Crispy Pork Belly

wild mushroom ragout, herbed goat cheese, pickled ramps, shaved roots & herbs
Cinnamon Bread French Toast
bourbon macerated raspberries, sorghum butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar
The portion sizes were small. The only way to get full is to invest in a starch- the people that ordered mac n cheese or French fries got full. The rest of us, just made due with that we ordered.
The shrimp croquettes tasted more like cheese sticks that had a fishy flavor. I could not tell that shrimp was actually in the dish. I would suggest chunks of shrimp so the guest knows that what they paid for is included In the dish.
The salmon dish did not seem to be a adequate serving size. I would suggest larger portions. The green sauce in the dish didn’t compliment the salmon. Was a bit too tangy/tart.
Split plate fee. ?
We did enjoy ourselves with the company and decor/environment.
Outstanding food and service. Food was cook to perfection.
Food was delicious, but felt like smaller portions for the price except for the NY Strip Steak. This was a large portion.
Nice location. Food was just okay. French Toast was room temperature like they just sliced a loaf of bread that was sitting on the counter and sat it in a bowl of lukewarm syrup.
Server was nice enough when you could get him to come to the table.
Not what it was our first time . My best friend and I was very disappointed. Probably won’t be returning after this time . Food was cold , portions inconsistent, chicken not cooked well in the friend chicken sandwich. Very disappointed.
Service has gone way down at Haymaker. Disappointing.
With all the respect that restaurants are short staffed, there has to be some sort of acknowledgement that we cannot take but a certain number of diners to be able to put out the quality of food and drink that established your restaurant. Yesterday was a hot mess of a brunch that included a 30 minute wait for drinks from the bar along with food that was cold and lacking any quality. We did our best to be sympathetic diners but after we were repeatedly brushed off, it became apparent that we were not valued customers. We really wanted to like this place but they did everything they could to convince us otherwise.
Really a terrific restaurant. The service was particularly good ( Jackson was our waiter). The food is always excellent and the restaurant has a very trendy vibe to it. Location is perfectly situated with an intimate setting..
Great meal. Great service— thanks to Taylor the poker star. All around excellent.
Haymaker made our reunion after 13 years so special and enjoyable!
Food was cold, quality was not what I expected. Defiantly one of those restaurants that lets you down regardless of bloggers and social media presence.
Unfortunately we will not go back . Menu selection and food.quality were below standard . Outdoor seating is a thing of the past
Great waitress. First day but she made it work well.
Food was ok, but didn’t blow us away. The service was not good. Music was way too loud. Won’t rush back here
The food is awesome. Great service as well.
The food was our worst experience of Haymaker. The restaurant has very nice space and ambiance. The waiter was very pleasant and provided good service. We had 7 people in our party and the only people who liked their meals were those who ordered the burger. Comments at the table from other meals included: the salmon has no flavor, I can’t hardly cut my steak, I can’t even bite through the vegetables, the gnocchi is like a children’s serving. It was definitely the most disappointing meal I’ve had at a restaurant in many many years.
If “bland” was a restaurant….on every level.
Really disappointed about this experience. One of us ordered the pork and it was RAW so raw that even the waiter cringed when he saw it and then another one of us ordered the steak and halfway through discovered a hair in the steak. While both meals were taken off the bill, no one from management came over to talk to us and apologize. It did seem like they were short staffed and I understand the challenges but really bummed about this experience as we had such high hopes.
The best gnocchi I’ve ever had, outstanding service, and a wonderful experience! I want to go back to try the mushroom toast!
Clemson football game!
It must be that they were understaffed and running out of menu items. Our lunch took 2 1/2 hrs and received undercooked food and they substituted sides without telling us. This was happening with every table around us. It was Labor Day Saturday with UGA and Clemson I would think they would be more prepared.
Just ok! Good was slow coming out and was mediocre at best. Both burgers at the table were overcooked. Was very busy w football game and it didn’t seem to be staffed appropriately.
Haymaker offers a fun approach and large portions. Good value!
Food missed the mark.
Went here for a Saturday brunch. We ended up sitting at the bar instead of table. It is a beautiful restaurant and nice vibe! The hostess were extremely sweet. The two bartenders working need customer service training. They were not horrible but one treated patrons noticeably different. It took over 15 mins to get my drink which they forgot about and replied with a smart comment when I mentioned it.
The Butterfly cocktail was great. The food was okay. I wouldn't waste money on the beignets. They very bland. The shrimp and grits were good and steak and eggs were okay.
Again, it is a visually nice restaurant. Loved the bar setting BUT the food could use improvement.
Consider I have never taken my time to write a restaurant review. This was my 3rd or 4th visit to this establishment over the span of about 3 years and it was apparent and disappointing the portions have reduced by what seems like half. While the quality of service, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the high prices have remained consistent, the shrinking portion size effectively lowered my rating two stars. Expect main course “large plates” to be plated with a portion size more appropriate for a starter or children’s meal. We will not be returning to dine at Haymaker on our next business trip.
Great night with colleagues. We stayed late talking and the team was great in allowing us to take the time we needed. Will visit again for sure.
8/22/21 4 of us went for brunch around 12:30. We seated right away with a reservation. The food was delicious! We had the french toast as a table share and I had the eggs Benton. Everything we had was very good! Waitstaff was very attentive and food came out in a timely manner. Can't wait until I am in Charlotte again to eat here!!
Brunch menu was pretty limited and the choices mediocre, especially if you're vegetarian or vegan. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which is really an appetizer, and could immediately tell that the shrimp were frozen by the taste but also the fact that the tails were still attached. All in all, can't say that I'll recommend their brunch to anyone but still have heard great things about the dinner menu so I plan on giving that a shot in the near future.
Loved everything about this brunch!
Such a beautiful restaurant. We made a reservation and still had to wait an hour for our food but the food was delicious & well worth the wait. Great service otherwise. Waiter always kept us informed on our wait and made sure we were comfortable.
We had to wait almost an hour past our reservation time. The price of the food was too high relative to the quality of the food and the dining experience. I expected a lot more for a $22 burger. The appetizers were good.
Great food and service!
We ordered a number of selections for our group of 3 and they were all delicious. We were very impressed with everything and so happy to have chosen this restaurant for our night out in Charlotte.
Good restaurant, with a reservation we were seated promptly and the server was very good. The food and drinks on the menu were top notch, would return!!
We arrived within 30 mins for our reservation with rain pouring down outside. The hostess demonstrated a lack of empathy in correctly pointing out that our reservation was not until the one hour mark. Some folks mannerisms and demeanor is not suited for this position and could have ruined what eventually turned out to have been a great evening. The thoughts of being greeted by this same individual removes any chance of my returning.
Nice place to meet with friends, a bit quieter than most restaurants.
The service was horrible and the food was very underwhelming.
The food was delicious however even with the reservation we still waited 45 minutes for a table. Our server was great but the hostess was MIA
The food and presentation are great, creative cocktail choices if you're so inclined.
We visited for a weekend brunch, really enjoyed the food and bright atmosphere of the restaurant.
