Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

The best Sunday roast outside of the UK. Everything is spot on and the service is great. Highly recommended for expats & folks who want a little bit of Sunday dinner served the traditional way in NYC.

Spectacularly mediocre ... especially if you have had a proper Sunday Roast in UK locations ... Completely disappointed with this UK staple. If you have ever had a sunday roast in the UK or eaten at Hawksmoor in the UK, be sure to skip this one. The main dining room and bar are beautiful, but that's about where the charm ends. The service was eh ... We barely saw our waitress ... she appeared to take our order and then at the end of the meal with only limited engagement during the meal. Her vibe was overly perky with an undertone of irritation to have to serve us. Service overall was poor ... we ordered early when the restaurant first opened and watched at least 5 tables of 4 - 8 people who all were seated and ordered after us get their meals much before us. We waited almost 50 minutes for our meals when most other tables waited no more than 30 minutes. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the extended delay. The sunday roast itself was just mediocre. The London sunday roast is far more flavorful and can better accomodate allergies. The NYC location just leaves out key portions of the meal for those with an allergy and no offer to substitute. Additionally, portion size was quite small in general and smaller than what was received in the UK. Grateful that I had a credit card that reimburses me for most of this meal, as if I had paid $250 for this lunch, it would have been more painful. If you are looking for a place that gives you sub par services, treats you like a tourist who they will never see again, mediocre food for a high price ... this is your place. If you value a good meal in a city that has tons of options for good food ... go some place else.

Hawksmoor is a stylish and swank Steakhouse but the food is lackluster, the cuts small, the meat cooked to an inaccurate degree, and the servings much too small for the high prices they offer. I ordered the $160 Shellfish Tower and it was tiny for that price, the variety and shellfish was excellent though. The Sourdough with Cultured butter was awful and again lacking in fair size for both the bread and butter. The $70 Ribeye was thin and tiny and badly cooked. The Bone Marrow Gravy was lacking in Bone Marrow, it was thin and bland. I will not be back.

Great experience overall. I tried to scallops, shrimp, bone marrow and ribeye. All of it was excellent. Will definitely return again.

A very attractive and posh steakhouse but it is extremely loud. Our food and service were very good but unfortunately the value just isn’t there. It’s almost like they are seeing how high they can go on the prices before we balk. I’m balking.
