Hawthorn Grill Ratings and Reviews
I brought two very very picky eaters to enjoy a fabulous meal. One is such a picky eater I can't remember a time she did not send part or all of her meal back to the kitchen. I knew with confidence this would not happen this time! This is by far the best steakhouse I've ever been to and my picky friends felt exactly the same way! My granddaughter is super picky and only wanted a salad with nothing but lettuce and carrots and ranch and although it's not on the menu they made it happen! This is really a great establishment I highly recommend them to anyone. Our food was cooked to perfection! Sorry our pictures are half eaten we could not wait to eat it!
Did the brunch option for Thanksgiving. Amazing choices for apps, desserts, fresh fruits and pastries. Limited but creative main course options, but with all the breakfast and app options, it didn't really matter - would go again just for those. Definitely worth the 15 mile drive. Free parking and slots, with a bonus for signing up for a player's card. We will return.
For dinner we both ordered the Strip steak and requested the temperature at medium-rare. The dish came to the table perfectly cooked. Simply put the steaks were delicious. Service was quick and attentive but not overbearing. We really enjoyed this place and we will continue to come here.
I live in the neighborhood and have wanted to try Hawthorn Grill. Went with a date. The bar is fabulous and I highly recommend. My date said his steak (a ribeye) was among the best he's ever had. His shrimp cocktail was somewhat light on shrimp for the price. I had beef ribs which were perfectly done and delish. Service was amazingly good and attentive. Food is terrific as well. But, I loathed the decor. I'm on a date and sitting in the private booth space with black bars and where everything was gray and black. It's very masculine and hard-edged and I found it to be unpleasant. I know there's a beautiful waterfall view but that part of the restaurant had every table filled. The rest looks like a prison.
Great food..reasonable prices...good value....My girlfriend and I visit Hawthorn frequently...Our favorite server is Jonathan....He makes great wine suggestions to compliment our meal...Jonathan is always attentive and makes our dining experience special...
My son and I ordered the New York Strip and my wife ordered the Salmon. Everything was prepared to our liking and I am afraid that there were no leftovers when we were finished. If you are into wine, you will be happy to know that they have a great wine selection to choose from. Enjoy
I took my BFF's mom here for Sunday Brunch. It was amazing. She keeps a mainly paleo diet and there were plenty of options available for her. I loved that I was able to eat from the buffet and get pancakes and waffles to order. It was so quiet when we went, and we had a lovely view of the water. The staff was attentive and quickly brought us anything / everything we needed. I can't wait to come back with friends!
We were regulars at Carmel Rm, and couldn't wait to try the new Hawthorn Grill. It's wonderful! The views, food, live music in bar (Friday's) & great service. Dh & I started with the best Carpaccio we've had in a long time...and lots to "share". Decided on scallops for dinner & they did not disappoint. Sweet, nice crust on top and the corn/spinach side complemented the scallops. Thanks to our server Lee (and cannot forget Terry who still ushers you to your table) our evening was exceptionally special. We will be back soon....maybe to sit outside (gorgeous views).
It seems that the Hawthorn Grill is either hit or missed. 1st time there the salmon was too well done and dried out. 2nd time there everything was delicious including the veal chop I had. 3rd time veal chop was too choey or slightly tough. Brussel sprouts were over cooked and very dried out and hard but the cauliflower was terrific and very tasty. Like stated before it seems to be a hit and miss.
This was one restaurant I wish I never even attempted. The server was really dry and lacked any sort of customer service. I ordered chicken, which was interesting, my boyfriend ordered steak, it was sent back twice and not reordered. The manager was really nice about it, but we left VERY dissatisfied.
I've dined at this restaurant several times and noticed the food is inconsistent. The only reason we choose this restaurant is because of the comp we received from the casino. I guess the restaurant/casino is tightening their belt because the comp options were much less now than when it was the Carmel - bring back the prime rib and ribeye options. If not for the comp, I wouldn't eat at the restaurant - the other hotel restaurants are much better.
We have had breakfast here before but this was our first dinner. The menu is well curated and offers great variety. My husband had the short ribs and I had the lamb. Both were excellent as were our side dishes. We will be making this a regular dinner spot for future trips to Vegas
Went out for dinner on the Saturday evening. The service was really good and all of the waitstaff friendly. The restaurant has a good overall appeal visually and I found the food to be average. There is nothing exceptionally good or bad about dinner itself.
The hawthorn grill was new to us at the JW Marriott. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The waitress especially tended to all of our special requests. The food was good. The offering of Chocolate soufflé was excellent. A grand Marne sauce would have made it even better.
We love the JW and wanted to love our experience at Hawthorn. The service was good and the place looked really nice, especially since they've renovated. However, the food was bland and not worth the high price tag. We had the tuna poke, spinach and artichoke dip, steak, and scallops. All were in need of additional seasoning.
The service was impeccable. The Rampart Casino was a total disappointment. Old and not particularly friendly. However you step into a whole upscale world as you enter the Hawthorn Grill. Skip the casino bars and go directly to the H Grill Bar. The food was delicious, creative and varied.
