Haven Rooftop Ratings and Reviews
Our first night in NYC and we were looking for a fun place with a view. This hit the spot. Roof top in December was awesome. We were warm and enjoyed the view from our table. Our server was excellent, fun attentive and had some great suggestions for our meal. We recommend this fun place near Time Square.
We went on a Saturday it was lightly snowing and the view was beautiful. Our server Federico was friendly and outstanding. The drinks were good but the music was wonderful. The food was really really tasty from the appetizers of crabmeat and avocado to the fish we ordered both the salmon and the sea bass delicious. Even dessert was great. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It is a hidden gem in the Sanctuary Hotel.
So very disappointed, after an hour and a half we left without dinner. The tone was set with the hostess who chastised us for arriving three minutes early. The nerve of us!!! Three minutes!!! We are SO VERY INCONSIDERATE. So perhaps you should disregard the rest since we’re of such poor moral character. The server in the bar was fantastic and working her tail off. I think all of the problems probably stem from the management taking more reservations than the kitchen can handle, as everything was running very behind. At an hour and a half we finally received one of the two appetizers we ordered from the bar server. (Again, kitchen issues not her fault). Our table server, as we did get one around 1:15 after arrival, was very gracious and insisted on not charging us when we asked to pay for the 1 app and drinks so we could then go seek out dinner elsewhere in the city. So some staff experiences were great, some horrendous, and you can bet we didn’t bargain for that level of hassle when we booked a quaint rooftop location for a romantic dinner. That’s not what this is, it’s like an attempt at ski lodge chic yet serves Applebee’s offerings.
Food was good service was horrible. Wait Staff was inattentive and messed up our order. Three of us ate while the other waited for her correct order. When it finally arrived the rest of us were done eating. For the amount we spent I would have expected better service.
Chose the Haven during a weekend theater trip to NYC. Tremendous ambiance. Very Christmas-y atmosphere. Super friendly maitre de. Original table was in the middle of a crowded walkway but they moved us as soon as we asked. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful but also extremely stretched by her large number of tables. Consequently service was extremely slow. Overall, good experience.
The quality of the food and the management was absolutely wonderful. We came here for a family dinner and realized it was a bit too loud to have a conversation. The staff was great and tried to accommodate our needs as best as possible and shifted some tables around so we could sit in a quieter section. It is VERY loud though- beware of the noise if you're planning to have a conversation during dinner
We were stuck in traffic and called to say we would be 10 min late. Restaurant stated that would be ok. We arrived, checked in. They stated they would have a table ready in 10 min and to wait at the bar. 30 min later we rechecked in, they had moved us to no show. 15 min we had to go back to the host stand and ask wth. Another 15 mins later they finally had table ready for us at the top up 2 more flights of stairs. What a joke.
I had invited some friends here for a pre-show drink and snack. Made a reservation for 7 PM and mentioned in the notes that we would like to leave by 7:45 PM to make it to our 8 PM show 1 block away. We were sat at a bar table at 7 PM, but by 7:20 PM no-one had come by to take an order. I had already asked the bartender around 7:10 PM if we should order from him, but he said a server would come by. I ended up having to go to the host stand to ask for help, and they were eventually able to send someone over. The server took our drink order, but only brought two of the three drinks to the table since she had forgotten which beer someone in our party had ordered, so had to go back for that drink also. The ambiance is fun, and the food was tasty- but overall kind of a poor experience. Not a great spot for pre-theater.
This was actually one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. We saw fake snow, the view was amazing, the dishes were delightful and full of flavor. The price for a meal is approx $30- on average. The portions were good. Overall it was authentic and super tasteful.
I took my friends visiting from out of town to Haven Rooftop. I was a littler nervous about it because I had never been here and wasn't sure how the food would be, knowing they wanted a good dining experience and not just a fun rooftop bar. This place exceeded my expectations! It was decorated very nice making it a good atmosphere, our server Anthony was very friendly and helpful, and the food was GREAT!!! Two of my friends split two appetizers for their meal, I got the pan seared crusted tuna with garlic mashed potatoes and my other friend got the filet mignon which she said "This is the best filet mignon I've ever had." We will definitely go back to this place- I would like to see it during the warmer months when it's open and not enclosed!
I went here for a special family occasion of three birthdays while we were visiting NYC. The food was great and the staff did a fantastic job of helping me in surprising my kids and sister with special birthday desserts and made the whole night really special. Really friendly staff here, fantastic food (steak au poivre was top class). Thanks again to Frederico - top class service.
The kitchen had run out of what I ordered by 6:15 p.m.. Despite telling the hostess we have theater tickets twice, we were never brought the pre-theater dinner menus. We were also told would have to wait for seats despite having a reservation and notifying them that we have theater tickets
We had so much fun took the kids there after a day of museums. The view was spectacular and the staff extremely attentative and just nice people. I recommend to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy good food and enjoy being in the heart of Times Square viewing the sites.
Went with a friend without knowing anything about this restaurant. It was really quaint and fun. All the servers were dressed in Day of the Dead Mexican makeup. They were attentive and fun. The food was clean and delicious. The drinks were on point and we had a great roof top experience. Fun place for a lively date w good food.
