Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar - North Wales Ratings and Reviews
Very good upscale farm-to-table chain. Had a great dinner on a Wednesday night, in Radnor.
Tried the North Wales location 9 days later, on a Friday night, and did not enjoy as much. The place was full, and the din of the crowd was tremendous. Our waitress was lovely, but seemed hassled. Our cocktails were very good (kudos to the bartender for my excellent Negroni). Sadly, my wife found a long hair in her tikka masala fish, so that ruined her experience. That can happen anywhere (including our dining companions at Le Bec Fin), and the hostess graciously apologized & deleted the dish from the bill. The food is interesting & creative, with many healthy choices. We tried the popular pear & blue cheese flatbread. FYI - it is VERY flat, like matzo. Tried 2 different mousse-like desserts, one at each location. These little dessert cups are not great - I prefer a lighter texture. Might be because they are served cold. We'll go back, as I love the concept, enjoyed most of the food, and the prices are surprisingly reasonably.
We definitely needed reservations for Saturday night at 6:00 for two people. I was surprised how busy this restaurant was. We both ordered fish which was tasty and had nice accompaniments and it was good and hot. It was not a huge portion which is just fine with me and esp. since they focus on calorie counts. We could converse easy enough, so it wasn't overly loud. I like the 3 different sizes of wine servings. The beginning explanation for a new guest was a little long, about the food sourcing and calories and health. With just two of us and only ordering wine and an entree, we were in and out in a little over an hour which timed out just perfect.
Pleasantly surprised. Great service - quick seating (we had reservations); our waitress was very knowledgeable and made good recommendations.
I had the sword fish; in retrospect I probably should've had the chicken special for the day. Would defenetly recommend it friends and family.
Our table for 4 was a tight fit; would recommend for the establishment to get bigger tables?!
we were tired after traveling most of the day, and was looking for something really good to eat. this place was recommended by the manager at the staybridge hotel where we were staying. we were delightfully surprised to say the least! excellent ambiance, food choices were incredible and what we decided on was delicious. the pear martini was awesome too! the price was comparable to the quality of the meal. I will definitely visit this restaurant again!
I don't know why my Open Table reservation at this restaurant is always treated with disrespect. The restaurant had empty booths; the occupied booths had 2 people. They directed us to a small table near the bar in a very noisy section. I refused it, pointed to an empty booth where they reluctantly sat my husband and me. We are a couple in our 70's who should be treated with respect. This was not the first time this happened at this restaurant.
I would like Open Table to have a word with the management about reservation etiquette.
Went with a friend who I hadn't seen for a while. The staff was great out letting us chat it out before and after we ate, didn't rush out out. Was attentive but not intrusive. Really liked the relaxed vibe and menu options. WE went for brunch, perfect place!
We had another great dinner here . The scallops and risotto were excellent and the stuffed pork shop was the best I have ever tasted! The beef lettuce wraps were very tasty but difficult to wrap. The beef was in long pieces on skewers which made it challenging to fit in the small lettuce leaves and put toppings on. The apple pie dessert was excellent.
We enjoyed our dinner at Harvest tonight.
Though a few things were off and I️ hope just a hiccup for tonight.
First, my Sauvignon Blanc wine (by the glass) came to the table strangely cloudy and tasted as if it had water in it. I’m pretty sure it had...I️ sent it back and received a clear, full tasting wine as should be expected.
On the cheese plate... the cheese selection was good but the deep rind cheese had too much inedible rind ratio to cheese. And, the accompanying grape cluster had grapes pulled off rather than cut away making the presentation seem like someone had already had some of the tray.
The beet appetizer was excellent, as it was on our last visit. The edamame seasoning selection left us leave some on the plate...better just sea salt.
The entrees were good all around and everyone finished and enjoyed. (I️ again had the Barramund Tikki Masala)
Our server was pleasant and attentive but was a bit of an oversell and totally not necessary in our case.
I️ will admit that I’m not a big dessert eater, so I’m not likely to order, but I️ find the cups of dessert less than refreshing and fresh. If there was fruit, ice cream or sorbet available it wasn’t mentioned. In addition to the cups...perhaps one simple after dinner sweet could be tempting.
All in all, it was a pleasant night out. We were seated immediately even though we arrive early for our Open table reservation, our requested table was ready and waiting for us. This for me is a big plus!!!
The food was amazing. I would prefer more vegan options, but I was able to get around that. My husband and daughter really enjoyed their meals. My husband rarely goes out to eat (he prefers to cook) and for him to want to go back means it was extraordinary! We will be going back very soon.
Jenna the bartender was extremely generous!
Our meal was very good. We do not have allergy issues but both got a salad & entree that we enjoyed. I thought the music was odd & distracting, maybe a little loud? The service was strange as they didn't seem to know who was handling our table. We started with one server, switched to another, and then she seemed busy & never came back. The original server came for our coffee order & then the other for dessert. was a bit hectic.
Apps were a little expensive. We ordered the cheese table and there was a small amount of cheese on the plate; exactly two grapes and some cut up apple. The spreads were good but very little for what we paid. I ordered the stuffed pork chop with sausage and cornbread. Cooked perfect, but all I could taste was the cornbread. Instead of the mashed sweet potatoes, I ordered regular garlic mashed. They need a lot more cream, butter and garlic to make it more tasty. All the other meals seemed fine and the place was nice.
My sister and I went there for our birthday lunch. The brussel sprouts app w/ the bacon bits was really good! The rainbow trout and the spaghetti squash plates were delicious. Then we ended our visit with the banana nutmeg ice cream. What a perfect way to end our lunch!
Dinner at Harvest was exceptionally good this weekend. The four of us had a great booth and attentive service. We were taken for our Open Table reservation as soon as we arrived.
The beet salad tasted fresh and was chilled to the right temperature. My Barramundi Tikki Marsalla was outstanding! I can't wait to order it again. All of my dining mates enjoyed their meals as well. We will be going back soon!
