This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Located in Oakland’s Jack London Square, Haven is the third restaurant in the Daniel Patterson Group. Serving creative new Californian cuisine from Executive Chef Matt Brimer, Haven offers a dinner-party inspired prix fixe menu. In addition to craft cocktails, local beer, and a stellar wine list, the bar and lounge is open for walk-in dining featuring a rotating, a la carte menu of house-made pasta, salads and the Haven burger.

Our prix fixe menu is three courses for $52 on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursdays and four courses for $68 on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are for our prix fixe menu only. Our a la carte lounge menu is served in our lounge and bar on a first come first serve basis.

Valet parking is available on Webster where it terminates at Embarcadero in the Jack London Square courtyard. Street parking is often available, and there is a $6 dollar lot just South of the restaurant building on Embarcadero at Harrison. We also validate for the Broadway parking garage.

One of those rare restaurants that are quiet and lovely, without tables jammed up against each other and also has outstanding food. The $50 prix fixe menu is the bargain of the bay. The menu was varied and interesting and beautifully plated and presented, giving the meal a classy and elegant feel

The Prefix menu is over priced. Breads were a course just did not sound right to me even though the breads are good.

The food at Haven was wonderfully balanced. My only qualm was that servers didn't seem to communicate well amongst each other causing some confusion. Our server in particular didn't seem very familiar with certain menu items. Cocktails weren't really balanced either. However, the food made it all worth it.

We went there for Valentine. Myself and my wife and our son. About the only thing that was good was the waitress that was nice. The host was somewhat rude. More important the food portions were so small that we felt even the waitress seemed embarassed!! The prix fix was $89 per person, I guess for Valentine. The total came to $300 for 3 people, and we didn't have much drink. Afterwards we were so hungry that we had to make something to eat at home. What a rip off!! I understand it is chef prepared and all that. But would not cost them more to give us a little more food. Finally the waitress said they also have bread, and she brought it. That filled us a bit.

Haven is one of our favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. Great concept of how to structure a menu. Good wine list too.

The restaurant called me the night before my reservation and asked about food allergies. I indicated I was lactose intolerant. However, it's a prix fixed menu and I received several dishes containing dairy with no mention of my lactose intolerance. Also, the menu is all over the place. It's a restaurant that is in search of an identity. I believe there is a new chef since I was there last.

A lovely evening. The food was AMAZING and the wine options were great. If you buy a bottle of wine, they will waive the corkage fee if you bring your own. Our waitress was wonderful and really engaged us to describe the food. We started with an assortment of breads and hummus/butter/trout/pork terrine options. The kung pao brussel sprouts were to die for. Even the pear salad with sunflower seeds was exquisite. It was a wonderful evening for my mothers birthday dinner and the german reisling (selbach) was perfect. 10/10
