasy side and not exceptionally tasty. The fries were over salted and greasy. The burger was ok, you could get a burger that's just as good at Coastline a block away. This is not a Michelin-grade restaurant. It is overpriced for the food and service. The whole time we were there the restaurant was more than half empty. There was no reason for the server to rush us. For the poor service and subpar food quality, we don't plan on returning to this place in the future.
Tiffney is the bomb!
Wonderful on all levels!
I love this place! The service and the food are fantastic
Best halibut I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection!
Great new spot! Drinks were great and really enjoyed the pasta. Pricey but very enjoyable.
Haymaker has become a new favorite for us in West Seattle. Great food, drinks and service!
Excellent service and food. We were a party of four, was seated promptly and our waitress made our dinner a memorable one. We had focaccia, charred broccoli and French fries for appetizers. All were good especially the broccoli! For main course we had Tagliatelle, Chicken, Halibut and hamburger. They were all well prepared. It was a very nice birthday dinner here. Will go back to eat the broccoli again!
Everything was pretty great. The music wasn't loud, but it was noticeable- lots of oldies that night which was fun to listen to. The service was very attentive and friendly (especially the bartender). All the food was really tasty, except for the steak. We tried the prosciutto di parma, grilled asparagus w/ hollandaise (sooo good), and hamachi; those were all especially delicious. For entrées, we had mushroom tagliatelle, and my husband ordered steak (actually I ordered it for him, he said he'd like either like that or the hamburger; I'll pick hamburger next time :) ) After we had eaten the small plates, we waited for entrees for what felt like an awkwardly long amount of time. Maybe 20-25 minutes? The bartender (not our server), noticing we were sitting for quite a while, came to reassure us that our food was about 5 more minutes away, and make sure we were good with our drinks. They brought the food out; tagliatelle was steaming hot, and the steak, was room temp (well, Seattle's been so hot lately, the steak was not quite as hot as room temp.) Cook wise, it was medium rare (red center) as they cook it, and the flavor was good- it was just, not... warm (he also cut A LOT of fat off it). Not what I would expect for one of the high ticket menu items. My husband didn't mind though ("we both have our health and our jobs, our family is in good health, after this past year, what's the point in getting upset about steak ? :) ") Anyway, the mushroom tagliatelle was very delicious and exactly what I expected from the menu description. A good night. thank you !
Wonderful staff and management. Incredible pasta. Creative recipes. Terrific ingredients. This restaurant is a definite winner. We will be frequent clients!
Delicious all the way through!
Great dinner celebrating a friend’s birthday. Everything was delicious. Pretty and we’ll-made cocktails, yummy appetizers and delicious, perfectly cooked steak frites. So happy to know about this lovely neighborhood treasure.
The food was outstanding…. The service was horrible
Wanted to order dishes one by one and the server basically told us “no the chef won’t allow that, order it all at once and we will space it out as we see fit”
Then of course everything all came at once and was cold by the time we got to the later dishes…
Our table of 4 had the chef's tasting menu. It was fantastic and plenty of food for 4. Our server was courteous and knowledgeable. We will definitely return again.
Brought some out-of-town friends here for the Oyster & Prosecco Wednesday deal, which you really can’t beat! Super fresh oysters, discounted Prosecco (even when you get the full bottle!) and lots of other tasty small plates to try (the burrata is a must-order).
We have been to Haymaker several times. It's our go-to favorite for a night out. The food is always on point and the cocktails are amazing. We order the Chef's choice menu every time and are never disappointed.
One of the best restaurants that I have been to in the West Seattle area.
Our waiter was excellent, helping with choices and serving us. Mauricio thank you!
Dining experiences during Covid are still inconsistent, but if you want amazing service and fabulous food, Haymaker is the place. We had a patio reservation, but Seattle in June can feel like January, which it did with the wind this past weekend. When the heater over our table didn't work, we were immediately offered inside seating with the best view in house - the open kitchen. It was fun to see the interaction and be warm. I was impressed with how quickly the staff reacted to the heater issue, without complaint or any discussion about the ability to solve the problem. I can't wait to return.e
Food is j as s
My friend and I did the tasting menu, which is a fantastic deal if you ask me. The entrees being $30+ on their own, we got 6 courses for $49/person! We could barely finish dessert, it was so well portioned and definitely didn’t skimp on any of the dishes size wise or quality. Every dish was delicious and super fresh. They ask if you have any allergies beforehand and then take it from there. Our server was very attentive, but didn’t rush us. We were seated outside, and when it started to get cooler out, they put the heat lamps on and it was perfectly comfortable. I’ve been a fan of Brian Clevenger’s restaurants since I went to Raccolto when it first opened, and both Haymaker locations have never disappointed either.
Great apps, great drinks, great entrees, and great dessert cocktails. Staff were so pleasant and professional. Service was prompt and attentive. Will return.
Great atmosphere, phenomenal service and every dish included with the Chefs Tasting Menu was terrific. Will be going back soon.
Beautiful farm chic vibe, abundant air and space. Service was exceptionally nice … professional and nuanced, a real pleasure. Quality modern American fare, yet nothing exceptional.
Tasty, creative vegetable dishes, nice cocktails, excellent pasta. As a treat, we really like the chef’s choice tasting menu. It’s 7 dishes, served as four courses with vegetables, a pasta, a protein and dessert. Fun to get lots of tastes.
I had a lovely outdoor happy hour here with a friend. It was my third visit in 2 months at this restaurant. The burger and the chicken sandwich are delicious! The cocktails are tasty!
Tasting menu was lackluster. Protein served was seared tuna and it was over cooked. Good but not great overall and at the price point I was disappointed. Service, on the other hand was warm and attentive.
