Nice brunch selection. Portion size is great; not too much, not too little

Food was excellent on the fixed price menu - i was virtually only customer at 6pm so little ambience but I imagine it buzzes when full

Great lunch of steak frites and bottomless top ups of Heineken. V tasty indeed.

Usually good and have left several good reviews, but the Sunday Roast beef was over cooked and seemed to be lacking a little in quantity (as in, there was two small pieces), the potatoes are thrown into a bowl with vegetables and thus all soft and a bit sad looking. Not sure if the chef has changed compared to previous weeks but this was not a good one.

Overall this was a great meal for an extremely reasonable price. There were two large groups dining when we did which meant the service was slightly slower and it got a bit noisy at times but the staff made up for these shortfalls. Jack, in particular was friendly, helpful and informative. I felt that there was nothing he couldn't do to help and he was very knowledgeable on the menu and able to make informed recommendations.

We were visiting from London. We really liked the service, food and cocktails. It is a stylish restaurant that wasn't too noisy or too rammed. We would definitely recommend eating here.

It was far too quiet only 3 people in the restaurant - Waiters were super friendly but would have much prefered to eat in the bar as there was no atmosphere in the restaurant at all.
Drinks were really expensive

Harvey Nichols never ceases to amaze me with the quality of service and food. The value for money is superb too. I could not fault it in any way

Friendly waiting staff,lovely food. Beautiful restaurant although we went straight from work so it was a little but quiet.

Decor, tables were dated felt more like a commercial dining room. Statrters were poor value for money rest was better although my main dish was cold.

Great food, well cooked and service spot on. Only down side was the shop cafe feel and being seated looking out onto the main shop floor , not a romantic valentine dinner for two feel.

Staff are all very friendly and helpful, food and drinks were all lovely and the live music was also really enjoyable

We were very disappointed with both the quality of the food and the service. We had the afternoon tea for a friend’s 30th birthday, we were not offered tea or coffee and had to ask 3 times for a coffee which eventually arrived after we’d eaten and the coffee itself was burnt.

Each part of the afternoon was disappointing, the scones were more like bread rolls, the macaroons were chewy and lumpy and the savoury snacks were bit of a joke.

The staff were attentive and the food was delicious.

This was our first time to visit HN for food and we probably won’t return out of choice. We eat in many restaurants in Birmingham and it’s clear to say that this is not on our top 20 list.

Pros: Service from the manager to the waiting team was great, polite and attentive (our wine glasses were never left empty).

Cons: Although the menu had great variety on eating I wasn’t left enamoured. The atmosphere reminded me of eating in a large restaurant in the Emirates, cold echoing marble and gold over opulence (I’m sure you’re getting the style over substance flavour).. there was a large party in a semi private area right next to our table which made conversation a little challenging to hear.

In summary, if you are out shopping and just need to find somewhere to eat.. you won’t be too disappointed with this place.. but equally you may be left wondering why you didn’t just walk up one flight of stairs to one of Mailbox’s many restaurants which offer much better food, atmosphere for a similar if not cheaper price.

Good menu, including salads, and hot dishes. Food freshly prepared from the open kitchen. Tables are nicely spaced, allowing nice conversation levels. Good decor, and service.

It was a birthday dinner we had to Waite more than 10 minuets before someone came to us I ordered a Sirloin Steak well done it was rubbery and it was not well done it was pink so l had to ask for it to be cooked more has we had tickets to go the theatre it was our first time visit there were no waiting staff around that were coming to you to see if you were ok not impressed

Great service, the team at Harvey Nichols were great as always. Great atmosphere. The food however, took long. We arrived for 5.30, food didn’t get served till 6.30. I was lead to believe our medium steaks were taking long to prepare. It turned out to be a rare to medium steak that was chewy.

Having been to the OXO tower location several times, I was unpleasantly surprised. If you want a steak please don’t get one from here!

Went for a 70th birthday - no one mentioned this , even though we said on the booking, but it was a lovely relaxed lunch and my mum enjoyed it.

We had a very pleasant lunch with very tasty food off the A La Carte menu. The service was excellent with very engaging staff. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our visit, although I had thought we would have afternoon tea we were too early, so had the lunch menu instead. We were very pleased we did. Limited choice but very good indeed with lovely flavours. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant .

Mum daughters took me for the first time last Mothers Day, along with our family including 2 vegetarians and two children aged 3 & 5 and it was superb, great choice and menu all round. Since then I have taken girlfriends when in Birmingham for lunch and on each of the three occasions for the special lunch menu which has always been delicious impressive food including a cocktail - amazing deal. Cannot wait until they bring out the new Autumn menu. Well done, just love the ambience of the Restaurant

Unfortunately the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. The starterse were poor. The scallops were tin and overcooked. (They did knock the starters off the bill). The main course was fine and the service was good. But no atmosphere. It felt more like we were having a meal in a cordened off section of a shop rather than a posh restaurant.

The restaurant in Harvey Nichols offers well prepared food, attentive service, plus an awesome view. We enjoyed the choices we had for the fixed price lunch and the presentation. On a clear day, the views of Edinburgh Castle and the city are fabulous.

We all had the £22 three course with cocktail menu which was great value. Food was inventive and good quality. Smoked salmon scotch egg starter was particularly good. Service was friendly and efficient. Wine list was varied but a bit expensive.

I made a booking through Open Table and made a mistake. I booked the Harvey Nichols in Birmingham by mistake. I meant the Harvey Nichols in London!
I emailed the Birmingham restaurant to let them know.
When I showed up at the London restaurant they were so kind and found us a table - when I realized I didn't have a reservation

Staff was extremely accommodating considering we booked last minute with the offer but due to miscommunications from the website, the steak with the offer were not available when we attended for dinner on 22 June (through no fault of the restaurant). They involved the manager immediately who authorised an upgrade the cut of the steak, and stuck to the offer price. Food was excellent, and I cannot praise the staff enough. Thank you for a great evening.

Received an offer to visit Harvey Nichols restaurant, I had not been to before and was blown away by the great food and wonderful staff. Really enjoyed the experience and will definitely return.

Me and my girlfriend visited Harvey Nichols on Friday evening as it was our 1 year anniversary! The restaurant is absolute beautiful and i decided to surprise my girlfriend and take her there as i had been before and it was fantastic. The evening was brilliant however our food was very cold! I was absolutely gutted it tasted ok but it was really cold and the chips tasted really raw i didn't complain at the time as I'm not like that but looking back i am so disappointed!

Interesting choice and worth a try. Ambience-wise, it's hard to get away from the fact that you're in a shop (even if the rest of it is closed). Food was decent and service was pleasant.
