The main room gets too noisy, but the food is absolutely amazing! The halibut was simply perfect, and their beignets are light and delicious, as always.
This our go to place for special occasions. The food and service are always superb aThis restaurant is definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in the Sacramento metropolitan area
This place is pricey but it's worth every penny. The food is incredible and the presentation beautiful. It was my husband's birthday and he enjoyed it. We learned a lot about fine dining at its best. The waiter answered all our questions and even ask if we had any food allergies.
Perfect date night. Always worth every penny. Quality over quantity.
I don’t understand why I have to pay $30 for corkage. Everything else was great, but the server should have told me about this charge which is well over the norm for the area!
Halibut was outstanding. Staff attentive, friendly and helpful.
This is our 3rd visit to Hawks. The food was very tasty but it was served cold. I had to ask for a warm-up on my two reticent visits. I was surprised to receive cold food in a nice restaurant such as hawks. The portions are very small and pricey. Maybe a happy hour bar menu would allow a patron to walk away satisfied with a good meal and not feel the empty pocket book . No vegan options. Warm food is the most need improvement I left with though.
Food was great. But the service was slow and the room was extremely noisy....mainly from the bar area where they had a basketball game going on with a lot of cheering. Our table was by the big door that slides open and I think people went in and out of that room 15 - 20 times for a group party. The big door sliding right by our table made it even noisier and disruptive. It was very difficult to visit with our clients whom we were there to celebrate with. Usually we have a great experience, but not this time.
Hawks is our favorite restaurant in the region. This was our third visit within three weeks and we have yet to have a complaint, been there dozens of times. Key word is value.
A good budget with drinks and all in is $100-$150 per person, and it's worth more. Given the ambiance, especially with the outdoor seating, the service, and superb chef driven cuisine, we don't know of a better value anywhere.
Fantastic food, service was perfect. Will definitely celebrate special occasions at Hawk’s again!!
Went for lunch. Tablecloth was dirty. Booth was dirty. Service very slow even though restaurant not crowded. Had to ask for bread. Had to interrupt two bus boys talking to get a refill on iced tea (which had been empty for about 15 minutes). Sandwich was dripping in grease. Chicken salad delicious. Spring pea bruschetta was incredibly delicious.
We have dined at Hawks for dinner recently and the service was impeccable along with amazing food. Lunch was a big disappointment. I had brought a friend to celebrate her birthday and was embarassed.
Amazing food, friendly staff and great ambience! Definitely plan to go back soon!
Hawks never disappoints. Our favorite restaurant in the Sacramento area.
Bartender who was our waitress was amazing, friendly and very kind lady. We had a great time thank you
Food and presentation were top notch. Staff was exceptional. I highly recommend Hawks.
I'll begin with the positive- the service was great. The food was horrible. We had the Fried Chicken dinner. The split pea soup was good, but too salty. The fried chicken had such a hard fried crust on it that it was almost impossible to chew it. The inside of the chicken was not cooked through. The coleslaw- awful. It was room temperature, soggy, and too salty to eat. The cornbread was good. Then the dessert. My husband's dessert was fine, but the 3rd bite into my cake gave me a spoonful of crunchy salt. I thought I would try the other side of the cake and got the same thing. I was able to spit out crystals of salt. My husband had his meal paired with wine, but each glass had only a quarter of a cup in it. For $20 more, we were thinking we would get a normal sized serving of wine. The dessert wine was only 2 tablespoons. I'm not sure if there was a new chef on board who was a little heavy handed with the salt shaker that day, or if this is normal for Hawk's. After a bill of $140, including tip, we thought the meal should have been better. We travel a lot and dine at very nice restaurants, so we were expecting something a little nicer than what we received. We are not a snobby couple, but I do have to say, we will never dine at Hawk's again.
Once again, Hawks wow'd our SF Peninsula relatives with a great meal and service. We're coming almost weekly now....no need to drive to Sacramento for fine dining. As a bonus, not only is the service excellent but it is friendly. Keep up the good work!
Wonderful meal and service
A big contrast from our last visit, portions were much better, we got the seating we had requested also. Very delicious meal, very attentive server.
The food is delicious and I always enjoy every bite. The portions are not large, and the price is not cheap, but I am always full when we leave. The service is fantastic. This is a special occasion restaurant for us, but well worth the expense.
Always consistently wonderful!
Always an amazing experience. Met new staff...Chad and Dane. Wonderful people!! Thank you!
Dined Easter Sunday set menu dinner. Lovely, as always. The reason of a a 4 score on Food: on the website I believe I read the grilled lamb with morel mushrooms...yet when I arrived the menu showed black trumpet mushrooms. (I realize changes occur given changing availability conditions.) A disappointment for my wife and I as we spend time in the Oregon Cascades where morel collecting in spring is much anticipated. That aside, great service (Chad, our waiter a true professional), excellent pacing; only Hawks and The Waterboy are our restaurants of choice.
Salmon was so salty, I was asked by the server why I didn't give them an opportunity to switch it out. They should know that much seasoning means something is wrong with the fish. I won't go back as a single seated at the restaurant I got significantly less service than a table with a couple.
We are becoming g a bit disillusioned with Hawks after having visited them numerous times. Our last visit started out fine (we both had ordered the Chefs Tasting menus with the accompanying wine pairing). Service was fine until half way through when the restaurant filled up and our server was unable to bring our various dishes in a timely manner. The first three courses were presented promptly and paced adequately and were very tasty. When it came to the fourth course, the Almond Wood Grilled Prime Striploin, we waited an inordinate amount of time and unfortunately the meat was very tough - both of us thought so. We talked to the Maitre D' (Manager) who inexplicably responded that " it does not look tough - are you sure". We felt this was a very inappropriate response. He then replaced this order which we finally ended up taking home as it still was too tough and because we had waited for too long. Likewise, we decided to take the desert home also as the evening had become too long. Overall, a disappointing experience considering we paid $360 for two people.
Epic experience, thank you
Had the fixed price multi-course dinner, excellent variety of fresh seasonal dishes. We’re coming back next week w/friends - that says it all
Best restaurant in the county without any doubt. Absolutely fantastic!
Hawks was an amazing experience. My wife and I went for our anniversary and We were blown away. Great job guys! I look forward to our next visit!
I was so disappointed to spend this much for lunch
Well, it went bad from the start
They served me the wrong order , when clearly I discussed what I wanted with my server
Had to send it back .. it took awhile, which i was disappointed to have to sit for along time
Then the salad was extremely over dressed
I saved some of the salad and told the server and was told “ sorry”
I just wouldn’t expect this from a Place as “ Hawks “
Which isn’t a cheap lunch for one
Always quality dining. Can enjoy a consistently fresh menu and good atmosphere here.
Over priced and pretentious! My wife and I ordered a $100 steak and it was not cooked as ordered; 45 minutes after we ordered it. Really? My daughters $30 chicken dish was rubbery and the deserts were especially not special given the prices. I will never go back there again. What am I paying for? It’s in a strip mall and not very special inside.
When our 1 year old decided she’d rather walk around the restaurant than sit in her high chair (yes we brought our baby) we asked if we could move outside and they quickly and graciously moved us without fuss even though the patio was closed. Everyone was super nice and accommodating and the food was amazing. We’ll be back again only without the kid!
Delightful restaurant with great food, service and ambience....upscale but not stuffy.
Great place to take out of town guests. Rotating menu and hand crafted cocktails.
Hawks pays attention to every detail. I’ve even seen them iron table cloths between seatings, when the table cloth was still clean. Leftovers are boxed and given to you at the host table. The food is always exceptional, made with fresh local products. Service is attentive and hospitable. This has become our favorite restaurant in the Roseville - Granite Bay area, and there’s really no other local restaurant that comes close.
Our experience was wonderful with the exception of a not so friendly waiter! He really embarrassed me when I asked to leave the dressing odd the salad ;(. Luckily we were not with business clients. That would’ve have been very embarrassing!
Chad was a fantastic waiter! Food was fabulous!
We were disappointed that they were out of the Fried Chicken as advertised, but we had a great meal regardless.
