DON'T GO ON SUNDAY EVENING IF YOU WANT QUIET CONVERSATION.
Usually love coming to this place BUT this time I was somewhat disappointed. There was live music which might make some guests happy BUT the sound volume was painful to the ear in the main dining area. I requested a seat away from the music so I could hear my wife but even in the last row of the side room it was too load to hear. Food as always was excellent.
Always a great dining experience. The Cuban band was playing- they were great. Difficult to hold conversation in the main dining room when band is playing however they have seating in another dining area if you prefer. The food is always delicious.
I came here with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner.. it was so much fun...the food, the drinks and the live band was amazing... You will definitely feel like your in Cuba.. I definitely recommend this restaurant...will be returning again..
Food always good and drinks done well! Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend any of the well-crafted Mojitos available.
Also their Mofongo is excellent.
It made for a nice evening, unrushed, good fod and service ad the atmosphere was filled with positive energy.
Excellent food and service! The blackberry mojitos were delicious. My husband loved the rum punch. We got the corn and queso fundido as appetizers and were not disappointed. Ropa vieja and churrasco steak were our entrees and everything was cleaned off our plates!
My family and I came for my father’s birthday for dinner and some drinks. Our server Juan Jose was phenomenal. He was very helpful in his food suggestions and prompt with his food and drink delivery. We had a great experience and we will gladly be back again.
Everyone made me feel very welcome and remembered me as I come here often. I moved but still made the trip to celebrate my birthday at this location because I enjoy the food, coconut mojitos and ambiance for my friends, not just for myself.
Fourth time here and second time with mediocre service. Yes it was a busy night and live music was great , but service was way below par. Appetizers came before pitcher of sangria. Unfortunately , the task of flagging down the wait staff detracted from the entire dinner. Food was ok. Don’t book the tables if you can’t handle the crowd.
Service was a little slow for a Sunday night. Very polite servers though. Apologetic about the slow service. Desserts and coffee served too far apart from each other. Some entrees weren’t as hot as they should have been. I spoke to a manager about having a candle inserted into one of our desserts for a birthday celebration just after we placed our dessert order with our server. He assured me he would take care of it ....it never happened. Not sure where the breakdown was. A little disappointing.
We had to wait 30 minutes to get our drinks and appetizers. An hour for our food. Only got forks - no knives and I had to request a knife so I can cut my chicken. Were sat by band and close to door, couldn't talk to my party much because of the noise and crowd that surrounded our table.
Made reservations at 8pm on Saturday night and finally got a table at 9pm. They need to organize their reservation scheduling. Food is good. Drinks are good. I wish they would dim the lights to make the ambience better. The tables are so cluttered.
The live band is a nice touch to the restaurant. This restaurant would be better if it wasn’t so crowded (like a cafeteria). Or I wouldn’t go on a Saturday night.
Went for early lunch with a friend. We had appetizers, sangrias (which are made right in front of you), nice ambiance, friendly staff, food is delicious, and big portion sizes. Would come here again and recommend to others.
I made a reservation for 6 people at 5:00 pm; and table wasn't ready, we were seated after 45 minutes, thanks to a manager that got us a table, if you make a reservation for a specific time you expect to be seated not later than 15 minutes; ambiance noisy not good to have a dinner conversation, drinks and appetizers were good, but not the main entry which was extremely salty, service was good. Two stars overall.
I celebrated my birthday there and it was absolutely amazing! From the front desk personnel, to the amazing band that sang happy birthday to me, to Tony who danced with me, to Melissa who was the best , to all the friendly faces and not last but least the most declious food.
I can’t thank you guys enough for making my night special.
I love live music... but it was way too high that we were not able to have a conversation. The server was very nice but, got very annoyed because we were hesitant on what to order and she did not volunteer any suggestions.. She had taken very long to take our orders than another big wait for our appetizers than for food. I love the ambiance, the wardrobe of the staff and the seating. Parking is very hard since it’s in the mall. Overall, I can say I ate there, but won’t be going back.
Our waitress was great! The staff is always very friendly and attentive. One of our favorite spots
I like the place, few times there great experience. I was with friends in a brunch, celebrating my birthday and whit my husband and kids. Def going back!
Awesome customer service!!
I never write reviews, but feel compelled to so. The music was so loud we could not even hear the waitress. That aside the waitress got my order wrong and I had to wait to get my dish corrected which came after my girlfriend had already finished eating. Aside from the food being barely passable and extremely expesive the whole experience was terrible. I hate giving a negative review, but it’s definitely warranted.
Birthday celebration for a family member
I made 4pm reservations and I did arrive early. We were seated at 3:30 and after that pretty much forgotten about. Our appetizer took 45 minutes to come out and finally our food took 45 minutes after the appetizer. A couple sat next to us 15 minutes after we ordered and ordered and all of their food came out before our. We also ordered dessert which took another 25 minutes to come out. We left the restaurant finally at 6:30pm. 3 HOURS!!! That's really unacceptable especially since it was not busy when we arrived. You pay a lot of money to eat in s restaurant and the service is terrible. The manager did NOTHING. Her blamed it on a food item not "looking good" so he held up our food in the kitchen. I'm calling BS since it still took 25 minutes for them to plate and serve ready made desserts.
Great food and live music! Will definitely be back!
The waitress and staff were very professional. She made excellent drink suggestions. The tostones we ordered were very good. However, both meals that we ordered were not good at all. The food was over salted, so much so my husband could not eat his dinner. Both meals came with yellow rice and black beans. The rice was bland and the beans were tasteless. We would not return.
The food was good. Service is a little slow. Possibly because it’s Saturday. Drinks could be a little stronger and less ice filling up the glass, by the way if you don’t have a reservation be prepared to sit in the back of the restaurant. That’s where we were placed until I mentioned I had a reservation, very sad but true.
Great time great food. Had a wonderful time with my family
I had ordered the Oxtails special which I thought would guarantee a solid choice but it was to salty to even try. I forced a few bites and had enough
Kim was great!!!
Great food great music great people
Great music very beautiful vibrant place. My appetizer and entrée were great but my dessert was pretty bad I got three tiny shriveled looking “churros”. Service was good could be a little more friendly. Drinks were good. Overall a good experience and I will be going back and recommending.
I’ve been coming to NYC every year for the past 7 years and my favorite spot is always Havana. I’ve recommend Havana to every one of my friends when they travel to NYC. They always comeback to me with smiles!!
Friends took us out for a special celebration... picked the perfect spot! Everything was great ...like the delicious cocktails and food, great service and awesome live music! Festive and fun night! Looking forward to going back soon!
We went with a bunch of friends and a birthday celebration. They have live music and a small dance floor for guests that want to dance. The food was good and portions were decent size. We will definitely be returning to try other menu items!
Been to Havana Central many times. Food, drinks and service are never a disappointment.
Date night with husband
It is an OK restaurant if you want to have Cuban food you can't get elsewhere easily. But it is just OK. Portions are good, the flavor is fine, but you feel as if it you are being rushed by a not too attentive waitress. They need more waitress service.
The drinks are mixed with very little liquor. My pina colada tasted mostly like pineapple when I asked for more liquor that I would pay for, it could not be done. My daughter also asked for a mixed drink and she could not taste the rum.
It is very 'touristy'. Decor is fun and music makes me happy since I am of Carribbean descent but I will go only when in the mall (don't live in area)and won't go out of my way to travel there just to eat. I won't order cocktails.
Food is good but the portions are small. I enjoyed the live music.
Delicious as always. Great live band. Great drinks.
Started out bad but the manager took car e of it. The entrees and drinks were good. With so many choices in that area not sure I would go back.
