So delicious. Great atmosphere!
The dining experience was very good. The food was excellent. Wait staff was on point all night loved the atmosphere and drinks were strong.
Downstairs dining is nice but we were put at a table upstairs by the HVAC ducts - wasn't pleasant. Experience wasn't good and food was just ok. Won't go back.
Mother’s Day brunch
From the sleek yet comfortable atmosphere to the indulgent takes on familiar food, Haymaker provides an excellent dining experience. Their jalapeño biscuit demands that you slow down to savor every flaky, decadent bite. Seriously. The Eggs Benton was delicious as well - salty and filling, the ham and greens brightened up with tomato gravy. Service was lovely; our waiter was attentive and the meal was perfectly timed out from drinks to food to check. Haymaker has struck exactly the right balance between Southern comfort and sophisticated style.
Shrimp and grits are the best ever! The Duck was one of the best we’ve had.
We had two parties of 7 each and the staff were accommodating to our needs, specifically the hostess. Amazing brunch food and is highly recommended.
The food was great and the atmosphere was nice and easy to talk.
Our server was great, we sat near the kitchen and watched the chef finish the plates. A new favorite for us!
Fresh and amazing menu. As a vegetarian new to Charlotte, there is always something wonderful on the menu for me to eat and enjoy.
We live in Uptown and occasionally walk to Haymaker. We alway have a great meal here. Sunday night we tried the chicken sandwich (served in the bar). Delicious! Wow......think it is only served on Sundays at 5pm until they run out. The slaw was delicious as were the fries. We love Haymaker!
On the afternoon we went, Haymaker was out of almost everything we at first ordered, including Aperol, grapefruit juice, strawberries and the carrot soup in its entirety. The restaurant also had no vegan offering at all for brunch, and when I ordered the granola without yogurt (as a makeshift vegan offering), the portion size was laughably small. My dining companions also described the french toast as "boring" and the shrimp and grits -- which came with shells on -- as incredibly overpriced ($15 for five shrimp).
In a city with this much competition for food, there are better choices.
My husband and I had been excited to try Haymaker as we had heard a lot about their brunch. Unfortunately our food was not outstanding and the waiter was not happy to be there and it showed.
This is a great Sunday brunch spot! The food is FRESH and amazing!!
Great brunch with recommendations from our server.
Food was great but limited menu
Service was terrible. 20 minutes before they take our drink order and then 20 minutes to get drinks! Excuse - oh we have some big parties - so my experience has to suffer! Not a top 10 restaurant in Charlotte with this attitude!
It’s really loud so if you don’t like a really loud place don’t come here.
Ambiance is a C at best.
Food was excellent but a very limited menu
Wouldn’t come back as all the badness far exceeded the food!
Not a good experience
We were so excited to walk into our reservation at Haymaker. The downstairs is lively and trendy and has a great view of the park. You can imagine our disappointment when we were lead upstairs to a very "dining hall"-esque room for dinner. No view, carpeted floors.. nothing special at all. We spent $100 on one drink each and an okay meal in a very "blah" atmosphere. When we walked back out to leave, there were still empty tables in the pretty downstairs area... very disappointing that we were sat upstairs. If you do eat here, be sure to request a table downstairs! I would recommend Haymaker for drinks at the downstairs bar only.
Having dined twice there, not sure I need to go back. Nice bar scene and not overly noisy but not special. The bread was delicious but they also charged for it - $6 - without telling us. Our server was excellent and tried very hard. VERY long delay between starters and main. Unusual. Our server attributed it to a big party on second floor. Sketchy. Why should we pay the price for that? Our fish was well prepared and not over cooked. The tater tot starter was good but blunt. Our vegan dumpling dish was large and the dumplings were good. I thought it was a bit bland.
Our first reaction to the experience is the one I’ll share: We’ve been to Kindred mulitiple times, and this is the closest thing we’ve found in CLT to that. Wonderful food, attention to detail, and we look forward to returning.
We enjoyed everything about Haymaker except for the noise level. Many hard surfaces in the restaurant made for a loud environment. Even with this, we will return.
Food was great! Very fresh!!! We went for Brunch! Can't wait to try dinner! Service was amazing! Chelsea took care of us and did a wonderful job! Very friendly and very attentive! We will be back for sure!
Were initially seated upstairs, it was extremely hot and they accommodated us by moving downstairs.
Overall, it was an enjoyable evening however the server notified us that the kitchen was closing and if we wanted to order dessert we would need to place an order right away. I then requested a drink as the couple we were with had a bottle of wine to share and needed to finish before we left. He stated that last call for the bar had already occurred. I asked him why he did not notify me as I would like to have another drink as I had had one during the course of our 2.5 hour dinner. He said he should have and was apologetic. Didn’t change the fact that I was never asked if I would like another beverage, then when I requested one the bar was closed. Meanwhile other patrons were sitting at the bar with 3/4 glasses full. An accommodation would have been great as we proceeded to sit there for another 30 minutes so our friends could finish their bottle.
Fantastic! The farm to table is a must. Great cocktails too!
Great service and the food was fantastic! Loved the way farm to table fresh ingredients keep the menu interesting and diverse.
Relaxed environment with attentive but not annoying wait staff.
The meal felt very worth every cent.
Both my companion and I thought our entrees--the pork and the steak--were done to perfection. The side of vegetables was beautifully plated and the blend of herbs made the entire dishes quite yummy. Our waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely go to Haymaker the next time I am in Charlotte!!
Excellent cocktails, wine selection and food was delicious. Server and I forget his name was incredible and an asset to the establishment. One caution to anyone considering the Charcuterie Board: get full description. It is not the normal board and while fresh it fell far below my preconceived expectations. It is not bad but too weird for me and most of my guests to eat.
The food was pretty good, but a bit pricey for what you get. Our server was not in tune to what a gluten free guest needs.
The food was okay, certainly not outstanding and if I'm going to spend $200.00 for a party of four, the food has to warrant that kind of money.
Place was cold as front door kept blowing open...asked manager about keeping door closed. He said he had no control over door. Coffee mug chipped where you drink from. Ordered beignets and weren't given plates to eat them from. Ordered peach schnapps and orange juice...not schnapps...food was just okay. Won't be back as it was $70 for sub-par food experience.
The service was rushed on a Sunday night. Beets were not cooked for the salad and shrimp and grits were average.
The la planche was very salty. But the French toast and jalapeno biscuit is so good
Food (BLT) very good. Server was terrific. Will definitely go back next time in town.
Chef Dissen and his staff are fantastic. We enjoyed a great meal start to finish.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the pork belly and the Mac and cheese. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Would recommend.
It’s an interesting place. Very unique foods that can be a little bit of a stretch. It’s good, but I think they try and do too much with the “uniqueness.”
Excellent service and food.
We had limited time before ACC tourney and so only tried multiple starters. The bottle of wine that our server recommended went very well with our food.
Capitvated by the kitchen table spot at Haymaker. Great to see the chefs in action & really helped us curate our order. The hush-puppies are a must! So are the scallops - beautifully seared and perfectly cooked over pappardelle in a light sauce. Enough to share!
Very nice and accommodating. The food was excellent as was the service.
Our first time here. We are so happy! Truly innovative big and small plates explode with flavor. Nice too look out and see the park. Great service.
