   As always, a delicious meal but as always the waiting staff do the hard upsell and yet again finish up ordering way more meat than necessary. They should accept the initial order without upselling as this just leaves the customer feeling a bit ripped off. We bought the extra meat home but if I’d stuck to my guns we’d have ordered the correct amount at a much more affordable price However the food is of a high quality. The starters are huge and it should be made clear that one is enough to share between two. Likewise the side dishes.

   Far too expensive for what we got. We ordered two starters, shared a chateaubriand, fries, and a Caesar salad. We also had a sauce each, and four drinks. Two alcoholic, and two non—alcoholic and it came to £241 including a 12.5% service charge. The food was nice, but it wasn’t the best steak I’ve ever had. Enjoyed the meal, but probably wouldn’t go back.

   I’ve eaten at the Edinburgh hawksmoor before and really enjoyed it. This time, not so much. Our waiter can only be described as personality-less. Absolutely no interest in serving us or being there. The quality difference between two steaks (same steak type, size and cook preference ordered) was a big difference. Would go elsewhere next time.

   We notified Hawksmoor about our wedding anniversary did not even get a mention especially we were asked if we had any special requests when we booked the table it might sound childish but why ask the question in the place

   Expensive for what it was. Menu confusing too. Ordering steak by the weight which was in grammes. Who actuallky knows what size steak in grammes average person has. Ordered bread to table which never came. They messed up side orders. In fairness didn’t charge. Waiters too casual. Looked untidy in their own casual clothes. £19 for a Bramble cocktail- come on! Having said that, food beautifully cooked and really comfortable restaurant. Relaxing. If you don’t want steak, avoid

   Excellent steak and Sunday lunch! This is our favourite steak restaurant in Edinburgh. The cocktails are amazing also. A must visit.

    We had a smashing Sunday roast. The food was tasty and rich, the Yorkshire pudding huge and the gravy absolutely superb. The staff was friendly and very helpful and we also had a free chocolate candy topped with gold to celebrate our marathon success. Very nice setting, worth the whole price.
