Food is always tasty at Hatch. Their drinks are tasty too. Great place for a date.
We went for a late lunch and there was only one server. She did a very good job helping everyone but they would have benefited from another server. Food was really good and came out fast. I was at a business meal so I couldn’t drink but I’d love to come back and try their cocktails
Birds were in our food, yuk. It was so annoying. Service was ok.. nothing over the top.
this is my 2nd time here and the service is awful but the food is really good. this is an extremely expensive restaurant considering the size of the portions for the price, so you would think the service would be better. the drinks are pretty good!
Great food, good vibe. Would definitely go back
great food...great drinks...definitely great spot for a quick bite or a long meal.
We used a dining reward and still spent a pretty penny here, but the food was SO DELICIOUS. Everything was small and shareable, and we were able to try many things and find what we wanted to order more of. Specifically, we had all of the vegetable skewers (except for the eggplant and asparagus -- we're pescatarian), the tuna belly, the eel, the corn fritters, and then avo tuna toast. We LOVED the corn fritters. They were so light and tasty, and we mixed all the sauces together that they came with. Those were the star of the show. The eel and Tuna were okay, but all of the veggies were lovely. The ave tuna toast was probably not worth the full price, but also a decent portion. Worth trying out. Next time we want to order the hamachi.
Happy hour was lovely, but we spend half the time not in happy hour, so it added up cost wise. We LOVE the location - the bloc is great. We went prior to a movie at Alamo Drafthouse and I'm 100% sure this will be our go to prior to our next one. We highly recommend.
The tuna avocado toast and hamachi were my favorite on the menu.
Food and service was great. The lights from the surrounding shops makes the outdoor area not as intimate. I couldn’t stop eating the pork belly sticks and the oysters were phenomenal.
Mediocre food. Decent cocktails. Sterile environment. Relatively disinterested staff. Kind of a disappointment. Maybe it just underwhelms on a Monday
Food was beyond delicious. Service was good until it got crowded but that's understandable. Would come back again to try the other dishes.
Food was excellent. Service was great. Will definitely go back! Hi
Everything was great! Food, ambiance, and service was overall awesome. My server was the only complaint. He was not very professional and a little too relaxed. Other than that I would come back but would prefer a different server next time.
Food was overpriced & and it took them too long to get our orders and it also took 30 mins to get our cocktails & food. Food was okay, I had better yakitori anywhere else in little tokyo and cocktail was worse me mixing soda & liquor at home.
Would definitely come back. I just wish we were closer to the area. Great flavors and everything was well cooked. I would say it's a nice balance of a traditional yakitori spot with an upscale twist, but not overly done in any way. Took my wife here for her bday, but would love to go back just because, plus hard to beat the Japanese whisky selection.
Loved it, excellent food and service
Good food and liked their Happy Hour menu!!!!!!!!!
Great food and drinks
We arrived at the restaurant only to be told that the restaurant would not be opening. We had to scramble to try to get a reservation somewhere else on a Saturday night.
Great food and great drinks
Will revisit the restaurant soon reservation mix up.
Everything was great! Highly recommended! Great service great food and great specials!
Most foods was not touched by anyone. Only 2 out of for dishes have been eatable. No Soda drinks (sprite coke etc.) No non-alcholic cocktails. So people under 21 have to drink water or hot tee. If you want to wat similar food go to katana, ambiance nicer and better choices with excellent food.
stop in and have a wonderful time!! great meal and WONDERFUL service!
20 mins after we order our bottle of sake our server Jaime says it’s out. It took you 20 mins to tell us? He was never present. Bad visit.
Great place to take a date
Great food great service
If you want authentic japanese yakitori, izakaya style, i dont recommend this place. But if you want try fusion style food and some interesting cocktail, you want to try this place. Our server was friendly and attentive. Ambiance... was clean, modern, style but a bit... hmmn... unfinished. I think if no covid, the ambience can be better.
Our server randomly disappeared after taking a drink order from us. We found him later at the bar drinking in “off the clock” clothes when we went to ask where are drinks were after waiting for them for over 20 minutes.
This is a great place to get drinks and small plate meals.
service is good but most the meat came in are burned.
most important thing for yakitori is marinated the meat n
control of the fire.
So glad to live next door to Hatch. Still one of my favorites!
Service and food was amazing; checking on our status if we were empty and consistently refueling us to ensure that we never parched from our alcoholic beverages.
Living in Beverly Hills we aren’t afraid to pay top dollar for good food. To pay $100 for a couple drinks and some appetizers Downtown LA is excessive. Tasted good. But I can think of hundreds of places that you could go to get a better value for food, and not have to be in the dangerous downtown area.
Food was great. Service was amazing.
I made a reservation for a party of two at about 8 PM. we were seated relatively quickly. They appeared to be short on wait staff that day but our waitress was very kind and patient. The restaurant did not appear to be very busy. Our orders did take a little while to come out from the kitchen and we only ordered skewers and the half dozen oysters. The drinks took a little while to prepare as well. Fortunately, I had good company so I did not mind the wait. The food is a little over-priced for the amount that you receive but I imagine the pricing reflects that of a business trying to stay open during the pandemic.
Otherwise. The staff is friendly, the food is pretty good, the cocktails are tall and strong but they're definitely an acquired taste, and the ambiance is pleasant.
A must-try for all Japanese food lovers. Unique flavors and clever combinations make it a serious foodie destination downtown. Can't wait until we can actually go inside again!
Love this place! The food and ambience was great! The service was absolutely amazing! I would definitely come here again! My sister and I really enjoyed all the food and the For Goodness Sake drink was amazing as well. I had to take one to go.
Great food and atmosphere!
Got reservations, didn’t even ask. Didn’t care about his job.
