Baked potatoes were cold. Prime rib was good. Chicken fried steak was dry and just so so. Great place for large group. Quiet atmosphere so we can chat. Good waiter.
They had a marinated tri-tip that probably would have been good had the cut of beef been a lot better. We waited far too long for a drink from the bar to arrive. It's very bright. I think it was the manager that was very polite and observant, but our server wasn't. Polite enough I suppose but slow and didn't seem to care.
The service was terrible!! The food was good, but with bad service, and the horrible wait time, even for water, it was an overall flop.
Sorry we wasted our time.
Dear Susan, thank you for leaving us this review. We are truly sorry about your experience and this is something we will look into. We take these reviews very seriously and use them as a chance to improve. Thank you for being our guest. Warm regards, Tony O'Brien General Manager
Overall very good but not 5 star. Waitress could have been more discrete with service. Someone was vacuuming floor before we left.
Dear Kate, thank you for letting us know about your experience. Please know that I have forwarded this review to restaurant management. We are dedicated to improving service. Thank you for being our guest and we hope to see you again soon! - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
We had made reservations for 6:16 and when we got there, they had us on the list, but weren't ready for us. We ended up waiting about 15 - 20 mins just get seated. It then took them about 15 mins to take our order & then about 20 mins to get it to us. We had tickets to a show that started at 7:30 and we weren't able to make it on time because of the delay in the service. I was disappointed that they weren't ready for us upon our arrival, that made all the difference in the world for our timing.
Thank you for leaving us this review about your reservations. I have passed along this note to restaurant management. We were busy for Cheyenne Frontier Days and this is not a typical experience for guests. We will take your comments to heart and use them to improve service for the future. We would like to invite you back for a better experience. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
Typically love dining here. Waitress did not understand English very well, so our drink orders were not accurate and an order was incorrect as well.
Thank you for sharing! We will pass this along to restaurant management. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
The BBQ was good, but the sides were average. Especially for the price paid. The service was quite slow.
Thank you for the feedback. We will take this into account and work on it. Thank you for being our guest. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
I adore Hathaways. I go as often as possible ( a minimum of 6 to 7 times a year) and I take many friends up there. Prime rib excellent. Buffet selections, always great. Menu items are wonderful, too. It's a happy " day outing" going up to Cheyenne and enjoying the ambiance and fine cuisine at " L.A." I have never been disappointed.
Thank you for being our guest at Hathaway's Restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and we hope to see you again soon! - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
We ate at Hathaway's because we had a large party and hadn't made previous plans. They were able to accomodate our group of 10 easily. The ambiance, food, and exceptional service was an unexpected bonus. We will definitely be back when we visit family. It will be a great place to get the whole clan together. Great food and quiet enough that we can chat and catch up. They were even brave enough to suggest the kids have their own table. Worked out perfectly!
Dear Felicia, thank you so much for sharing your experience at Hathaway's Restaurant at Little America! I am glad you enjoyed the service, food and ambiance. I will definitely pass this review along to restaurant management so they know their team's hard work is noticed. Thank you for being our guest and we look forward to your next visit. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
Special mother's day event, it was definitely expensive and we were among about 1000 other people in our room. The food was mostly great, it was a good time.
Dear Matt, thank you for your feedback about Mother's Day Brunch at Little America. I am glad you had a great time and don't forget about our upcoming Thanksgiving Day Brunch. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
This was our first time to Hathaway's and it was awesome! We were there to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint! We will definitely recommend it to others and we plan on making this our new place for celebrating all upcoming anniversaries.
Dear Ryan, thank you so much for being our guest! We are proud to be a part of your anniversary and thank you for the future recommendations. Thank you for leaving us this review and we hope to see you again soon! - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
Wonderful food and the service was impeccable. Little America always does an amazing job.
Dear Michael, thank you for sharing! We love the feedback. We hope to see you again soon. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
I was disappointed with the brunch buffet. The ham and prime rib were very good, but I was disappointed with the lack of breakfast type items that one usually associates with a brunch menu. The service was really good and the staff was very attentive. The food available was good overall.
Dear SWait, thank you for leaving us this review. I am glad you enjoyed the food at brunch. I will pass along the information about the food items. Thank you for being our guest. Warm regards, Tony O'Brien General Manager
My Wife and I got extremely ill from something we ate at their buffet. $150 for 2 people to get food poisioning. Awesome deal right? Never again.
Dear John, thank you for the information about your experience at brunch. I am sorry this happened to you and the situation is something that we take very seriously. If you have any further comment or if you want to discuss your experience, I invite you to reach out to me at 307-775-8451. Warm regards, Tony O'Brien General Manager
Wait staff needs improvement. Did not fill my water glass at all during my stay. Had to ask to have it filled. Would not keep the dirty dishes clean from the table. Considering it is a Buffett I don’t need to see my dishes after I have used them. Witnessed a staff member placing silverware on the table and touching the end of the silverware that goes into your mouth. Each piece of silverware was touched that way. Then fixing her hair with the very same fingers before moving on to the next table to repeat the process.
The dinners were fine. The tri-tip special was flavorful and spicy as noted by the attendant server. The desserts were disappointing. Both were generic out of the freezer, and the Bananas Foster was swimming in caramel sauce.
Dear Brendan, thank you for visiting the restaurant and leaving your feedback on your experience. I am glad you enjoyed the dinner. I will pass along a note to the chef about the desserts so we can improve on this in the future. Thank you for being our guest and we hope to see you again. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
Great service, ambiance, and great all around experience.
Manager was wonderful we had some trouble getting waited on, had long wait for our dinner to come out. Manager took a little off our bill asked if we were staying at hotel, brought us a card for breakfast. Because of him going above and beyond to make things right we will be back.
There are many places to start, but I'll begin with the food, since that is the reason for the trip. It was good, but very inconsistent. My wife and I got the same thing (the Valentine's Day special), and we ordered the same main. However, my fillet was perfectly cooked, and tender, and medium, and my wife's (who also ordered it medium) was leaning toward medium well. Lobster thermidor came with the main. Mine was well cooked, and had plenty of lobster. My wife's had 1 piece of lobster, and a lot of mushrooms, and 2 bay scallops. The food was good, but the inconsistency (for the same dish at the same table ordered the same way at the same time) was alarming.
Service, though, is what absolutely ruined the evening's experience. Clearly, the wait staff had not been trained on the new menu, and we did not even make it through the order before our waiter had to check with his "superiors," a word he used a lot. But, after making it through taking our order, it got worse. A bottle of white wine came, but it was not chilled, nor was there a table-side ice bucket. Our salad/soup came after our main course. We had to go to the bar to order a second glass (my wife didn't want the white), because the waiter did not come back. And, when it came to pay the bill, there was even more confusion, and we had to check our banking app multiple times just to make sure no additional charges showed up since the card was away from the table for so long. The staff assigned to clear the tables was working incredibly hard, and was polite and efficient, and fantastic. However, the waiter assigned to our table had simply not been trained on a lot of things. And, if he had been trained, the training was not complete or understood.
Overall, food was fine. Service was beyond horrible. And, we're not going back. This is one of our hometown restaurants, one we should want to go to, or at least put in the rotation. But, we're done. At least for the restaurant.
Ivy was our waitress and I would not recommend her to serve our party again😢
Overall the food was good. The service was so-so. The buffet was good but we had to ask several times to get someone to cut the prime rib and ham. Every time I asked it seemed like an inconvenience. Our servers were good when we first arrived. However, we had to request our final bill, it was never picked up so I walked it up, then they added an extra buffet on. I had to hunt down a server to make the change. She was very nice but the service was a bit rough and they were not very friendly. The food was very good. Especially the bread pudding, which is worth going for alone.
Thank you for sharing! I will inform the food director of your experience of the service as this was not up to our standards. I am sorry about the service and we will work to make sure it is improved in the future. Thank you for visiting us. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
Prime rib was good. Bread pudding not as good as usual. Miss the layered salad which I think has a jello base
Thank you for sharing your experience about the restaurant. I will make a note about the bread pudding. Thank you and we hope to host you again in the future. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
A bit disappointed this time around. Christmas buffet was so-so, with few sides and prime rib overcooked. Had to get our own menus and service/customer service was subpar. They also did not have turkey available on the buffet (@$40 plate) but you could get it as a plated meal (@$33); meanwhile they had ham and lamb as other choices. Salmon was good but also overcooked. Seems like the employees were not too happy to be there, which I get since it's Christmas, but I'm sure they knew well in advance that they would be working. We enjoyed Little America much better last year, and unfortunately may not be going back next Christmas.
Dear CaraM, thank you for spending your Christmas with us. I am sorry about your experience with the buffet and service. What you experienced was not up to our standards and I will pass along your review so we can work to improve service for next year. Thank you for being our guest. - Tony O'Brien, General Manager
The xmas lights were amazing. The quiet scenery was great. Food was above average
It was 5:30pm on Thanksgiving, there were busy before we arrived, I'm just assuming so. Food was ok. Some items seemed dry or left out for a while. I'm not sure what I was expecting but, I was disappointed in the quality of the food. But what do I expect on a busy holiday? $40.00 for a buffet that included drinks, I think it was a good value. Next time we will go earlier.
Disappointed with Thanksgiving buffet, very messy and the shrimp looked like it had been out for a week. No butter for the rolls and my son who eat Mac and cheese everywhere did not finish it saying it was gross. The food tasted okay but I had to flag down another waiter to pay my bill as we was busy being super attentive to the old ladies at the table next to us. Never had our drinks refilled and my kids ages 10 & 11 commented that they wanted a new tradition because of how meh it was. As a single mom who tries to have a nice holiday for her kids when we cannot be with family Little America has always been the got , but it looks like, a new tradition needs to be made after such a disappointing experience.
Thank you for an amazing Thanksgiving experience. Everything was wonderful.
This was our first experience at Hathaways for a holiday dinner. I can't say enough about the service and good food. We were apprehensive about our "empty nest" this year, as we usually have a houseful, and plenty of people in the kitchen. Although we missed all of that, our experience at Hathaway's made up for it. The food was excellent, and our waitress, Leanna, was extremely attentive and anticipated every need, without being "hovering." Even as the restaurant was extremely busy, we felt personally attended to, which was wonderful. We will definitely do this again, if we find ourselves having a "quiet" holiday. Thank you!!
We had a group of 8, we weren't offered refills on drinks and we had to stack dirty dishes on an empty spot on a table. This should be better. I was charged gratuity and not informed so I left $25 cash tip. I noticed this later and emailed regarding it, but never heard anything back. It should be stated when you take my card that you will be adding a tip. Since we did not see any menus, I was not aware of this. Obviously, I would have tipped more than your automatic charge. I am still a bit peeved about this.
Second, the buffet- your server was rather unpleasant to my guests. Paying $16 per person-- please don't give us a dirty look because we want at least an 8 ounce prime rib cut that is cooked to our liking. Not everyone likes a well done cut of prime rib. We should have that option to decline a piece that's not to our liking.
Other than those issues, it wasn't too bad.
Honestly, they need some help. Upon arriving it gives off the vibe of what you would hope for in a Sunday brunch. Our experience went down hill from there. A server said from across the room "You can go ahead to the buffet." We went to the buffet, and twenty minutes later still no waiter, water, coffee or juice. I went to the bar to see if I could get some drinks to carry in and the bartender walked from behind the bar not returning for the 10 minutes I stood there. I then went to whom seem to be the manager and stated that we had now been here for over a half an hour with no one coming by checking on us or asking about beverages. She stated " I will get to you as soon as I can." She did bring us coffee and water as we were finishing our meal. As for the food the prime rib and ham were good. Many of the "hot" items were mostly cold. The mixed vegetable salads were shall I say unique? Many of the table around us had the salads remaining on their plates. When I went to pay the gentle man in front of me had the same concerns with the food and service, stating that they had driven an hour to get here and would not be back.
Dining the way it used to be Excellent menu, at reasonable prices, adequate wine list reasonable prices, excellent service, elegant surroundings with many private areas. A real gem of a find and would travel there again because of the surroundings, comfort and service. The best experience we have had while travelling in a long time
Lovely “old money” restaurant. Food was great and the prices were a really good value. Rack of lamb, $22. Good service, too. Our waiter suggested we walk around the corridors of the hotel and look at the original, western art. The hotel/restaurant is owned by oilman Sinclair. I thought it was a find.
Only complaint was that the service was a tad show. Had Salmon which was great - good seafood in Cheyenne can be a challenge to find!
My wife's lamb chops were under done. And my 16 oz prime rib was overdone. The restaurant uses staff on some sort of Foreign Exchange program. I would highly recommend that if they're going to continue to do this that they wait until the Staff can take proper directions. Smiling and being courteous is not difficult in any country however taking a temperature for meat and communicating it to the kitchen is much more difficult than you would imagine. There for my server wasted my time and $75 at least and really nice meat.
We had to make quick plans for dinner, and we were able to secure a place during a busy time. The service was prompt and attentive, and our selection for our meal (trout) was prepared as expected. If we are ever again in the Cheyenne area, we will return
We LOVE this restaurant. Very much worth the hours drive. We try to visit at least once a month and bring friends. Quality, price, ambience, menu all great!
We were just passing through Cheyenne...staying only one night. At the end of a long day driving we were staying down the street but looking for a good restaurant. We were not disappointed in Hathaway’s which is located within the Little American Hotel. We hope our travels take us to Cheyenne in the future as we would love to spend at least a night at the hotel and enjoy another meal at Hathaway’s.
As Cheyenne's only regular Sunday Brunch I expected much better quality. The line staff could barely speak any English. No real management seem to be present. The worse part was the very low quality of food. The shrimp were almost rubbery and had the texture of cotton in your mouth. The ham was very gray. At 11:30 am the only prime rib choice was well done. The girl who cooked our omelets did not know what she was doing, and they were awful. By noon the dessert bar looked mutilated and was not refreshed, so I opted for the hot dessert bar where I had the most tasteless bread pudding. Do not waste your money on this very over priced glorified buffet.
The staff was so friendly & helpful. The tables looked wonderful & clean. The food looked appetitizing & tasted delicious. We could have a quiet conversation & also visit with some neighboring tables. We have eaten here before & we knew this was an excellent place to come back too & we would certainly agree with that again today!
Steak was over cooked but quickly corrected and the service was wonderful!
