We went for lunch on the 22 May for our 14th Wedding Anniversary and sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the canal and beautiful fields. The food was amazing and once we had finished eating we carried on drinking our bottle of Prosecco on the grass which was wonderful. We went to the Hatton Arms for our 10th year Wedding Renewals celebration which was amazing.

Excellent Venue, good food, Service a little lacking due to the restaurant being so busy. Generally, very nice.

A mixed bag - great quirky decor and friendly staff. Food not so wonderful; shared veggie platter was pretty much all bread, tiniest pot of guacamole, hummus, a handful of salad with some chickpeas tossed in, and a couple of slivers of halumi. For £17 that's pretty poor. If it had been on one plate (minus the bread) it've maybe been a single starter - why be so unnecessarily skimpy? Lamb main lovely, but fish cakes a bit dry, hardly any sauce - and the long stem broccoli was just silly... if the stalks are thick and the tops fine, then cut into the stalks! Otherwise they will be inedible - as it turned out. Puddings were probably the best bit of the meal. Service: fromorceringto starter almost 40 minutes - not acceptable for a lunch!

We were greeted at the door and given every consideration from then on. Our waiter checked how things were a couple of times and was of a friendly nature. The food was good pub quality and priced keenly. The atmosphere was lively without being loud.

Thought we would try eating at this very attractive and popular pub which on the sunny came across it was heaving with people. We ate indoors midweek and I ordered the steak pie which I had previously seen being caried to a table. It looked very splendid. On receipt I discovered that the expanded pastry topping was an add-on rather than being actual pastry that contained the filling and then heated up in an oven. The top was cold and the filling just sitting in a ceramic dish. Not a pie by normal standards. Clearly it had been microwaved. The food experience was basically a Wetherspoons with posher table settings and much higher prices.

This was the second time I have taken my parents to dinner here. The first time they had run out of certain items but that was nothing compared to on this occasion. Yes it was a sunny weekend, however that had been forecast for days and you would hope planned for. We booked for 6.30pm and by that time they weren’t allowing any other diners in due to food shortages. Once we got the menus they were on tatty printed paper (not their normal menus) with half the writing missing due to print quality. The waiter informed certain items had run out however post ordering he advised that for 3 of the 4 of us something we ordered was no longer available. The number of options no longer available exceeding the available options! Delays are inevitable however it did get much quieter yet the delays persisted, the food quality did not make up for this, neither did the fact we had to remind them of drink requests. The waiter was not in a good mood and didn’t even try to mask this. You can cope with delays and issues when you are out at ease but we felt on edge not wanting to further annoy a clearly irritated waiter. He didn’t want us there even though we had booked a week in advance and were not walk-ins. I’ve heard it’s great for week time lunches but would avoid at weekends as they seem to struggle with food supplies and staffing levels at peak times. If there are food issues, but a note by the door to let people know.

We had an excellent lunchtime two course meal in the Hatton Arms which is local to us. The views are lovely, setting very comfortable with a quality feel. Food portions were exceptional and excellent quality. Staff very friendly, knowledgable and attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant !

We went to say farewell to my daughter who was returning to work in Italy the following day. We waited an hour and a half for our food , which was dreadful when it finally arrived. It was extremely busy due to lovely weather and they’re clearly couldn’t cope. Will not eat here again.
