Had a wonderful brunch!
Very disappointed. Food was average at best and for the price, there are plenty of better options now available in Uptown.
Mediocre food at fairly high prices. Just based on food and atmosphere, however, my friends and I would have been perfectly satisfied (although unlikely to go back). The service was awful. Appetizers came out relatively quickly and then we waited for 70 minutes to get our entrees. No explanation; no apologies until we were leaving one of the managers (presumably a manager) gave us a somewhat lame apology explaining that they just got really busy and backed up in the kitchen. At this point the restaurant was maybe slightly over half full. I’ll be shocked if this restaurant is still open in fall of 2020 simply based on how poor their service was
Great spot for brunch. The food was excellent and priced appropriately. We were there prior to a Panther's game and it was busy but staff was still attentive.
Food was great. Haymaker Punch is one of the best cocktails I’ve had in long time. Halibut we delicious.
Service was excellent.
Great overall experience. Great place for dinner with friends if your looking for a change of pace from a traditional restaurant. Great drinks and pretty good food
Good ambience for a business dinner, just the right noise level of noise and commotion, staff is very friendly and amicable.
Solid food, they were a bit overwhelmed so service was slow but our waiter was very transparent about it.
Food was mediocre - service is good but not worth it. Food options are very limited and the coffee is just bad and bitter. Very disappointing.
The restaurant was pretty but that's pretty much where it ended. The haymaker breakfast tasted like everything had been cooked with bacon or bacon fat. I've never had scrambled eggs that appeared black in color. Potatoes were very dry. For 2 people with one alcohol free bloody mary, our bill was $50. That is absolutely insane for two breakfast plates and 2 drinks.
Outstanding meal. Everything was delicious! It was our first time dining here and we will be back!
We were unable to have a cocktail at the bar while waiting for our table because the bar and downstairs were closed for a private event. Pretty disappointing, kind of ruined the "experience". It was hot upstairs and incredibly loud. The food was good and interesting, service was just ok. Probably would not go back.
The food was exceptional. The halibut and hushpuppies were stand outs. The atmosphere and location are sort of corporate - nothing special. The night we went, the restaurant hosted a huge party on the first floor and it was so loud you couldn't hear your dining companion or the waitress. We wanted to order dessert, but couldn't take the noise anymore and left. Ask them if a big party is going on the night you're going when you reserve a table. Not worth it if there is. Go another time.
Service & Food was amazing !
Waitress was horrible. We were there for an hour and a half and she came to our table three times total. It took us 20 mins to get our check. Part of the problem was each server had to make their own drinks from the bar. So, 80% of her time was making drinks for everyone. We were there for brunch on Saturday, so needless to say, almost every table needed bar drinks. Food was amazing though!!
Food was good, but our Pork Shoulder came out cold. Would still go again
Food was just very disappointing after reading reviews. Had to send something back because it was just that bad
We've eaten here several times before and this time did not disappoint. We were eating early on a Friday before the theater so the restaurant wasn't too busy and was relatively. We've eaten here at later times and it's been far noisier. The wait staff were friendly and we were well looked after. Our courses were paced nicely. The cocktails were delicious (Haymaker punch and the cucumber mule) and we had the hushpuppies and Haymaker salad to start. I had the halibut and my spouse had a special pork dish. Both meats were cooked perfectly and the flavors of each dish were delicious. The plates were beautifully composed. We finished with coffee and their chamomile creme brulee - again the custard and carmelized sugar crust had perfect texture. This place is fit for foodies but is not pretentious or fussy.
Everything was perfect. Delicious brunch, great service. Can’t wait to go back!
Food great Service slow But overall great place
Our experience at Haymaker was so-so. Not great, not bad. Just kinda...forgettable. The service was good, as was the ambiance. We had a party of 8, and between us tried about 4 or 5 different little plates, and each guest had an entree. Half of the little plates and entrees were very good, and half were...forgettable. The peach toast was fantastic, but the shrimp and grits, merely ok (and at $15--whoo-boy!). As far as entrees go, the pork shoulder al pastor was absolutely incredible. However, the NY strip was decent, but no where near worth $38. My wife's duck (mid rare) was dry, which is hard to do with duck. All in all, I'd probably give it another chance, but I would not try anything new, because of how hit and miss things are.
Food was amazing! Peach toast app was my favorite. Cool atmosphere
Great farm to table food!
Absolutely amazing dining experience. The food was superb and the service was outstanding
Wow! What a gorgeous space, great location, amazing fresh menu, creative cocktails, everything was fabulous! Only reason I gave 4 stars was the service -- waiter seemed bored, not happy to be there -- no smile and disengaged. When asked about the menu (clarification on the sweetness of a cocktail, spiciness of gazpacho, etc) he pretty much had nothing to add, was not helpful. My daughter asked what nonalcoholic beverages they had besides soda and sweet tea, could they make a cocktail, etc and he was not helpful. The restaurant was empty (5pm Sunday) and the bartender I'm sure would have loved to accommodate but he said they had nothing. We ordered small plates, asked for the salad to come out first and that we were sharing it. Instead all plates came together and he asked AFTER the fact (10 min after they were brought) if that was OK. Too late. He did not fit the atmosphere and I'm sure quality of what you expect.
Everything was great except the portion of shrimp a la plancha. Flavor was on point but 4 shrimp left a bit to be desired, especially after seeing the portion sizes of all the other dishes at my table.
The servers were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. It was our anniversary! It was our first time eating at Haymaker and everything we tasted was great. Pork belly was yummy and the panisse was great. Thanks for a great night.
Everything about the food was fantastic. The restaurant is simply gorgeous inside with a great local menu and excellent wine selection.
Great anniversary celebration! We'll definitely be back!
The food was absolutely amazing! Fresh ingredients, NC/SC sourced. Service was superb!
I had been looking forward to trying Haymaker for a while and was excited that I could get last minute brunch recommendations. Our server was just really annoying and pushy yet didn't check on us much. I also made it clear that I am a strict vegetarian so I would like my fried green tomato sandwich without bacon. It came with bacon on the side in the same plate touching my potatoes and sandwich. In addition, I really wanted the Dutch pancake mentioned in the Charlotte Agenda Best Places to Brunch in Charlotte article but it was French toast on the menu so that was disappointing.
Fried Chicken was under cooked (eg raw)but they replaced it quickly
The food is always great. My biggest complaint is how loud it is. I felt like I was screaming trying to talk to someone just across the table.
Food and service were great. Ambience is great on the main floor. We were sat in the upstairs loft which feels downscale and dull by comparison.
Had a wonderful dinner at Haymaker. You can tell farm to table makes a huge difference. My entrée was more enjoyable because of the freshness and taste of the vegetables than anything else. I have dietary considerations and the kitchen was very open to working with me to find something that I could eat. Drinks were good and service was wonderful. A 5-star experience!!
The food was amazing the tomato jam on the burger was A1. Xavier was super knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs as a large party.
Our server was amazing and the ambiance was perfect for a chill birthday brunch!
Exceptionally prepared good quality food. We have dined all over the world and were very pleased by the wonderful offerings here. We will return when in CLT again.
