Hawks Ratings and Reviews
Great restaurant. It was our first time and it was fabulous. We went to the Sunday Supper, a four course meal for $45.00 per person. Now that's what I call a bargain. The food was fantastic. We have been meaning to try Hawks for years, but we live 30 minutes away. It was well worth the drive. On top of the great food, the service is outstanding and the ambiance is beautiful. This is a first class restaurant and we will be coming back.
I usually like this restaurant very much, but my last meal there was not very good and the service was so mediocre. I have dined at Hawks frequently and have had the Sunday Supper Fried Chicken before and found it very good, which is why I went back again for it. This time the chicken was burnt, everything was greasy, and the dessert was so-so. I was so dissappointed. The soup was good. The server was not that attentive, never checked back to see if we needed anything. It took forever to get the check because multi-tasking seemed impossible....why a person cant stop to check on your table as they are going to refill a water is confusing to me. I will go back but probably never again for the chicken dinner. Not a winner winner this time.
The restaurant staff have a pretentious attitude, with no good reason.
Expect long waits and snotty service.
Being dressed In a suit and ordering a $175 bottle of wine did not improve the service attitude.
The food was good and bad, the duck was excellent, the steak was poor.
The manager did try to recover on the steak, but our patience was exhausted.
I could be a nice local restaurant with an improvement in service.
Menu is limited.
Fresh romaine for caesar salad with exquisite dressing and shaved parmesan cheese. Steak cooked exactly to order was choice cut New York. Waygu beef burgers with Shitake mushrooms cooked to order with great French fries. Service was attentive and professional. Excellent lunch. Good joint with well stocked bar full of great bourbon.
We are Hawks' advocates. Great food as always. Got a little nervous at the beginning as the service was a little slow to start, but things improved as the dinner progressed. Our server seemed stretched at the start, but we are glad that things got better since we brought 4 out of town guests with us .
As always, our dinner and service was excellent. Also, we greatly appreciate the little extras we received (i.e. shot glass of mushroom soup, small desert plate with "Happu Aniversary" written on the plate in chocolate). We are NEVER dissapointed - our favorite restaurant.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. I expected the staff to be upbeat and friendly. They were cordial and answered our questions regarding the menu and wine list. The chicken and salmon lacked seasoning and the brussel sprouts were very oily. Not a place I would visit again.
We enjoyed a dinner with out of town house guests. They commented the dinner was as good as any experienced in their home city, Denver. Two of us had butternut squash soup. It was great and prompted a debate about the wonderful seasonings in it. The chicken was praised but the duck confit was OK. The deserts were five star with the pear soufflé leading the pack. The room was loud and could use addition of some soft surfaces to dampen some of the background noise.
My wife and I had a great time soaking up the atmosphere and indulging in food and wine. Our server was Tony, he truly made you comfortable and could answer any questions you had ... probably could tell you who was in the group “The Iron Butterfly.” We loved Hawks and will return:-)
Food was excellent. We had soup and burgers plus dessert. Service was superior. The waitress knew the menu paid attention to detail and allowed us to enjoy a visit with
This is a lovely location. Easy parking, view of a quarry pond and beautiful dining room.
The food was really, really good and so was the service. But the ambiance ruined the experience for me. We were seated within a foot of a large, loud party. We were there for a romantic dinner and we couldn't even hear each other. I also think it's much too bright in the restaurant. The lights aren't dimmed at all - seems like more of a setting for a family restaurant instead of a restaurant for couples. I spent $180 on dinner on a special birthday dinner for two and I don't feel like I got money's worth. I wish we had gone to Morton's or Ruth's Chris instead.
My wife and I celebrated an anniversary and dinner at Hawks made it especially enjoyable. I had fresh made pasta and my wife enjoyed the Salmon. Both of the dinners were great and left no room for improvement. Our starting salads were great, fresh and crisp. We both enjoyed peach tarts for dessert and they were fabulous. The service was just what you would want - our waitress, Mackenzie, was attentive and helpful but did not hoover around or intrude on our dining experience.
The food was amazing! We loved everything we tried, including the beer and cocktails. The server took great care with my order as I can't have any dairy of any kind. The restaurant was busy and groups around us were loud, so we had to speak up to be heard. My only issue/disappointment was the amount of time it took to get anything. As the night progressed it seemed to take even longer to get that after dinner drink... perhaps they were short staffed. I do plan to go back as the food was exceptional!
We had the Sunday special and enjoyed both the meal and the wine selection. Our server and all the staff were excellent. The salad and the soup were both exceptional. The fried chicken was wonderfully crispy, but my wife said it was not as flavorful as the fried chicken I make at home. Her comment surprised me as I am just an average cook. The poached pear desert required a steak knife to cut, but it was good. Overall, the meal was excellent, but a few things might need improvement. Thank you, Hawks. We really enjoyed our evening. Compliments also on your wine selection for this dinner.
