   Skip the skewers!!!!! $9 for an inch piece of extremely over done beef! $9 for a skewer with three small new potatoes and a piece of a cauliflower floret! $9 skewer for one small shrimp and one small undercooked scallop! All with unremarkable sauces. Have been there four times since they opened and none of the visits have been worthwhile. Will never go back.

   Had reservations but was offered bar table and one by the door and told they had quite a few reservations. I mentioned they had our reservation and was offered a table in the dining room. Not a good start to diner. Food was good, service was fine but hard to recover after the host. We do it feel compelled to dine again here.

   The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was not spicy or well seasoned. The portion of chicken was small, so the sandwich was mostly bun. The service wasn't great either; my husband tried to order a starter and was told everything needs to be ordered at once because the restaurant was busy. Clearly our presence was a burden. The kitchen needs to taste the food they're sending out. I guarantee they wouldn't dine there if they did. Disappointing and a waste of money.

   This is one of our favorite restaurants! However, they forgot to make my dish so i my pasta came out after my husband & son had already finished their meals. Fortunately they comp’d my meal which I appreciated. This is not the first time we have had issues with the kitchen forgetting things. However the food is delicious & the servers are very nice so we keep coming back.

   We went for restaurant week, enjoyed how they brought enough of all of the starters for the entire table and then you chose your main course and dessert. Steak was very tender, would have been better if it also had a side, or we had understood that so we could have ordered the fries too. We will go back.

    Service was somewhat slow. One item was forgotten. Our server seemed too busy to spend much time with us. The food was good overall, but the crostini with rapini (?) was cold and bitter. Ahi and salad were great. The mushroom fusilli was good but had a bit too much pepper. Pork belly was tasty and Brussels sprouts were excellent. Very good dessert. The whole experience could have been better with a bit more attention from the waitstaff.

    Went for Restaurant week. Overall good, pavlova was chewy, my seafood brodetto was good, some fish, some prawns (they tasted salty) and a couple mussels (which i dont eat) and nice salad, tuna crudo, and some bruschetta with pancetta ( I did not try since I dont eat meat). Service was very nice.

    Went for restaurant week. The portions are much smaller than their regular menu, so there isn’t much value. This was the case on the last Seattle restaurant week. They cut corners, sadly- so I highly recommend Haymaker on a regular night. Best food in all of west Seattle- just don’t recommend their restaurant week menu.

    I live in W. Seattle, so it made sense to make Haymaker West my first choice for kicking off SRW. I made a reservation the day before for 7pm on Sunday for two. I had seen the menu well in advance and knew we would be sharing the first course. What was most surprising was the portion sizes. If two people are "sharing" small plates one would at least expect the portions to be something other than minuscule. The tuna slices, on a bread-plate sized dish, were about the size of a quarter each. We both laughed as it was set down on the table..the tongs they provided dwarfed the plate and the portions. Imagine the very tail end of a beautiful cut of tuna. The second plate was more substantial with two wedges of baby romaine topped with pickled onions and diced hard boiled egg. The vinaigrette had very little flavor, but at least it was more than one bite, and we both got a wedge each. The third plate was two crostini with under-seasoned toppings. To make things worse, when I got home I looked over their online menu from the day before and noticed we should have gotten one more shared appetizer from their posted menu: Sformato butternut squash, guanciale, gorgonzola dolce. It wasn't served to us, nor was there a substitution offered by the waiter. At this point we were glad the main course was coming due to how small the proceeding plates were and how hungry we were. We both chose the Brodetto (sole, mussels, prawns). It arrived tepid and small. The "broth" was bland, a slight step up from water with a hint of saffron and very little flavor; I had to ask for salt. Both desserts were 69'd by 7:30. Instead we were given a "panna cotta", but it was actually a small bowl of a custard-like substance. An incredibly disappointing SRW experience. If this is the best they can due to woe new customers, I can't see going back. I ate out 4 times for RW and this was the worst experience by far. So disappointing.

    Had a 7pm reservation for 3 but when we were ready to order, we were informed that the only side they had as “grilled peaches”, they had run out of potatoes (which were all the other sides) and were out of half of the offered proteins. We ordered drinks of which one was wrong, and then order appetizers which for their portion size were very expensive. There were only two servers covering the whole dining room, so the service was slow. Hoping it was just an off night.

    Food is always wonderful at Haymaker, it's outstanding. Our service however was good not great as it was busy and we were being served by someone who was just really busy on Friday evening. We will be back, we love the cooking, the staff, and atmosphere in West Seattle so much.

    As others have noted, this wasn't quite the experience hoped for with the high price and small but thoughtful menu. The food was good, but didn't meet the high standards the price implies. Our steak wasn't cooked to the right temperature requested and the fish, while still good flavor-wise, was quite dry / overcooked. Portions were a little small, and the wait to receive food and even our drinks was also quite long. Overall, while the meal was satisfying enough, for the price point we left feeling a little disappointed in the experience.

    Way overpriced. $38 for 2 inch by 2 inch cut of halibut. Service was slow and the place was less than 30% full. When asked to have shrimp added to a pasta dish chef put 1 shrimp on top of pasta as if to say “F$&* You” for asking. We want to support local restaurants, but it’s a 2 way street. Act like you want and appreciate your patrons.

    We made a last minute booking at 6:45PM. The restaurant was not busy. The service was prompt. The duck plus a few sides was enough for the two of us. We were able to find a few glasses of wine that we enjoyed. So, all in, a satisfying meal after a busy day.

    Beautiful restaurant with a thoughtful menu. However the service was awkward? Our server was missing for awhile and showed up with his shirt untucked, no apron, and this awkward laid back/casual style about him. He was leaning against our table while talking to us. It felt really unusual. The food was also disappointing. The pasta was unevenly cooked, some was perfectly Al dente and some was crunchy/undercooked still. The restaurant was out of all Sav Blancs and a few menu items, so we couldn’t get exactly what we wanted. It was a quiet Saturday night in the restaurant and maybe the staff was taking it easy, but it was an expensive dinner for us ($200) and we didn’t feel like we enjoyed the meal or received a value for that cost.

    I have eaten here a few times and find the food to be good, but it is always a mixed bag as far as service and food quality. Last night was pretty disappointing for us. We asked to order a couple of shared items and were told that the kitchen asked us not to order until our whole party was there, but they took our order anyway. The rest of the dinner went down hill from there. We ordered pasta, which was pretty good but we had to wait, about an hour for our food, pretty sure the waiter forgot to put in our order as we were almost the only table still there and no food in sight. He made some excuses why it took so long, it felt like they were just excuses and not valid. Overall we felt like it was not a great experience and won't be going back any time soon.

    Restaurant really needs to install blinds. For an hour I had to wear 2 pairs of sunglasses so I wasn't blinded by the sun coming in the window. The waitress didn't seem to understand what was on the menu and gave misinformation multiple times. Food was good but wasn't what we expected after hearing a description from the waitress. Cocktails where slow to come out but tasted excellent.

    Pastas were great. Appetizers were tasty but lacked on presentation for the price. Service was poor, server got an order wrong, seemed unfriendly, and made any request seem like it was quite a hassle and like he didn’t have enough time to properly serve us. Mind you, the restaurant wasn’t even half full for 85% of our time there so staffing was not an issue.
