Great service, ambiance was great as well.
On a stormy evening, The Haven literally was a haven. Our server was most accommodating, and the view -- even in gale winds, rain and fog -- is priceless. My sole reservation about the Haven is that tables are fairly close to each other, and, given the hard surfaces of the decor and the proximity of other diners, the noise level can reach high deciles. If some of the other diners are less than considerate, it can be difficult to communicate -- even with a single partner who is sitting across from you.
Overall the food was spectacular from starter to finish. However, the service was not the greatest. Our waiter kept paying more attention to the party that was setting next to us. He was not attentive, did not make any suggestions/recommendations and never once checked up on us or our food. Not sure if the service was influenced by our race or what but the restaurant was not overly busy at the time my family and I were eating.
Great outdoor seating. Service was average. Food was exceptional. Check with your server if you have any dietary restrictions before placing your food orders.
Overall, the food and the ambiance was great. Also the restaurant has an amazing view of the city, I will definitely go back.
Love it, good food
Great view of Manhattan skyline, good food and service BUT Haven has become very pricy. Simple meal for 3 people with one drink each but no desserts tallied up to $250 after gratuity.
It was good. Just confusing between both the hostess and waiter helping. But good overall
I have dined at Haven often and I have found the whole experience to be hit or miss. Fortunately, this last visit was good. I think much relies on who is doing the cooking that day. Front of house staff very nice and gave us a primo table. You are hard pressed to find a better view at sunset! The Valet Parking is extortion.
We enjoyed an Easter/Birthday lunch at Haven on Easter Sunday. There was a price fixe menu with plenty of options. I was a bit apprehensive about having a holiday meal at a restaurant. My experiences in the past (at other restaurants) haven't been great. But this was lovely! The host at the door was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was friendly and professional. They didn't overcrowd the restaurant for the holiday, so there was plenty of room and we weren't sitting right on top of our neighboring diners. All of our meals arrived hot, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. They even had a special holiday cocktail - the bubbly bunny - that was delicious! It was a wonderful experience starting with the staff, continuing through to the atmosphere, and culminating in the food!
I have enjoyed eating at Haven many times and went last weekend for the fixed price Easter Menu. I have to praise the host/hostess staff for being so accommodating. The other person in my party had car trouble on their way the restaurant, and the staff was kind enough to still seat us even though it was an hour past our reservation time. As usual, the food was delicious! We had the lobster/risotto arancini and ahi tuna on crispy rice cakes for our appetizers. The Bronzino entree was perfectly prepared and as was the skirt steak. My only surprise was that our beverage was not included as is typical on their weekend brunch menu. Assume this was because of the Easter holiday.
This was the first time we were here and the views were lovely as it overlooked the water. We were there for Easter brunch so the menu was a fixed menu but the food was excellent. Will definitely return. They also have outdoor seating.
Great service, good food
It was my husband ‘s bday and we were excited to spend an special eve at waterfront restaurant. We were greatly disappointed with the services at this restaurant. We waited for over an hour for the food. My 7 year child was starving so we requested to send at least pasta for her but we didn’t receive any food even after asking several times. Each time we received a response that we apologize for the delay and food will be served soon.
The others who arrived after us received their food .
Granted that Manager apologized and offered 10% discount but that doesn’t give us the moment back :(
We dined at Haven for our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious (short ribs and filet mignon) and service was great.
First time here. Read a lot of great reviews. We weren't disappointed! My only gripe is the portion sizes for all our meals: small. Food tasted fantastic though. We will return.
Food was delicious. Food spectacular and service was excellent.
Wow, great food , ambience and scenic view.
Food great presentation and ample amount.
Had lunch with my wife on a quiet afternoon. Service and food were better than expected. Thank you to all of you for a very nice experience.
Food was tasty, ambiance was good, service was good.
The only negative is that for the second time the food arrived look warm or cold.
Always consistently good... what s pleasure
The food was good, the service was good but the noise level was unbearable. We could not even hear each other talk. If you like lost of noise go here, if not stay away.
Fantastic service and great food. The location on the Hudson River is a plus. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
The food was very good. The portions were on the small side.
Everything was just lovely! Amazing views of NYC skyline is a bonus, but the food was so yummy! Thanks for making my day special.
Always great food and wonderful service. Beautiful ambiance right on the water. One of Edgewater's best restaurants. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
My salmon was under done and my dates shark stake was small. Also the server did not explain the meal and I feel It was over price.
Was great! A little to close to the kitchen and wait staff area, but other than that great.
My husband and I had a magnificent time. Food was great, service was wonderful and the table by the window had an amazing view.
This is the most mediocre restaurant in the neighborhood the food is very uninspired and pricy. It's in a good location which is the only reason I ever go there but an always underwhelmed. The staff is always new and while they try they never seem to get it right
They served the worst no frill soda I have ever tasted! I've dined here in the past a d assume they changed ownership. For as beautiful a restaurant it is or nice service, please take some pride in serving the best to your clientele. I'm paying for quality and though the food was okay, it was better in the past. The cola and the ginger ale was HORRIBLE. Try serving Coca-Cola or Pepsi beverages or don't serve soda at all. Or better yet, make the owners taste the poor quality refreshments with their next dinner. The chocolate croissant bread pudding was delicious. I will give it another chance on my next visit.
Nice restaurant. Excellent service. Good food. Enjoyable experience.
This was a great place. It had a great view of the city, very quiet and romantic. The food was beyond delicious. Our server was very polite and courteous and on point. He seemed to know when to stop by the table. Overall my wife was amazed by this place, so because of your establishment she felt very special. Thank You for an epic experience. Will be coming back for sure.
Haven was amazing as always. It was so great, I wanted to propose a 2nd time there!!!
Went for Valentine's Day and it was terrific. Host and waiter were veey pleasant, drinks were great, and food was terrific. It was a great romantic setting, especially since we were seated by the window. Only complaint I have is with "Matt" who answered phone when we were stuck in traffic and I called to say we would be 10 mins late. He threatened to give up our table (despite the reservation made a minth in advance and confirmed the prior day). This created unnecessary anxiety and there were plenty of open tables when we arrived.
Arrived at Haven exactly 1 minute after their "15 minute grace period" to hold a reservation and was told I would no longer be able to get a table for the rest of the night. This despite the front desk all but ignoring me for two minutes. Got seated at an uncomfortable bar stool table right next to an air conditioner vent in the middle of February. Ordered the mac and cheese appetizer which tasted like it came out of a Knorr packet. The short rib main tasted like meatloaf and the risotto had no flavor at all. I wound up taking it home and drowning both dishes in bbq sauce and cheese just to salvage them. My wife's seafood risotto was so salty that she barely touched it, and it stunk up the table. All this for $200. The wait staff was nice enough and I'm sure the view of the waterfront is lovely for those enough who meet the olympic level requirements to hold a reservation, but I still have no idea where the positive reviews are coming from.
Excellent service. Food was delicious, very very good!
Haven is a great brunch spot. I chose this location because I wanted to surprise my friend with something different for her birthday and be on the waterfront. It was rainy and foggy when we went but it was fine. There were two parties going on. One in the private room and the other on the Main dining room off to the side. Great use of space. The food was great. I had the short rib hash with two Bellinis. I was stuffed after the first hash round (it comes with two). I will definitely be back again in the spring/summer. The birthday girl enjoyed as well.
