I love now that vaccination cards are required! The food is great, and the service is fast. We love this place!
I was excited to visit a daikaya sister restaurant and wasn't really impressed with the food. Maybe because the lunch menu didn't include any of their specials but the hawaiian dishes were bland and ramen was okay.
Amazing dinner experience and date night. One of the best ramens we had ever had. Loved the dole whip dessert, and poke appetizer too. Fun ambiance but not too loud. Great service, and this will become a new regular spot.
Will not be going back. The place was cold. My hands would not warm up after 10 mins at my place plus the music was loud I couldn't hear the waitress. The food was average. Nothing to rave about.
This is my favorite Ramen shop in DC. Broths are deeply rich, eggs are perfect and staff is attentive.
Went here for a date night on a Saturday, the vibes inside were great! The food transported me back to Hawaii, the poke was fantastic. We left happy and full!
The vibe was really nice. Food was amazing. The burger and the sauce they use was great. Ramen was great. You may need to order extra noodles. I would definitely go back.
Overall solid food, dishes arrived at different times. I had to wait 40 minutes for my ramen to be served.
Delicious food for a great price! Amazing ambience with a unique selection of ramen and Hawaiian inspired dishes!
great ramen, and some fun hawaiian dishes that are equally delicious
I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant in the past but the menu updates were not my favorite. The food was good but having a gyoza or dumpling is a critical menu item. I didn’t see the edamame on the menu but it was available and the don’t recall asking about the peppers. Service was great!
The Ramen is Authentic!! It's delicious!! And then the Hawaiian dishes is marvelous!! Definitely come back!
I'd been wanting to try this one, for a while. I like daikaya, haikan, and bantam king. The food at hatoba is good, but the service is not.
$10 ramen on Wednesday, which is a great deal for DC. Funky options for noodles and small bites that were all good. Fun ambience and a good drink selection. My only complaint is that the ramen was warm enough but was not as steamy as I would have hoped, especially on a cold night.
Tasty, quick, yay!
Excellent food & a great atmosphere! A definite repeat. Our vegan friends couldn’t stop raving about the tomato curry ramen - they had to order an extra bowl to split! Thank you for a great night!
Great poke and hearts of palm salad, friendly service!
Fantastic food but it took 15 minutes for anyone to come by and ask if we wanted drinks or appetizers. No introduction, no “I’m your server.” Then another 10-15 minutes before being asked if we knew what mains we wanted. Every table around us - every single one - had a server who came by regularly and checked on them, but we did not get that service. We were never asked if we wanted additional drinks. And I had to go to the host to get our check after waiting over 10 minutes for the person we thought was our server to come by (he didn’t, and other servers who came to adjacent tables saw us waiting and not eating but didn’t check on us). Then I had to track down the host again to take our credit card so we could pay and leave. It seemed like every other table had a dedicated server and our table did not — so we were on our own. I’ve never felt like a dime and dash was more warranted, but instead we spent over 20 minutes doing the work ourselves to be able to pay and leave. Great food, some of the worst service of my life with zero explanation why.
I had made reservations for a Saturday brunch before a nats game. We had expected our table to ready for our reservation but they did not know where to sit us, they didn’t have place settings, and their indoors still signs of ongoing construction/setup and there was a chaotic mess of boxes and supplies crowding the hallways leading towards the bathroom. Mind you, the place was not busy and there was one other family seated indoors so I didn’t see why the staff could not have been more prepared to serve customers let along have the place a little more organized. Now we ran into another issue after we had placed our order. One of our order was delayed because they didn’t take the right order. This led to a member of my party eating alone. All in all, the food itself was mediocre and not a place I’d visit again. Very disappointed in the experience. It’s almost like the place was still waking up and not ready to start business.
Lovely space inside and out, great ramen and loved that I could have multiple vegan dishes (watermelon salad, hearts of palm salad and vegan ramen). It’s a new nbhood fave.
one of my favorites! the vegan ramen is the best thing in the world.
The food was good. The music was loud on the patio.
Great food and great vibes! Would highly recommend
Service was friendly, quick and excellent. The food was interesting and delicious. I perfect meal before a game. We will definitely be back.
Ahi poke was excellent. Tomato curry ramen should have been described as spicy.
Food and service was good! Would go back if I were already in the area. Loved the butter mochi and dole whip.
The restaurant has a nice set up. We ate inside because it was too humid outside. The ramen didn’t have a lot of flavor. I’m not sure I liked how everything seemed to be outsourced. Drinks, etc. We did the restaurant week so we got a try a good amount of food. I think the experience was just okay. Nothing about it wowed is to the point we would rush to return. Maybe to try the regular menu…
Food was good, but nothing extraordinary. Ambience is very good as i liked the clean and open look. I rated service and value on the lower side because at least 5 items on the menu were not available and I didn’t think $0.5 charge for the requested spices was not fair when compared to other ramen places that would provide such spices as complimentary.
Great unique flavors to carefully prepared dishes. Friendly, casual atmosphere.
It was our first time at the restaurant (party of 5) we had a wonderful experience! Food and drinks were great, we sat outside and enjoyed it.
We had Felipe serving and took care of us, he was the best!
We were feeding getting bit by mosquitos outside haha, and solved our problem providing us with bug spray.
Cant wait to book my next visit to try more delicious food! Presentation and task was 100%
Food was incredible!
The food is great and the atmosphere is quaint. The servers are always so friendly as well.
Amazing food and the service was even better!
Will recommend and patron again.
Mai tai 😍
Food was good but we liked jinya and gyu hige (best) more for overall experience. Booth seating provides nice private space for catching up with friends!
New to the neighborhood and have made it a point to try out the places around us. We enjoyed Hatoba and our meal there, however the flavor on the ramen didn’t compare to others we have had at different places. Had an ahi poke appetizer that was very good.
The service and the atmosphere was good. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We will be coming back to try a different type of ramen in the near future to compare.
Our server Kristen was amazing, she made sure we had a good time and I will definitely come back and ask for her again.
My family lives in Okinawa in grade school and we've had good local Japanese food. We've been disappointed plenty of times before but not at hating. The yakisoba and ramen were the real thing, not an imitation game.
Ramen was okay, curry fries were pretty good. Canned tuna was issued for the tuna and rice appetizer, which makes me believe foods are not made fresh on site.
The food was edible, but I’ve had better food from hole in the wall carryout places. I sat outdoors which was nice. The service was good and the food was very affordable. Probably wouldn’t go again though.
