Was not out on rooftop like I reserved it
At best it was just ok. Went there for Saturday brunch. The catch for most people is the rooftop atmosphere. However, it’s a rooftop in a sea of larger buildings. So, do not expect beautiful views of a skyline. The food was good, not great. The service was nothing special. In the end just felt like a tourist spot. Not a bad place but not a great place either. If you want outdoor dining and drinks near a show, it’s probably worth the visit. Don’t forget to get reservations if you want to go. It’s a spot a lot of people try to hit.
It was an amazing experience like no other ,this place was amazing and I was truly impressed.
Opened late even though we had a 4pm reservation. Expected to have a small table since we had a reservation but were only given a bench seat 3 feet from the bar with no privacy at all. I would not go back.
The filet mignon was exquisite. Also liked their decoration.
Very good Food but Cocktails not worth the value, view was not that good, will choose other location next time
Excellent food, service and view.
The service and food was great Flawless but just wish the can take care of the cold breeze.
I was always recommended this restaurant.
Way too load to call this a romantic dinner venue.
Everything was excellent but at the end I realized I had lots of glass pieces in my drink ..
Way too noisy! Food and service good. 20 something crowd. Not relaxing.
A reservation is a must. But even with one, don’t expect your table to be ready. The hostess stand was unorganized. They asked me seven times for my last name. The food was unimpressive. The noise level was unbearable. The decor looked worn and cheap. And tables were crowded. The wait service was nice and friendly.
Access is very challenging, we waited 20 minutes on line to get into elevator. Would have been good to know that ahead of time. Other than that it was great, I’ll be back.
Place was crazy busy on a Thursday night after work. Had drinks in bar area then went to our table for dinner. Food was surprisingly very good. I had the mussels and fries; my husband had the roasted chicken. Both were delicious.
The only annoying thing was they ran out of wine glasses . I ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress brought us plastic glasses. In the end I had to settle for little water glasses but better than plastic!
Had another great visit to The Haven Rooftop. Everyone always seem very eager to make sure your time there is wonderful.
The food was superbly prepared. The cocktails exquisite.
If you want a nice pleasant place for a wonderful meal, set your sights high and head up to The Rooftop. It truly is a haven.
Food was delicious. Seating around the windows for the rooftop view was good for the view but not cozy. Music could have been lower. Service was good
Arrived early (post theater) for 5:30 reservation. When asked if special occasion hubby replied yes, it’s my birthday. Hostedss replied Happy Birthday, but that was the end of any other special occasion acknowledgement. Seated promptly at windows with view over St Mary’s church and of side street construction; across from a very busy kitchen service window. Cocktails listed at $16– But we order ‘on the rocks’ bourbon and vodka— also $16 for minimum pour.
Menu choices good- one opted for $49 pre-fixe (til 7pm): lightly fried calamari, salmon with lentils , chocolate mousse dessert. Other ordered a al carte sautéed mushrooms app, grilled branzino entree ($36) No bread was offered.
Service courteous and food arrived in timely manner. Calamari was very chewy and tough. Both fish entrees tasty and well prepared. After 6pm our area got very busy and staff seem hurried and overhead music speaker got louder. Chocolate mousse was horrible, pasty, waxy, thick with fake tasting ingredients. No birthday candle!! Check presented with $10 increase in salmon prefixe plus addl $5 for who knows what. Server apologetically corrected it saying he mistakenly entered as a la carte selections
We are locals so generally avoid anything but Bway shows around this area. But this is a good place in Times Sq for a drink at the rooftop bar lounge where the views and seating are preferable. Give the regular dining a miss- and beware of upcharges- mistakes or not. This IS Times Sq after all, where hustling is a pastime.
Not as lively as previous visits
Great views! We had the filet mignon and roasted garlic mashed potatoes...they were out of this world!
Reunion. Great venue. Main level pretty loud but wonderful ambience. We were on the top level, which is a bit of a climb up a steep stairway, but quiet and very private.
I went there for brunch and we had a great time. All waiters and hotel personnel were very nice, the ambience was great and food was delicious.
The view isn´t great and I suppose the decoration works better at night, but still is a very cool, nice place.
We were excited to try a rooftop restaurant for our most recent visit to New York with our teenage children. I was not looking for especially fine dining so this seems like a good place to go somewhere with a view and a relatively diverse menu. When we arrived, the downstairs area was extremely loud filled with many people at happy hour and loud music. That’s not normally a problem but we were definitely relieved when they took us to the very top level to be seated for dinner.
They were three tables up there and although it was quieter. We didn’t seem to get very much attention from our waitress. She was very nice but she had three tables who have been seated at the exact same time as ours. It was hard to get her attention to remind her about drinks, water etc.
The food was not especially memorable. My daughter got a margarita pizza which tasted like pizza quick put on store-bought dough. My other daughter got a steak which was very over cooked, and my mother-in-law got a crabcake which did not taste fresh at all. The bright spot was that I got the kale salad which was very delicious.
Our dinner, with two alcoholic drinks for the adults, and one appetizer, was over $230 and was not at all what we expected.
PS, the view was not especially great because it was simply just see many city buildings around you.
We stopped in on a Friday night before a show. It was fun. The menu was not extensive but there were enough choices to keep everyone happy. Pricing was moderate for NYC (about what you would expect). The tables were extremely close together, we had to squeeze by other tables to get to our table. There were noises from the bar area where it sounded like everyone was having a great time, but not so loud that it interrupted our conversation at the table. The meal portions were average size and everything was good. I would not recommend this place for a table larger than 6, nor for a date night, just a little too tight. It did make a fun beginning for a theatre night for a family of 4.
The photos of this space are entirely misleading. It's supposed to be all about the views, which are blocked in most every direction you look. The staff was super friendly and the food was unexpectedly good. But, I really came for the view and what appeared in all photos to be a quite, elegant space - not for the frat party vibe.
It was amazing...
Great service. Decent food. Would have preferred a larger wine selection. Will definitely be back for pre-theater bites.
Great view of city, great service and food!
We went for just appetizers and drinks. We ordered the buffalo wings which were underwhelming. I'd hoped for more scenic views, too.
We went to Haven Rooftop Restaurant for Easter Brunch. The food was great and the rooftop experience was very cool. Definitely would recommend.
Easter Brunch with bottomless sangria was amazing!
Great food and atmosphere, even though it was busy for Easter brunch it wasn’t too loud at all. The value of the food was great as the flavor was amazing. Only thing was the mixed drinks were a bit pricey.
It was okay. Not the worst. Not the best
Excellent and fun Vibe with a gorgeous presentation of dishes! Waitstaff is extremely attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely return, and often!
It was a horrible experience. The heat was blasting. There is construction being done so there is pounding noise. One we were sat it took 10-15 min for anyone to greet us. The food is extremely overpriced. We ordered two bloody mary's that had been sitting out in an open container and tasted like they poured ketchup in to a wine glass. There are no substitutions allowed for the menu so if you are vegetarian do not come here. There were 1-2 waiters working all tables. We decided to cancel our order and leave. People that were there noted they had been waiting for their food for an hour. We were charged for the 2 cups of ketchup $14 a piece. Will never go here again or recommend this place to anyone!
Service was terrible. The servers had no idea who was going to take over sections when others went on break. We were left without service for a solid 25 minutes. Had to flag someone down every time which I hate doing because I am a server myself and I find that to be rude but in this case it was absolutely necessary. Ordered a pitcher of sangria that we didn’t get until we asked about it a few more times. We had the calamari appetizer, wontons, and lobster roll. Everything had clearly been frozen and had very little taste. It wasn’t cheap either. $55 for a pitcher. Other guests were also coming up to the bar asking for simple things like refills. Clearly there was no management on the floor. Servers were socializing with one another and on their phones blatantly in front of guests. This place really needs to get its act together. The rooftop and ambiance was lovely but in no way made up for the terrible food and service. I will never go back and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
Very touristy spot. They forgot part of our order. Food was very salty but the actual space it’s was pretty
Beautiful dining experience. The floor to ceiling glass windows give you an amazing view of the city while the hanging lights and flowers still make it incredibly romantic and intimate.
Everyone is polite and courteous. As soon as we walked into the hotel we were greeted and shown to the elevator that would take us to the restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The only downside was the waitress did not listen to my question about beer and brought me an ale instead of a lager. I explained that this was not what I wanted but I was charged for it still.
The food was fantastic!! Plates were sent back empty!
Frederic our server was amazing!!! He was knowledgeable, made spot-on suggestions and help make our overall experience at Haven Rooftop exceptional!!
The entire staff was great and I plan on going back soon!!
Excellent food. Fast service. Attentive wait staff. Will definitely return.
