Hawthorn Grill Ratings and Reviews
Id give zero starts for the service, lack of attention For safety and ‘problem managing’ if i could. This was our valentines day dinner, we are currently dining at potential restaurants where we would like to have our wedding reception private dinner. We went to Flemings @Summerlin last month and it was excellent, no complaints. I made the reservation here to try out since it’s near proximity to our house and has a very beautiful balcony and private dining area. Everything was ok until my fiance ordered his second glass of beer, drank half and realized there was a CHIP ON THE GLASS w sharp edge exposed- he cant tell if he drank the chip? Or if the content of the beer was glass chip free. When we pointed this out to our waiters attention, we got a very polite apology but wasn’t offered replacement beer, the restaurant manager was no where in sight and when the receipt came, guess what it was STILL ON THE BILL. They werent even busy, half of the place was empty. They lost my business, if they can’t even handle a slow night without serving diners properly, no way im bringing wedding guests here. Id be unhappy if this happened in $fast food, why are w paying $$$finedining to drink potential chipped glass?
Service here is great. You are not overcrowded with waiters, yet someone is always there when needed. We ordered a crab cake to share for starters and for the main meal my wife ordered the TAGLIATELLE PASTA and I ordered the Ribeye with truffle butter. The meals were out quickly, in other words there is no long wait for your meal once it is ordered. The crab cake was delicious and I was almost sorry we did not order another. Our main meal came very soon after we finished our starter. My steak was cooked to perfection and the truffle butter added a lovely dimension that made the meal heavenly. My wife's pasta course had lobster, crab and shrimp in it. She allowed me a taste and I found it rich, velvety and utterly delicious. As much as I enjoyed my steak it is a bit possible that the pasta dish was just a smidge better. Since it was my wife's birthday, a piece of chocolate brownie was brought out for her. This too was great. We like it here and this was our 5th visit since this place has opened.
Service terrible. Waiter never returned to our table. Salmon cold another server brought back to kitchen, where they microwaved it. Never refilled water glasses, never asked if we wanted another cocktail. The worst part is that I CALLED RESTAURANT, EMAILED FOOD BEVERAGE MANAGER, WHO NEVER RESPONDED!! I live in Las Vegas, will never go back.
The service and the atmosphere was nice. However the food was bad. We waited too long to receive our food, then we got the food my steak was overcooked. Then they brought us a new state which was also very chewy considering it was a fillet mignon, it tasted and felt like a sirloin. The manager was very nice and comping our meal, however, he brought Ask Desert to compensate for experiance, but only one of the three items he brought were worth whatever we would’ve paid for them. Not sure he will go there again
I hate having to give a restaurant bad reviews but this place was awful. We came here on new year's Eve because it was the only restaurant with availability. That should have been the first warning sign. Food was overcooked and chewy. The waiter was nice but I suspect it was his first day on the job. Wine was mediocre. At least the bread was good.
We went for NYE and had a lovely meal. Most of us had the prime rib. Was a little disappointed that it was only served with mashed potatoes but it was good and others had the scallops which were wonderful. The bar is very nice and all the employees as well as management were attentive. We would go back.
We went for Lobster dinner. The hot butter fr Lobster dip had a off taste to it. The hot butter must be fresh. The off taste of the hot butter ruined what would have been a great dining experience.
The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. A nice place for a relaxing evening.
Wait staff was very good. Attentive, but not intrusive, and personable. Food was ok, but not worth the price. Lobster tails were slightly under done and not of the size that justified the price. Took too long to get drinks from the bar, and came incomplete the first round. Atmosphere was bland.
I gave it 3 stars, mainly for service. The head waiter, after we ordered, pretty much ignored us. We waited at least 20 minutes for dessert ( we had preordered). I tried to get the head waiter to get me a cup of coffee to no avail. He repeadily passed our table and ignored us. He then presented the bill to us asking if the dinner was ok. We told him we hadn’t received our dessert. He remarked they had given him too many tables this evening ( I guess to pay attention to us). Really, this made things worse. Not sure if we would ever go back.
We eat here regularly and love it! The steaks are terrific - always cooked perfectly! The atmosphere is relaxed. We never feel rushed if we stay after our meal to talk. The manager and wait staff are great! If you ever ate at the Carmel Room, you'll see the same staff here.
