Went for lunch with co-workers. Food was good and service was great. Highly recommend.
Moderately priced midtown dining experience
Was in the area for a show. Service read pretty good and did was delicious.
Authentic Cuban food in the Heart of Times Square. Great place for a lively night out with friends or for a quick drink and appetizer before a Broadway show!
Restaurant was very cold. Every time the door opened everyone was freezing. Waited 30 minutes before waiter greeted us. Food was really good just wish the service was better. Was very dissapointed, was looking forward to eating here.
great cuban food! the pernil asado was very tasty, the pork was so moist!....the pollo y camarones al ajillo was very flavorful and the chicken was NOT dry/tough....we also had the empanada sampler and the stuffed tostones, and both were also very good....i would highly recommend this restaurant!
Ambience was great, as was the service and food was delicious, thoroughly enjoyed the experience, thank you...
Great restaurant with good vibe, ambiance, service and food.
We were unimpressed with the food. I had empanadas, one of each flavor: shrimp, chicken and beef. The shrimp was the only one I finished. There were three of us and we agreed we would likely never have dinner there again. There are too many great places in NYC to waste time on OK.
I took my husband there for his birthday. It was very crowded because it’s an amazing place! Ivan was awesome and very entertaining, knowledgeable and outstanding! We’ll go again
Churrasco was perfect , plantains incredible, service very friendly and helpful.
The food was good. Lots of fruit additions to lemonade. Service was reasonable
Excelente comida y muy buenas bebidas, recomendado al 100%!!!
We enjoyed dinner pre-theater at Havana Central Times Square. None of us had eaten Cuban food before, but the waiter was friendly and happy to recommend popular dishes. We shared plantain chips with avocado salsa as an appetizer, and I enjoyed the Mofongo con Pernil (Roast Pork) as my entree. Others in my party enjoyed Chef Hector's Pineapple Pork Chops and the Maple Glazed Salmon. We tried the sampler for dessert, and I have to highly recommend the Tres Leches cake. The flan was creamy and delicious and the churros crispy and so good dipped in caramel and chocolate sauce. For cocktails, the traditional Mojito was delicious, and the red wine sangria not to be missed. We spent close to 2 hours enjoying the food and the atmosphere, and walked the 3 blocks to the theater in plenty of time for the opening curtain. I recommend Havana Central Times Square, and plan to go back again soon.
If you are looking to receive inattentive service, be rushed to order and to leave, when the place is not even busy. This is the place to go!!
The bad service will start from the hostess all the way to the servers. No greeting whatsoever from anyone, the server came over our table and the first word was “are you ready to order” granted we had literally just sat.
Not to say it was all bad service, the guy bussing the tables were friendly and every time he came over he was polite and smiled.
The food is just ok. The empanadas and especially the shrimp and chicken one were flavorless.
My wife ordered the picadillo plate and the beef was super dry. The server never even bothered to ask why she didn’t eat her plate other than “are you all set”.
Definitely will never comeback to this place nor would I ever suggest to anyone. Therefore, don’t waste your money!
Delicious mojitos! I tried all three. Everything was authentic and delicious. Great for pre or post show. Paella was enough for two.
Always a nice resturant to dine in.
Excellent selection and food.
The furniture seems a little outdated, the food was delicious and the service was great!
Been going for years. It is a great place for an area where there are many places to frequent. The only real downside is the cost. The food is always fantastic but you can go to a similar restaurant out side of Times Square and you would definitely pay less for the same food. Great for an occasional meal.
Visited with a group of 4, had a great evening excellent ambience, good drinks and cocktails, bear in mind that portions are large we ordered paella thought we would get a reasonable portion each but one would easily feed 3 people. It would have been nice to know that rather than waste food.
When I booked this reservation, I wasn't sure what to expect because I loathe the Times Square area of Manhattan (because let's face it: that's not REAL Manhattan). We were seeing a show on Broadway, and I was craving Cubana food. Havana did NOT disappoint.
While the restaurant was busy, the service was extremely fast, and the margaritas were delicious! The food genuinely is authentic, and I felt the love that was put into it (even if we were in Midtown)! I strongly suggest that this restaurant be considered for people who are trying Cuban food for the first time, or those straight from the mother country. It is tasty, and the portions are decent for the amount of money spent.
We were here for a pre-theater dinner. The menu was very interesting with a lot of traditional Cuban dishes offered. The food was very bland. We did an appetizer sampler and two entrees, all were fine, but boring. Some seasoning, spice, and vegetables would have helped. This restaurant is in a tourist area and probably tries not be too "spicy" but it ends out turning out boring food. Cocktails were OK, but again, nothing special. OK if you want someplace close to a theater, but don't go out of your way for this restaurant. The server was nice, but impatient when we wanted to take our time.
We’re always pleased with Havana Central. It’s our ‘go to’ restaurant when seeing a show at the Laura Pels down the street. The drinks are potent, the food is excellent and the specials are always worth trying. The entire staff is helpful and pleasant. It must be a nice place to work because everyone is always happy. We look forward to our next visit!
Wife not to thrilled with the mofongo, it's an acquired taste. The restaurant made it right by taking it off the bill.
This is our go to place when we are going to a show on Broadway. We asked for quck service as we had an early curtain and the server was very accommodating. Enjoyed happy hour drink specials at the table; you have to be at the bar for the happy hour food specials. The mango glazed salmon over a salad was delicious!
Great food, and tastes authentic. They have all the Cuban classics and the ambience was great!
Food was exceptional. Best Spanish food.
our waiter gerardo was very helpful. He gave great suggestions and had a great sense of humor. Loved the shrimp empanda and shrimp mofongo.
Wonderful, friendly, quick service for drinks and food. Everything was delicious!
The food was great, but don't recommend this place for a first date. You could hardy get to have a good conversation because the seat are so close to each other. Overall it was ok
Havana Central is a great pre-theater (or anytime) restaurant/bar - good food, good drinks, terrific service, all in an energetic party atmosphere. I've never been disappointed there. Recommended!
Everyone I come to Ny I got.to go here. Love the Cuban favor, food is excellent, food fast service and I love the partita tequila!
Great place to dine before a show! Service was great and food was delicious. Staff gave great food recommendations!
Noisy Loud. Takes away from the ambiance
Very good food and service
the restaurant is amazing, and my server Abwael was the best, good conversation exceptional service, very attentive to the table, good recommendation in the food, hi was very helpful.
thank you, abwael(ABI)....
Had dinner on Sunday night, it was crowded and noisy! But it’s to be expected! They had live music and there was a birthday next to us. Food was amazing like always!
Havana Central was fun and energetic and the food was authentic! We had the Ropa Veija which was awesome! They also accommodated a child who just wanted grilled cheese. Very friendly staff. With our reservation, we got right in.
My family and I had a fun night at this restaurant. We were entertained with a live band which was a little noisy but bearable. He definitely recommended!
