Wonderful service and ambience. Enjoyed the presentation of the food very much. A bit pricey, but well worth it for the experience. Vegetarians -- if you make prearrangements -- are well served here as well.
Every single piece of nigiri was from a different part of Japan. Amazing chef with decades of experience and great service.
Spectacular isn’t a good enough word to describe this place. It was an experience and such a special evening. No detail was spared and everything was executed perfectly. We loved it!
Dined with a client and sat at the sushi counter. With some sake our bill exceeded $1,000 which is wildly expensive. Generally, each dish was quite good with one exception that really missed. The nigiri sushi was exceptional. The service was impeccable and they never missed a thing.
I am rating it 4 star because I think the prices are a bit high, for example, we added a tuna hand roll that cost $25 each and they are tiny. They also add a 20% gratuity which they deserved but I like to decide for myself.
Great service, nice ambiance and good food make this a worthwhile experience. Just know you are paying about 20/30% more than I think its worth.
We loved it. Very good service, the food great. The best; two types of tasting menu.
For a Michelin one star restaurant this place is totally not worth, they use cheap ingredients, also the chef is not friendly, service is pretty good but for this price I wouldn’t recommend to any friends
Amazing omakase Kaiseki experience. Pricey but you get what you pay for!
Outstanding and unique dining experience. If you can afford the kaiseki it's well worth the extra charge.
I went to Hashiri with my partner to celebrate my birthday. The food was absolutely amazing, for sure one of the best Japanese food I’ve ever tried. However, our dining experience was very poor. There were four guests in the restaurant started drinking and shouting like they were in a pub or a nightclub, and that was really annoying, making our stay a nightmare until the end. In such a place like this, the value is not only for the food, but also the experience, and this was completely ruined.
In my opinion, people from the place should do something to avoid these kind of situations.
The service was really good, and the staff apologised many times about this, which it was appreciated.
I can understand what happened was only this time, but I wouldn’t recommend this place after my stay.
Probably the best dining experience I've had in my life. It's pricey but truly a special experience and worth every penny!
One of the best restaurants in SF and definitely the best Japanese restaurants in SF
Amazing time. Our server Taka took us on an amazing dining journey inspired by the Tanabata festival in Japan and wow... amazing story, cuisine, experience. All aces all the way
As always the food was unique and superb, service excellent, and ambiance first class.
Aniversario de novios
A little bit over decorated and overpriced. Fish selection is fine. Feel too much into fusion style instead of pure Japanese style.
Hashiri is a beautiful restaurant with great food. If you are interested in Kaiseki then definelty go one of the nights like we did. The nigiri dishes we had were pretty good too. Most memorable dish was the Maguro dipped in soy quail egg mixture, very very good.
Outstanding experience! Everything about the meal was perfect.
We did the Kaiseki experience. The first two courses were amazing, but the rest were mixed. Most were very good, but a few were just ordinary. We paid $900+ for 2 people. At that price, everything should have been extraordinary.
Our meal at Hashiri was so wonderful and so special!
food is great and we enjoyed it a lot. The taste and cuisines are uniquely found out of the omakase I have eaten in Bay Area.
This is one the best fine dining experiences I have had in SF. Definitely will be choosing for our next special occasion
The food was fantastic! From the moment we walked in the front door til we left, the service was beyond exceptional.
We had such a wonderful dinner here. Every item on their several course set menu was amazing. The entire staff collaborated to explain each dish and our wine/sake pairings. The nigiri is the best I’ve ever had (even including our Tokyo trip!). We spent around 2.5 hrs but it flowed well and we never felt like we had been there too long. Amazing decor and service. We’ll go back for sure!
Great service, quality food
I agree with some of the research that I did going into the experience, I didn’t care too much for the kaiseki portion though it was still good. But the nigiri was amazing and I only wish the $250 tasting menu felt like a better value. Might come back in the future, after I’ve had the chance to dine at other high end sushi establishments in San Francisco.
This is a wonderful restaurant in every way!! The staff and attention to detail was over the top! Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening!!
Great food - outstanding quality. Wine and sake was amazing. The chef and sommelier where super knowledgeable. This is a staple if you enjoy the finest of Japanese cuisine.
The service is good. The food is OK. But, as a Michelin restaurant, we expect more. The restaurant is overpriced. Won't recommend to other friends.
It was so expensive for what at the end was. One time dinner, not coming back.
Best place for omakase!
Hashiri never fails to delight us every time when we go there. Very personal service and superb food. For our family, we feel that it can surpass some of the 3 MStars places around.
Good food and nice ambience, but very pricey and not as good as other places. If you're looking for an unforgettable Japanese dining experience in SF, I would recommend Omakase or Ju-Ni. If you want to go, be prepared to spend $550-$650 per person to truly enjoy it.
Appetizer courses were good but fairly forgettable. 3-5 small bites in each of two courses, of which only 1 bite was really noteworthy. Grilled wagyu beef and vegetables was really good. Nigiri courses were great, but I would have rather had more nigiri and less of the appetizer course. Also, Omakase and Ju-Ni charge less for their tasting menus and have nigiri that is at least as good. Dessert was great, though.
In addition to being generally underwhelmed, one experience in particular stood out as particularly off-putting:
First, I tried to order a reasonably priced and delicious bottle of sake that I had had before. The waiter said that they were out of it and that they were also out of three of the other four bottles from that producer that they had listed on the menu. He then recommended the only bottle from that producer that they had in stock, which was 3x the price of the bottle I was originally interested in. Most waiters and sommeliers will take the price of a bottle you suggest as an indication, but not here. After I rejected the hyper-expensive bottle, he recommended another bottle that was much cheaper but still more expensive than the one I had originally ordered. I had a sample of both the sake he recommended and of one of the cheapest ones they offered to make sure I could tell the difference. The cheaper bottle was not very good, despite being priced above $80. The more expensive one was indeed delightful, but I later saw two other tables with it, which makes me wonder why they were pushing it so hard and charging so much for it. Before I had taken a single bite of food, I felt like I had already worked hard and was maybe being taken in by a racket.
Always a great dining experience accompanied by gracious service.
Service remarquable, produits d'une grande fraîcheur, plats extrêmement raffinés, le tout accompagné de sake exceptionnels
Super great. Totally worth it every time. Perfect service as usual.
Delicious meal and excellent service. Hope to return soon!
