So nice to have another Brian restaurant in the neighborhood
I think Haymaker is still in its adjustment phase and hasn't gotten its groove yet. First the space is cavernous and unfriendly with little effort to make it more intimate. Our wait person was kind of ditzy and kept forgetting things. We had the tuna crudo and grilled green beans for appetizers, which were excellent. My wife had the Agnolotti pasta which was also great but tiny, not entree size. I had the grilled pork chops which were tender and tasty but a bit fatty. I love Roccoloto and some of the same food elements are here but somehow the overall experience just hasn't jelled yet. I'll revisit in a couple of months and see if things have improved
Amazing food and service.
Our server and service was excellent, food was top notch, and atmosphere was fantastic.
great date night, server was having some issues remembering anything, but it was pretty funny!
Food and service was great. They need to start using the bread and butter plates for bread and butter. Those tiny plates are just silly.
Overpriced and underwhelmed
Everything was top notch! Made a special evening even more special. Food was great! Service was the best!
The food was good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Getting the server to discuss the menu or give recommendations was impossible. Throughout the evening he neglected to check in with us or update us on the progress of our meal. Nothing like bad service to ruin a lovely evening. Find servers that understand that as the public face of the restaurant you need to sell customers on the experience and the food. One must be comfortable interacting with customers and if things are backed up in the kitchen you need to communicate that to the customer. Frustrating evening!
Excellent all the way around! Love this chef!! Service was outstanding, and atmosphere in these new digs is perfect. Felt like I was dining in a special place.
Other than the waitress trying to pushing under cooked beef, it was good. We had five dishes, ranging from some Rigatoni that was quite good, to the New York that was so so at best.
Great food, cute place too similar to restaurant up the street and pretty pricey
Very nice service but good food is what brings you back! All dishes for steak to pasta to pork were way over salted. Spoiled and masked the taste of each entree. Appetizers and drinks were good. But getting your main course right is imperative. Kudos to Tiffany for great service.
Food was great! Service was decent, could have been a little more attentive but wasn’t bad overall. We’ve been to Raccolto which is a sister restaurant and they both never brought our leftovers back! Bad on us to forget to ask before we left, but I feel like they should bring it out once they finish packing it up. So if you have leftovers, make sure to ask for the box back when you pay!
The food was great! We are pescatarian and there were plenty of options. Two people in the group had bourbon cocktails that were on point. Our first 3 courses were vegetables followed by 2 pastas and a main. The pasta was perfectly cooked. We had the scallops which come in three but the waiter brought us 4 so everyone in the group could have one. We were appreciative of his attention to detail. He took great care in making our meal memorable. We will definitely be back.
I was not happy that my reservation was canceled without any explanation. I was able to use the OpenTable app to get a reservation at a different time. When I arrived at the restaurant they seated us in a location with the sun directly going into my eyes and when I asked to just move my chair I was not made to feel like that was an acceptable option however they did not offer any alternatives. For a restaurant in West Seattle that is attempting to offer an elevated dining experience I would’ve expected much better customer service.
We have been waiting to check this place out for a while and it did not disappoint. Amazing food, great service. Welcome to the neighbourhood Haymaker!
This was our first visit at this new establishment. We went for Happy Hour. It was pretty good, though portion sizes are a bit on the small side. The food is upscale and a bit fussy. They lack Happy Hour drink pricing though! They also do not have beer on tap.
Very limited wine list, food was very good, staff needs training
We came in and were offered the happy hour menu as an option. It is a great menu as it has smaller versions of many of the entrees. We split five things and were very happy
The food was excellent, as was the service. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
Incredible food in our little junction! Totally impressed will be back.
Excellent service, loved the duck and the scallops were the best we’ve ever had. Drinks were perfect. The roasted peppers were really good. Only thing we didn’t love was the sausage and clams - so salty it practically burnt your tongue. But everything else was amazing - we’d definitely go again to this or their other restaurants too.
Sought out Haymaker after failing miserably to get a rez at Il Nido. I must say, the experience was a surprise and delight. Laid-back but attentive service, delicious food with a nice variety of choices, and a great selection of wine and cocktails. Perhaps my only "complaint" is that the design of the restaurant is somewhat odd, with a very large and central server station that breaks up the dining room, but otherwise everything was wonderful.
This food experience is a step up from anything you’ve ever tried in Seattle. The open kitchen was incredible to watch. Each bite of food will have you saying that is the best food I have ever had. Enjoy!!!
Great addition to the West Seattle dining scene! We had wonderful service with good options for our vegetarian diner and the food was excellent!
This was my visit to Haymaker and it was terrific. The service from the staff was great and the food was delicious. Had the charred beans and the Dungeness crab for appetizers and the scallops and black cod for mains. The scallops and fish were cooked perfectly! The atmosphere was industrial chic with large windows to watch everyone in the Junction walking by. My next trip will be for happy hour - the menu for that looked great! I love Raccolto and I think Brian Clevenger and his team have another hit. At least I hope so...it would be great if Haymaker can be a long-term addition to West Seattle.
Delicious, decadent, wonderful date night or celebration spot. So glad to have somewhere with diverse, inventive cuisine in the junction. A gem! I think some kinks are getting worked out with service, but it was clear the team rallied to help one another and the food was delectable. Can’t wait to go back!
Delicious! Our waiter customized our order all himself. Flavors & presentation were outstanding.
We shared dungeness crab salad, heirloom tomato, fusilli, and duck. All were plated beautifully and were so delicious. Server Jeff was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and attentive. Can't wait to return.
I love everything about this place. Great menu, ambiance, and service.
We enjoyed our first trip to Haymaker and look forward to coming back to try more dishes. We made a reservation and didn't have to wait at all. The menu items are very much intended to be shared, which we didn't really do, so next time we'll probably try to follow the rules better to have a more balanced meal. But overall it's a great location with a cool vibe and great service and food.
Absolutely, and Terrence is a perfect waiter, timing, consideration, knowledge!
Each dish we ordered was very delicious. Service was impeccable. Seating was comfortable. I feel their prices are a bit high but I would eat there again on a special occasion.
We've been looking forward to trying Haymaker since it opened. Love having another fine dinning option in the neighborhood. Our first visit did not disappoint. Sevice was friendly and attentive. The pork collar was exquisite and the chicken was very good as well. We enjoyed the wine and cocktails too. Will definitely be back.
I was hoping they had a bit more pescetarian or vegetarian options... Server was a bit... Like we were wasting his time. And they had one type of oyster... Which was a bummer. The drinks and food were delish. I'll be going back for a 2nd opinion soon.
Very nice room and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was quite good; very fresh and reasonably priced. Given the hard surfaces I'd suggest a reduction in the volume of the background music but at the same time I applaud the lack of television sets in the bar.
They have to get some shades in the front windows, the sun was very bright.
The service, the starter dishes and the pasta dishes were spectacular! Pork collar dish was very good. The black cod was so so. But all at all a particularly nice dining evening.
Food was good but service was slow and unfriendly - very disappointing
