The kitchen ran out of New York steak, which we wanted to try. So we did the shoulder but disappointed in that.
Food is always exceptional, BUT, they cannot manage to get the food out of the kitchen in a timely manner. I keep coming back because the quality of the food is THAT good, worth the wait in fact. But the expediter needs some help.
Roasted Brussel sprouts and ribeye were a hit. Drinks slow to roll out to table but didn’t disappoint. Beautiful space and responsive waitstaff. Enjoyed our meal. Thanks!
We ordered the tasting menu, and it was pretty good. They stated each table gets a different tasting menu, based on chef choice. None of us at the table liked the scrambled eggs. We were a bit thrown off getting served scrambled eggs. Wasn’t great. Other dishes were decent, but nothing to write home about.
I’ve been there twice in 3 weeks. Both times the food was very good.
One of the best dining experiences in West Seattle.
Staff is highly professional and personable.
Food is delicious and not boring. Kudos to the chef!
Make a reservation early as it has gotten popular.
I heard about the restaurant from a friend. It’s was our 19th wedding anniversary and we wanted to try a new restaurant. We loved the food! The Chef did an excellent job!
Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Wait staff was attentive, helpful & great communication. The bartender came over to our table and gave us insight as to the wines that would pair well with our dinner. It was nice of him to do that!
Loved the decor and the ambiance. We’ll definitely be back.
Great service! Timing between apps and entrees was perfect!
Love this restaurant and it's so refreshing to see consistently high quality of dishes, and a seasonally-changing menu. Vibrant, stylish location in the heart of West Seattle's Junction.
Came here to celebrate my bday and it did not disappoint.
We’ve been here once before last year and decided to come back for a special occasion. With covid, we hardly go out and with a kid, it’s even extra difficult.
The place feels modern and chic. The staff was very friendly and attentive . We ordered half a dozen oysters (which is our fave) and went with the 7 course chef’s tasting menu. Pasta and the Steak were fantastic…. Definitely the highlight.
I will definitely be coming back
We really like having a legit West Seattle dining option that offers some very enjoyable choices. This place in some ways replaces the need to "venture" off the West Seattle Island given the bridge debacle.
It was a special intimate dinner date with a party of 5 friends and family to celebrate my husbands birthday. Our experience begin immediately when we walked in and was asked by the hostess “what can I do for you?” Kind of a strange question to be asked from a hostess when you walk into a restaurant. Somewhat taken back, I responded— “ummmm, we’d like a table to eat dinner?” Point being, it felt more like, why are you here than you are welcome here and we are glad you are here..The hostess would then show us to our table where a portion of our party had already arrived and become our waitress too. Let’s just say things got a little better but you could tell business is clearly impacted by staffing due to COVID which is no fault of theirs. The atmosphere, design, and food was all very nice. We had a great time together. Will give it another try in the future.
Wonderful homemade pasta! A real treat…
The food and drinks were excellent and the service was very good. We enjoyed it!
Had to wait for the manager to ultimately wait onus; but I know everyone is short staffed. Pasta perfect.
From top to bottom, this place was great. The people were all super nice and their service was terrific. The drinks were great, the food was great. I highly recommend the chef's menu.
Probably the best place in West Seattle. The food was suberbly prepared and presented. Halibut with baby fried califlower, pasta with pesto sauce. fresh and refreshing oysters. The wine list emphasizes the high end but we had an excellent bottle of cote de rhone for $60. Professional unobstrusive service from a group of charming waitpersons.
We had an incredible experience. I never leave reviews, but I am taking the time to leave this one because I felt that our server was fantastic and our food was incredible. Every dish was better than expected, our cocktails were both beautiful and delicious, and the environment was such that we felt like we were having a truly special night out to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which was exactly what I had hoped for. We also came with our three year old and our waitress brought his food out as soon as it was ready without prompting, which was a huge (and thoughtful) plus for us. I also appreciated the fact that each party was spaced out when seated- while we’ve not eaten out much at all since the beginning of the pandemic, I have noticed that the few times we’ve eaten out recently parties are all sat in close quarters, which still makes me very uncomfortable. I greatly appreciated the fact Haymaker spaced out its tables (and parties) to give guests more room and a more private dining experience. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.
Fabulous food, wish I could remember our waiter’s name… he was Italian, marvelous accent and provided some of the best service we’ve had in a long time. Ambiance is a little sterile, but not bad.
Some of the best pasta I have had.
Great seating for four outside with hot heat lamps! Menu includes less expensive items to full chefs diners. Great variety of options.
Love their burger, best fries in WS and always a great spot!
I DETEST that Open Table uses the word 'energetic' to describe a 'noise level' that, in any other situation, is TOO LOUD. Seriously.. If I'm gonna drop $200 on dinner and wine, I want to be able to have conversation with my dining partners.
TO HAYMAKERS CREDIT, they alway have the music inside at JUST the right level so the music sets a nice ambience. It's a lively room with lots of glass and reflective surfaces with not a lot of potential for some sound treatment (though, some hanging baffles and some treatment on the East wall could look cool and work to knock it down a bit),
AND AS ALWAYS, the food and service is SPECTACULAR. We've become regulars.
Fantastic food and some of the best service around thanks to the incredible staff!
This is great place! Do the Chef’s Choice for dinner!!
Wonderful 1st visit for my wife's birthday. Food and service were outstanding. Table nearby sang for my wife after realizing is was her birthday. With the open kitchen even the kitchen wished us a happy birthday and thanked us for our visit. Definitely on my A list!
I had no idea this place was going to be so fantastic... We just moved to the neighborhood and thought Haymaker looked like a cool gastropub that made craft cocktails but it's so much more than that. My wife and I, and our two friends, opted for the chef's tasing menu and the four of us couldn't recommend it more! It changes all the time but you can trust this chef - Amazing!
We had the tasting menu and a bottle of wine. It was all wonderful and our server was super sweet! I felt it was a great value too!
Last night a friend and I shared the Chef's Choice Menu 7 course meal and it was an amazing value and absolutely delicious. Grace was our attentive server. As course after course arrived she continued to keep our wine and water glasses filled and was great about breaking out the bill as I paid for the dozen oysters not on the meal and we split the rest. I think the chef had ESP since everything I would have ordered ala cart was delivered! Of special note, the grilled asparagus, heirloom tomatoes, pork cheek ragu, halibut and the chocolate cake with candied orange. So yummy and $54 per person!
The food was so good. The service was spot on. Everyone was very attentive and professional. I highly recommend having dinner her. We celebrated out 26th Anniversary.
Pleasant atmosphere. Attentive wait staff. Overpriced food and limited menu. Burgers were overcooked, sent back and returned still overcooked.
We have been here countless times and keep coming back because it never disappoints. We especially love the chef’s tasting!
Service was not good, the server was a bit rude and so was the host
The food was amazing and the service was great. The outside seating was away from the street which was nice.
It was absolutely great! The food and service were both fantastic.
My dear friend and I had a lovely evening at Haymaker. The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful. Loved it. Can’t wait to go back.
The chicken was very salty and the rigatoni with mushrooms had few mushrooms.
Ate outside, so no idea about inside ambience. Every bite of each dish was delicious -- hamachi, broccoli, asparagus, watemelon apps, salmon and rigatoni mains, and desserts. Excellent service. all in all a terrific meal on a beautiful summer night.
My favorite place to eat in West Seattle. The food is on point and always consistent. Cooked perfectly and with amazing flavors. Staff is always very fast, attentive and professional. The manager a tall handsome man is always making sure your meal meets your expectations. Overall the experience is very high end but for a reasonable price. The tasting menu is perfection.
First date night since January 2020….so we were very happy to be out!
The Pork pasta was divine. Heavenly. Burrata - yum.
It was busy but service was relatively quick.
Disappointed in the very limited choice of desserts. Ordered Lemon Sorbet - presented in a half full mug - love the idea but probably would have been better presented in a small tea cup rather than a mug.
