So sad that Havana Alma de Cuba is yet another victim of greedy NYC landlords and has been forced to close. My Cuban husband and I had been going there for years and loved the authentic (his words) food and excellent, friendly service.
We will miss them greatly.

Stop in for a quick bite and where the only customer the whole time only to find out this location was closing for good on April 30. The food was ok service was slow but maybe because the employees knew they had a few days of work left. Wish I had gone when this place was lively

We love the food and their flavors. The specials are a nice change of pace, but I always gravitate to the ox tails. It is so delicious in the tomato base. I've had ox tails at other places, but love the way it is prepared here. We bought a friend with us tonight and told her she would love their ox tail. We were thinking of sharing dishes, but I told her I'm eating the oxtail all by myself, so if she wanted some she should order her own. She did and agreed with me how delicious it is. The fried yucca and tostones were good starters with the great happy hour drinks. We'll be back again, and so will our friend.

Not much personality of the staff. And the so-called roast suckling pig dish, lechon, likely was pulled pork loin. A big difference in flavor and a bate and switch item on the menu. I can’t prove it, but it was so bland and lacked the flavors of the Cuban dish. Also they took a spoon of raw chopped garlic and dumped it on top of the pork, which gave me indigestion for the whole night out. There was no subtlety here.

Nice sever, fun cigar rolling guy. Food NOT delicious. Bland paella, hard flavorless fried plantain thingy, just okay empanadas. Spent 96.00 on 2 apps 1 paella and a bottle of wine.

Nice neighborhood restaurant - there are so few left in the Village now. The food is delicious and the cocktails outstanding - all at reasonable prices. This is a real find. Looking forward to returning.

My husband and I love trying something we can’t get everyday. This did not disappoint. He had the swordfish special and I had oxtail. Both were outstanding. The drinks were also delicious (mojito and mi tierra). This would definitely be worth a repeat visit on a future trip!

This was the worst restaurant we went to during our week long visit to New York, which was disappointing as this place came recommended. When we arrived we were taken to a dreary side room which looked like someone’s garage and seated there. We were the only ones seated in this room for most of our meal which meant we had to wait for someone to come in to the room in order to be served - often waiting for long periods of time. When I asked the waiter if we could be moved into the main room he said that it was fully booked (despite me pointing out that we had made a reservation ourselves). The waiter then proceeded to be extremely rude the rest of the evening to the point that this made me extremely uncomfortable. The food itself was fine - nothing spectacular. I would not recommend this restaurant, there are so many great places to go in New York there is no need to waste your time going to a place such as this where you are treated so poorly.

Havana Alma de Cuba is great for delicious cuban dishes. My favorite is the ox tail and I order it most times. The seafood dishes are very flavorful also. The small plates are great for trying and sharing and when you can't decide on what to eat, but just a little of everything as a wonderful sampler.. The latin flavors are wonderful. The tostones with the powerful and tasty garlic dip is so crispy and firm. The drinks are well mixed and the happy hour offerings are a great treat. The service is attentive and friendly. I love going back here.

I got the unlimited drink but because I was placed in the back room where there are parties and I was only with one friend, my service was especially slow. The food was great still and I would certainly recommend if you have a party. BUT do not expect to receive good service if you come with one person and you are seated in the back.

Fantasy place! The good is great. We came with a baby in a stroller in a busy Saturday night and they put us in the side dining room, which was in fact much nicer and more quiet. The staff was very accommodating of the baby, which is not to be taken for granted in this city.
I recommend the red sangria — it’s strong and not too sweet— and the vaca frito main course. It’s fantastic. And the churros with chocolate sauce for dipping are surreal.

A bit too loud to hear the person who's literally two feet from you. The food was mediocre and overcooked. The hostess tried to sell us the price fixed menu even before we were seated. The forks and plates were dirty (dried food). The sangria was ok. Overall just an ok experience. Not going back.

May have been good but when we were taken FROM the side with all the energy and life and sat down “next door” where it was dark, cold and seriously nearly vacant we did not feel so “warm” about staying.
The black beans and rice were good, drinks not so much.
Havana NAH NAH NAH, pass.

I come here a lot. The staff is always extremely kind, friendly, knowledageble, and helpful. The mojitos are some of the best I've ever had. My server, Ruben, is the man, and always has a smile on his face. Make sure you try the empanadas, the tostones, and the corn - all delicious! Definitely check this place out. There's a reason it's been open for a long time.
