I tried this restaurant for the first time on a recent trip to LA. Overall, I think the food was quite good; service was inconsistent. Given that it's mostly tapas and I was dining alone, I chose to do there prix fixe tasting menu. The value was definitely good given the amount of dishes/food. However, from a dining experience perspective, there were a couple of things lacking. On the plus side, I wanted to choose a sake to go with the food. The server helping me had two suggestions based on what I told him I liked. He voluntarily offered to let me taste both before deciding (with generous samples of each), as well as the house sake. The house sake wasn't bad and his two suggestions were both really good, so I just went with the cheaper of those two options. I sat at the chef's counter, and I did have to ultimately ask for water as well as find my own utensils/napkin nearby since those items were never brought to me. The other thing was that I felt like they went too fast in delivering the dishes from the tasting menu. I was sitting very close to the kitchen staff member who was plating my dishes. From almost the start, I was behind, and at one point I had three dishes queued up waiting for me. The last two courses were my least favorite (all the others were amazing), and I'm wondering if it's partially because they sat too long. One was a chicken meatball skewer with an uncooked egg yolk for dipping. The yolk was not even lukewarm; I would have suggested it be heated to about the temp/consistency of an egg parfait or soft poached egg for that dish...it felt like dipping into the yolk of an egg that had just been cracked. The last course was called "Mushroom party" and I love mushrooms, but this didn't do anything for me; the flavor was just okay and they just seemed dry from the grill-cooking, so the texture wasn't great. Personally, I would have preferred the final course to have been replaced by a small simple sweet course, like a mochi/ice cream.

All I can say is wow! Food was amazing- those fall off the bone pork ribs and delicious squid ink kaarage should not be missed. Even their house sake was lovely. And their service was fast and warm and friendly. The Yakitori selection was satisfactory, we’ve had better, but we certainly would come back for the rest of the menu. 👍👍👍

Nice Japanese yakitori bar where you can get decent drinks and yakitoris. I really liked squid ink karage and pork belly yakitori. Considering the price, portion is small here. If u want a place with drinks with small foods, i recommend coming here!
