   Excellent cocktails. The shrimp cocktail was also unique and very tasty. Steak was great. Swordfish was really incredible though.

   Absolutely amazing. Quality, energy and service were top-notch. Our server Oscar was attentive and knowledgeable on the menu and all the different options available. We will be back for a Sunday Roast!

   Came for happy hour. Was very slow. By the time drinks came, the happy hour was half over. They comped the drinks and were friendly but didn’t come around often. It’s a newer place so maybe they are working out the kinks

   This is the second time I have been to Hawksmoor. I previously dined there around their opening and was underwhelmed so hoping that things have improved. Unfortunately, the food is just ok - cuts of meat are solid but I found the steak to be underseasoned/bland. The sides likewise were ok but nothing special. That’s the issue - it’s ok but unremarkable when compared to the many great steakhouses in Chicago. And, to top it off, the added an extra bottle of wine to our bill which we thankfully noticed as we were about to give back our signed receipt.

   The steak was wonderfully flavorful. Sides and starters were tasty and generously portioned. The restaurant was at about 80% capacity and noise level was noticeable. My only somewhat negative observation is that seafood options were a bit limited in variety. Service was friendly and more than accommodating. The waiter mentioned several times that if an option we were considering turned out to be not of our liking they would change it out for us (e.g., one of their specialty cocktails).

   Beet salad was excellent. They understand how to cook a delicious and juicy well done steak. Veal chop was fantastic. But the mashed potatoes were simply amazing Excellent service with one small hiccup that the restaurant took care of.
