Havana Central Times Square Ratings and Reviews
It was a Sunday afternoon during holiday season, so it was quite crowded and noisy, but fun. The waiters seemed a little overwhelmed perhaps by the sheer crowd. They forgot several things and we had to ask again, but overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
I've been to this restaurant previously and have always enjoyed. that said, my last experience wasn't anything special. I think my biggest complaint was that they told me that had no decaf coffee, at all, and that my only option was tea. that really bothered me as I had been looking forward to my decaf expresso, which I've always gotten there in the past, and which I always enjoyed.
The food, service and ambiance was wonderful. We ordered something that was only on the week day menu without a problem. The service was quick even if we weren't catching a show. Be sure to make a reservation as the wait without can be quit long. Will definitely be coming back!
Visiting the city to see a show, we had post-theatre dinner. The Cuban food is authentic and had choice of several favorites including specials which offered a taste of several dishes. The drinks can be strong, but the waiter warns you. Ivan, our waiter, created a fun atmosphere without being intrusive to our party and the supporting staff kept the table cleared and water glasses filled. Parking garage available at market rate across the street.
We were 30 minutes late for our reservation and they still seated us right away (tuesday 5pm) and made sure we were able to eat and drink with time to make it to our play. Staff was friendly and polite. Bathrooms are clean. But be prepared the tables are close together and it's noisy!
Had been wanted by to go for dinner for a while. Finally did this trip. We were not disappointed. Food was wonderful. Love the plantain chips and avocado salsa app. All our dinners were delicious and the flan was just the right amount to finish off the meal. And the mijitos, guava and passion fruit were outstanding.
What a lovely surprise! Was afraid of a chain experience..but got pleasant professional service, delicious plentiful portions, and a lovely vibrant atmosphere that was perfect for families. Drinks were delicious and all went smoothly with our reservation. Highly recommend!
We visited Havana on a whim while visiting NYC to see several Broadway shows. I googled the restaurant and it suggested to make a reservation which I did. One was available within 2 hours of when I wanted to go. We went at our reservation time and was immediately seated. We ordered Ropa Vieja, Vaca Frita, arroz con camarrones and arroz con pollo y camarrones - all dishes were amazing and a ton of food. We could have almost shared a couple dishes among us. The service was prompt and the food was great!
My family, a friend and I went to have dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday we had a great experience, food was very tasty, there was a salsa group playing alive, our waiter was attentive and kind. My second time at this restaurant nice experience!
My family and I were on a family trip to NYC
Needed a place to go before a show that was near our theater. Was not expecting much from a chain restaurant in Times Square, but we were all pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We started with the Cuban sampler and Empanada sampler, everything was delicious. I had the shrimp and saffron rice. A generous portion of shrimp and more rice than one could eat. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their food. The service was excellent and we got to the theater in plenty of time. Would definitely recommend for pre theater
Although our server was great, this first time our food came out cold. And I mean every single item. First it was the appetizers that came out cold. I didn't have it returned because I figured our meal would make up for it. But when our other dishes came out cold as well, it was very disappointing. I didn't ask our server to return the food because I just don't trust what goes on behind closed doors when you return food. Aside from that, the food was tasty, just cold :-(
For the prices this place has, I would expect the food to be hot when brought to the table and well cooked. I had the chicken and shrimp al ajilla, the chicken was dry and the ajillo (garlic) was more of a watery taste. My boyfriend had the vaca frita, it was more like vaca fria. I recommend you order individual drinks rather then pitchers because the pitcher is watered down. The waiter seemed rushed and messed up or drink order - I understand it was a evening and packed but come on at least get the order right.
