Love haswells greens - always welcoming and have amazingly good gluten free options
One of the best places in New York! The talent of the pianists was mind-blowing! World-class entertainment in a casual setting.
We ere going to "The Cher Show" and we chose Haswell Green's because it was next door. The food and service were good. We love the decor and would definitely go there again.
Our first time here. My brother- in-law had recommended Haswell Green's to us.
great brunch! great service!
thanks to Deb whom my brother-in-law met first! nice to have met her!
We will be back!
Staff seemed overwhelmed, service was ok, menu was limited, but convenient location to theaters.
Very cool place. We went pre-theater but it has a great dueling piano lounge and good bar. Very fun.
We celebrated my daughters 10th birthday prior going to se Mean Girls and could not have asked for a better dining experience. Our server was amazing, so friendly, thoughtful and kind. Service was very prompt and the food was excellent!! The restaurant is beautiful and ambience was great. Highly highly recommend!!
Great spot for drinks with coworkers. Will be back!
Great atmosphere and the food was above average. The avocado croquettes were delicious. Our server Crystal was very attentive and extremely nice. Try the cheeseburger sliders too. Delicious.
We made a 4:45pm reservation and nobody ever mentioned we had to be out by 5:30pm (for a private party coming) until our entrees came at 5:15. We were super rushed. We wanted to leisurely eat/drink but nope.. spent 45minutes there. They should have told us sooner that they were clearing out at 5:30.. maybe when i made rhe reservation or when the hostess was going to seat us or when we first ordered drinks.
Went the week before for mother’s day and had a nice meal with my son
This past Sunday food was just ok
Everything about this place is really quite good. We had an early dinner prior to a club date - and the food was excellent. Our server "P", was attentive, quick and friendly. Really great service...makes such a difference. The decor was really nice - great vibe.....food outstanding!
It was our anniversary brunch. No acknowledgement or well wishes at all, much less any treat. Food typo really looking for not much. Sausage underdone and tasted off. Servers were nice, but host doesn't want to be there.
Good food and atmosphere. Service was a bit slow as the kitchen was backed up. Didn’t ruin the experience though!
I give the service a low star rating only because of the waitress. She wasn’t attentive and a little snippy. The manager fixed everything for us, thank God, and discounted our bill. Menu needs to be redone as it doesn’t include items in your food, which was the problem. Once we got the food, it was pretty good.
Great place, great food and alot of fun with the duel piano players. The brunch offered alot of variety and the service was fast,
Waiter came promptly amd we said we needed time to look at the menu. He came back one minute later asking if we were ready yet, almost annoyed we weren't. We ordered (3 meals, 1 appetizer). Meals came out (one had to be returned bc we said no sauce, other was missing lettuce and tomato and bun was soggy wet). Appetizer? Oh, it's coming. The appetizer we were waiting for were the sourdough pretzel bites. Menu said $10. Billed $11. Anyway they were 3 round balls of warmed up stale sourdough bread and a ramikan of mustard and a ramikan of what we were expecting to be a beer cheese to dip it in, but it was thick and hardish, if that makes sense. Couldn't find the waiter to tell him order was wrong. Had to bring the food up to the bar, where i found the server chatting with the others. The place was empty. Service should have been better. Not going back. But they were playing good music. There was the only plus.
The pizza was amazing!!!
The service, food, ambience were ALL very good, especially when Nicole, our server, stepped in to be sure we were treated properly and to be sure that everything was “up to par.” I’m sure this would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of the Manager. Forgive me please for spelling her name incorrectly: it was spelled somewhat like Cliara (she’s from Galway, if that’s any help.)
The venue is lovely and offers much more than just food and drink. (By the way, be sure to order ice cream for dessert...it’s OUT OF THIS WORLD!)
We were there for a pre-matinee meal. If we lived closer, we’d be sure to return evenings as well as AFTER an evening performance.
We loved the entertainment and the sing a longs-so much fun!!! Service was very cordial and attentive.
Enjoyed the piano players performing while we ate a quick bite before taking our granddaughter to see Wicked. Not a bad place to go if you are near the Gershwin theater and looking for a bite and some musical entertainment while you eat.
Great location and feel, drinks very yummy. I wasn't thrilled with the cheese bites.
Will return for pre/post show cocktails.
Excellent experience! Great service! Wonderful atmosphere!! Lots of shareable options, something for everyone
The food was good. But I loved the dueling pianos . We had so much fun singing. it really made the restaurant so much fun
Super fun bar with great live music! The drinks are very very pricey for the amount of alcohol they give you. You're better off getting wine or beer here. The cocktails are super tasty but weak.
This place was great. Wish we had found it 4 days earlier into our trip. We missed our reservation due to a show but they let us come anyway (Tues night). The waitress was nice, food was good and live entertainment. Loved it. Must go. And very close to the Gershwin.
Haswell Green's is a great place to eat with friends and family although though the restaurant offers limited menu options, small portions and some items being ridiculously over-priced the food is very good.
Overall, it's a cute place in the theatre district but way overpriced for the portions and type of food.
The venue is great the people and staff friendly I always enjoy myself here
Went for dinner with a group of 4. The atmosphere is nice but the waiter we had was so slow and forgot about us several times. The drinks were ok but not worth the cost and the food was very average. It’s a sister bar of Dutch Fred’s which I love! Maybe I just went here in a bad night because Dutch Fred’s has always been really good food and fast service.
Picked the restaurant for its proximity to Neil Simon theater (directly next door) before a Saturday matinee and was delightfully surprised and wowed by the live music/dueling pianos. Made lunch a super fun part of the day out! Will definitely go back.
Excellent pre or post theater spot! Always a good crowd and live music
Just visited prior to seeing Mean Girls. Our table was immediately ready upon our arrival. The servers were very attentive and food was served very quickly. The menu is a bit limited for dinner like items but their apps and sharing plates were good. Pizza was an excellent pub pie. Everything that we ordered was very tasty.
I had never visited and picked the restaurant because of its proximity to a theatre- how lucky was I! The food was amazingly delicious the decor adorable and the service was excellent - we shared to be able to sample several dishes- can’t wait to go again and have that great lunch special - but what shall I pick - so many great choices!
Excellent food, waitress Meighan was great. The bar and restaurant were beautiful
A very fun place with great food and service.
Arrived for a 4:45 pm reservation and were seated promptly. However, No server came to our table until 5:05 despite my visit to the greeter to inform them. Once we did get a server, we were informed that it was a limited menu because it was a pre-theatre time. I consider that to be nonsense. No mention of that on the menu, and it’s utterly ridiculous for a restaurant in the theatre district to make that claim. In any case, at 5:45 we received our appetizers and entrees at the same time. Terrible experience.
Met my parents here for a pre theater brunch. The menu was great - different for the area with some creative breakfast dishes. And the food was really good. Honestly I was surprised how good it was.
I had NO idea it was a “dueling piano bar” when I made the reservation..... chose it for the location and open tables at the right time. But once we got used to the music (it was a bit loud) - it was a fun spot!
It felt like somewhere you would go while on vacation Outside is NYC..... like a Myrtle Beach or Nashville. Which I think is why I was suprised by how good the food was. Very large too.
Only complaint: service was a bit slow and lacking. For a restaurant in the theater district I expected a more attentive wait staff.
For example: We ordered an egg dish with scrambled vs fried egg as it was advertised. My Father doesn’t eat fried eggs. But It came with the fried egg anyway. Waitress even commented as she put the dish down that it was wrong.
No biggie - we just asked to get some scrambled on the side, rather than send the whole thing back - and w could start eating. . It took forever to get the extra egg. Had to ask two more times. And then we were told “don’t worry - we won’t charge for it.” I would have assumed that was a given - since we got the wrong order ..... not because it took so long.
Also - we probably would have ordered more drinks if wait staff came around more often!
It took so long for someone to come A I even got up from the table and ordered my first beverage at the bar, rather than wait for a server to come around.
I will say, Everyone WAS very nice and friendly..... I just wonder if on a Saturday during holiday season more staff is needed to better accommodate the crowd.
But again - the food was great, menu was reasonably priced for a NYC restaurant and the staff was friendly.
The good news: The venue is really cool. The place looks even nicer in person than the photos. Great space for an office party. The bad news: Service was like a C-. Staff was nice enough but we waited forever for everything and it wasn't even busy! They seemed very disorganized which is surprising for a NY City place. Plus the food for was just OK. Some things were good (the pizza) and some were downright terrible (like the salads). If are you looking for beer and pizza in a cute place in the theater district then this place would be a good place to go.
Amazing! So helpful and great food.
