Named for Stan Hathaway, governor of Wyoming from 1967 to 1975, Hathaway's is one of Cheyenne's premier restaurants. We're known for our weekday Lunch Buffet, Sunday Brunch, elegant twists on classic dishes and traditional comfort foods.

Had a good selection of food for the brunch menu, all of it was very good. Made to order omlets took to long to get to our table and drink refills were not done in a timely manner.Overall if your not in a hurry and are hungry, it is a good time in a excellant atomsphere.
The food was awful. They literally made frozen hash browns. The only that tasted good. Was the chicken and the only gave me a very small piece that wasn’t even two bites. The Bloody Mary was the worst I have ever had! The ranch was NOT the good ranch that LA typically served. It tasted sour and disgusting. We left 100 out of pocket for the worst breakfast ever. We could have gone to Shari’s or McDonalds and would have been cheaper and better tasting. The prime rib was chewy and disgusting. So disappointed! I can not believe what your brunch has become.

Absolutely the most horrible service and food!! Will never go again! The person serving coffee and the woman bussing tables were more attentive than our non existent waitress!! Food was cold except for the ladle of warm gravy poured over the cold, congealed gravy already on the food! Horrible horrible horrible!!
Very disappointed. Meal was cold, stuffing and potatoes so cold they were dry on the top. Partner's piece of prime rib was twice the size of mine. Only thing "warm" on the plate was the 'au juis' for the meat, and truly being liberal with the word warm. Never offered a refill on ice tea. Waitress asked about dressing for salad before I got seated. Apple spice cake was gone - our reservation was 12:30. Have gone toe Hathaway's and Little America before - this was not their caliber, and COVID is not the excuse.

Not for Valentine's Day. Food was cold and service was slow. Ambiance was like eating in one of those old cafeteria type places like Morrisons or Lubbys. We like the holiday buffets in the ballroom but I the restaurant was definitely not the place for a romantic dinner.

Extremely overpriced--$100 for 2. The filet mignon and lobster were over cooked. The filet was tough and almost unrecognizable. The lobster was chewy and without flavor. The service was slow and inattentive.

Valentines Day. Expecting to get an above average meal my wife and I went to Hathaway’s. We were greeted with a nice ambiance, a beautiful hotel and a great staff. Limited menu, but for me, that’s okay. I worked on that side before so I get it. The Filet , however, was not a good piece of meat...not even close. I want to try their lunch menu, but no more “filet” for awhile

Tasteless boiled veggies, cold dip, toughest steak in town, but at least we only spent $150 on Vday. Never going back.

My only complaint is the service. There seems to be plenty of waiters and waitresses, but they seem to disappear for long periods of time. In the mean time everyone is out of drinks or waiting on the check. The food is really good and the breakfast buffet is well thought out. I've been to the buffet several times and it is very consistent. The guy who makes the omelettes is obviously a pro as well.
They ran out of crab legs and other items. The prime rib was overcooked and very tough. Everything was picked over and they closed the omelette station. Some items were great and the service good.
The buffet line snaked in and out of all the tables so I would have to say they way over-booked. We couldn’t even leave our table at one point due to being completely encased with people waiting in lines. People kept bumping into my back as I was trying to eat. The food was excellent, but for the price, the ambiance left something to be desired.
We loved the Christmas buffet. There was so much food you could never begin to try everything, but everyone found just what they wanted. Shrimp the size of your fist, King crab legs, turkey, ham, pork, prime rib, deserts galore, breakfast items, a chocolate fountain.....I could go on and on. It is a bit pricey ($60 per person), but for a holiday gathering it is worth everyone being able to eat what they wanted and no dishes to clean up. Little America is the most opulent place locally and thus makes for a wonderful holiday experience.

Planned our anniversary dinner there. Walked in hostess didn’t ask about reservations. Was seated ordered appetizers, then the meal. Used the open table app asked to write happy anniversary on the desert plate. Nothing why have a restaurant on an app if they don’t use it from start to finish.
Baked potatoes were cold. Prime rib was good. Chicken fried steak was dry and just so so. Great place for large group. Quiet atmosphere so we can chat. Good waiter.
They had a marinated tri-tip that probably would have been good had the cut of beef been a lot better. We waited far too long for a drink from the bar to arrive. It's very bright. I think it was the manager that was very polite and observant, but our server wasn't. Polite enough I suppose but slow and didn't seem to care.
The service was terrible!! The food was good, but with bad service, and the horrible wait time, even for water, it was an overall flop.
Sorry we wasted our time.

Overall very good but not 5 star. Waitress could have been more discrete with service. Someone was vacuuming floor before we left.

We had made reservations for 6:16 and when we got there, they had us on the list, but weren't ready for us. We ended up waiting about 15 - 20 mins just get seated. It then took them about 15 mins to take our order & then about 20 mins to get it to us. We had tickets to a show that started at 7:30 and we weren't able to make it on time because of the delay in the service. I was disappointed that they weren't ready for us upon our arrival, that made all the difference in the world for our timing.

Typically love dining here. Waitress did not understand English very well, so our drink orders were not accurate and an order was incorrect as well.

I adore Hathaways. I go as often as possible ( a minimum of 6 to 7 times a year) and I take many friends up there. Prime rib excellent. Buffet selections, always great. Menu items are wonderful, too. It's a happy " day outing" going up to Cheyenne and enjoying the ambiance and fine cuisine at " L.A." I have never been disappointed.

We ate at Hathaway's because we had a large party and hadn't made previous plans. They were able to accomodate our group of 10 easily. The ambiance, food, and exceptional service was an unexpected bonus. We will definitely be back when we visit family. It will be a great place to get the whole clan together. Great food and quiet enough that we can chat and catch up. They were even brave enough to suggest the kids have their own table. Worked out perfectly!

Special mother's day event, it was definitely expensive and we were among about 1000 other people in our room. The food was mostly great, it was a good time.

I was disappointed with the brunch buffet. The ham and prime rib were very good, but I was disappointed with the lack of breakfast type items that one usually associates with a brunch menu. The service was really good and the staff was very attentive. The food available was good overall.

My Wife and I got extremely ill from something we ate at their buffet. $150 for 2 people to get food poisioning. Awesome deal right? Never again.

Wait staff needs improvement. Did not fill my water glass at all during my stay. Had to ask to have it filled. Would not keep the dirty dishes clean from the table. Considering it is a Buffett I don’t need to see my dishes after I have used them. Witnessed a staff member placing silverware on the table and touching the end of the silverware that goes into your mouth. Each piece of silverware was touched that way. Then fixing her hair with the very same fingers before moving on to the next table to repeat the process.
The dinners were fine. The tri-tip special was flavorful and spicy as noted by the attendant server. The desserts were disappointing. Both were generic out of the freezer, and the Bananas Foster was swimming in caramel sauce.

Great service, ambiance, and great all around experience.
Manager was wonderful we had some trouble getting waited on, had long wait for our dinner to come out. Manager took a little off our bill asked if we were staying at hotel, brought us a card for breakfast. Because of him going above and beyond to make things right we will be back.
There are many places to start, but I'll begin with the food, since that is the reason for the trip. It was good, but very inconsistent. My wife and I got the same thing (the Valentine's Day special), and we ordered the same main. However, my fillet was perfectly cooked, and tender, and medium, and my wife's (who also ordered it medium) was leaning toward medium well. Lobster thermidor came with the main. Mine was well cooked, and had plenty of lobster. My wife's had 1 piece of lobster, and a lot of mushrooms, and 2 bay scallops. The food was good, but the inconsistency (for the same dish at the same table ordered the same way at the same time) was alarming.
Service, though, is what absolutely ruined the evening's experience. Clearly, the wait staff had not been trained on the new menu, and we did not even make it through the order before our waiter had to check with his "superiors," a word he used a lot. But, after making it through taking our order, it got worse. A bottle of white wine came, but it was not chilled, nor was there a table-side ice bucket. Our salad/soup came after our main course. We had to go to the bar to order a second glass (my wife didn't want the white), because the waiter did not come back. And, when it came to pay the bill, there was even more confusion, and we had to check our banking app multiple times just to make sure no additional charges showed up since the card was away from the table for so long. The staff assigned to clear the tables was working incredibly hard, and was polite and efficient, and fantastic. However, the waiter assigned to our table had simply not been trained on a lot of things. And, if he had been trained, the training was not complete or understood.
Overall, food was fine. Service was beyond horrible. And, we're not going back. This is one of our hometown restaurants, one we should want to go to, or at least put in the rotation. But, we're done. At least for the restaurant.
Ivy was our waitress and I would not recommend her to serve our party again😢
Overall the food was good. The service was so-so. The buffet was good but we had to ask several times to get someone to cut the prime rib and ham. Every time I asked it seemed like an inconvenience. Our servers were good when we first arrived. However, we had to request our final bill, it was never picked up so I walked it up, then they added an extra buffet on. I had to hunt down a server to make the change. She was very nice but the service was a bit rough and they were not very friendly. The food was very good. Especially the bread pudding, which is worth going for alone.
