Harvest Table Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent. The service was off on the night we went. The main restaurant was fairly quiet but we were told they only had seating on the porch and put us there with a few other couples. It was chilly and not ideal, even with the heat lamps. They should had offered indoor seating which was plentiful. The service was also lax, bringing my food and not my friends which was only corrected after waiting for 15 minutes and calling over the server. So, I'd highly recommend the food and ambience but strongly recommend the restaurant look at its service structure.
The inside portion of the restaurant was quite loud. We sat outside, which was great until a large party was sealed right next to us. The food was great, but service was quite slow. Appetizer took 25 minutes. Entrees were out 35 minutes after that. Our waiter got the large party as our entrees arrived and too a long while to check on our entrees and again for coffee/dessert. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry and enjoyed the leisurely service.
The young man that greeted us, Shawn C, welcoming us back with some bubbly, was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing creative and delicious. The chef can do amazing things with fish which is one of the reasons we like to dine there. Sending my friends to this fantastic restaurant.
Last res. For evening..Seated on porch as requested..But took 10 min. for someone to ask if we wanted water...another 10 for water to show..then another 10 to order wine & app..They did split our entree in the kitchen although the servers didn’t think they would! Very well crafted entree..Nice ambiance!
on the suggestion of a friend, we came for dinner 3 weeks ago. We suggested that our friends join us for dinner on the 24th of Sept. The food was very poor-it was unrecognizable to our previous dinner. The placed a group of 12 on the patio with us. All conversation was impossible. They should have been in the main dining room or on the other patio. Our very nice friends looked up at us and said, "this food is really, really poor quality". I can't recommend it again or return.
The food was great and the ambiance was also enjoyable, the service however left a lot to be desired. We sat an waited for 15 minutes after we were done and had to finally flag someone down to get a check. Then they dropped it off and took another 10 minutes to pick up and run the credit card. Not what I would expect from a restaurant of this level. If this was improved I would highly recommend every other aspect.
My mom, sister and I recently visited Napa and stayed at The Harvest Inn. We dined at The Harvest Table one evening and it was outstanding. The food was fresh, creative, beautiful and delicious. The Chef even came out to talk with the diners a couple times over the course of the evening. The Harvest Table has its own garden on site. The beet salad was the best I have ever had, and my filet was cooked to perfection! We dined outside, but under an awning, so it was cozy and warm. The bar offers a fun selection of custom crafted cocktails and local wines. Very very good - I would dine there again for sure!
Starter Course: Positive - Foie Gras Torchon, was very good.
Main Course: Negative - Ultra small portion, lamb tasted very gamey, giving the perception that it was a little older than I would have expected and the vegetables were more raw than al dente and were not warm enough.
Dessert Course: Negative - Ultra small portion, Layer Cake, tasted ok
Patios need some TLC , for the level restaurant and price they are far from pristine.. service ok, too many different faces at the table but not consistent, food just ok. My filet which they claim is one of there specials was the size of a half-dollar. I threw them off when I asked for ground pepper... no pepper mill?? Really
We went to Harvest Table for the first time. Prior to making reservations, we read the reviews, but kept an open mind.
The service was spot on, responsive, engaged, friendly, but not obsequious or over done.
The cocktails were the inventive, creative and unique--loved every drop. We will be back for those again! Mary's chicken and the starch and veggies were perfectly done, with great seasoning. The desert we shared was a Chantilly cream with berries and a macaron with lime cream--refreshing and alive. All in all, a delightful experience. The prices were not excessive, despite the quality and reputation of the chef. We enjoyed every minute!
Make sure you do not miss this little gem when in St Helena. Harvest table exceeded our expectations from the lovely patio dining on a beautiful evening to end a perfect day. To the lovely server zoomie And the wonderful food by Chef Wolf. It was a delightful experience, Tastebuds delight. The sea bass was perfect. Crispy skin, wonderful curry sauce that just complemented the baluga lentils and fennel to perfection. My husband had the filet, and believe me He is a meat guy and he said it was outstanding! The foie gras was a totally different preparation for me, belilisimo. The dessert a light perfect ending to our meal. Lemon semifreddo with a French Macaroon and fresh figs ! Ah. Don't wait to check this spot out. Nice bar scene and patio seating !
Looked forward to dining at another Charlie Palmer-run restaurant, this one for the first time. We were not disappointed. The bar was staffed with pleasant and knowledgeable gents, and the atmosphere was very mellow. The dining room was very spare, but pleasant, and the tables were not close together, so conversation was comfortable. The service was superb, present and helpful but not hovering. Our meals were prepared perfectly, served at proper temperature--could not ask for more.
We brought in a bottle of Napa wine, and the staff was delighted to pour for us-corkage for Napa wines is waived at Harvest Table.
Overall, Harvest Table maintains the fine standards also evident in every other CP endeavor. It has earned immediate "go-to" status for whenever we are in the Napa Valley.
Shawn was a great server and the rest of the Harvest Table team was always there to clear plates and deliver our food if he was with another table - great teamwork! The food was fresh, beautifully played and FULL of flavor! Malt French Fries are heavenly and the Cavatelli pasta is light yet ever so satisfying! Peanut Butter Bar is one of the best desserts I've ever eaten! I will be back as soon as possible!
Terrible! When you spent $250 for 3 for lunch and get a bad glass of wine from the corovan and spoke to the manager, his comment was noted and walked away! It was a Newton Cabernet! Stay and ate her numerous times in the pass 20 years, will not go back and advise people not to go there!
Cute property with clusters of buildings where guests stay which is separate from the main check-in and restaurant. Comfy porch greeted us after parking in a garden area with stone pillars & paths to rooms and the restaurant; garden art was entertaining too. I couldn't take my eyes off the wood carvings on the huge staircase. Modern & industrial feel to the inside dining but cottage like on the side porch where we ate. My boyfriend described his food as stunning including the fresh baked desserts and he couldn't put the coffee blend down; he even tried to buy their coffee. I had French macaroons, what a treat. Gluten free and dairy free wasn't an issue for me. The big open bar plus a lounge area looked like fun but we brought some Napa wine to dinner so they uncorked it, no charge. Service was a little slow at times to get their attention but we weren't in a rush that night so it wasn't an issue.
