Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar – Newtown
Great food, great atmosphere
Delicious, a bit pricy. One of the downsides of locally sourced ingredients is the occasional time when what you want is not there. Not a problem unless you’re picky. The benefit is locally sourced ingredients.
I love Harvest Wine Bar every time I go! Such a pleasure to have such a nice restaurant in my town.
Ordered a plain gluten-free cheeseburger. I specifically asked for just meat, cheese, and a gluten-free bun. I still received all of the veggies I didn’t want. I told the waitress who brought it back to the kitchen. Upon the return of my food there was still a pickle mixed in with my fries. This sullied the fries by making them taste of pickle: not appreciated.
I know that baked gluten-free items are usually smaller than a “normal” baked item however, the hamburger roll that I received was so stale and the size of a slider-bun. This again added to the disappointment. Our waitress was completely inaccessible so I just had to deal with a very bad meal.
A plain cheeseburger with fries and a gluten-free bun turned into the most difficult order and ended up to be inedible. I would prefer to not return but because gluten-free options are tougher to come-by I’m sure I’ll reluctantly be back. I just hope that it’s better.
The Food I ordered was way to salty and I love salt
My dates had no salt or flavor
My drink was forgotten and had to ask waitress for 20 minutes later if I was getting it
The pear blue cheese flatbread was good
I’ve now been to harvest 3 times and find the service to be poor. The waitress was very nice but not attentive to the table and passed many times without asking how everything was. The food is just okay and over priced. The wine selection is good and the wine flights are nice however everything else made it a poor experience.
New Winter menu is delicious & healthy, nice atmosphere, good service, has become our neighborhood go to.
Food was good. Service was extremely slow. It took a long time to get our drinks. I would expect them to serve drinks quicker to encourage patrons to buy more!
Excellent service. Great food
Food and service were very good. We had appetizers instead of a big meal but $16 for a 7oz glass of wine seems like NYC prices
This was my 2nd visit to Harvest. In the past, my elderly mother had her dietary restrictions respected and, although rather bland, her food was prepared to her specifications. This time, however, her needs created quite a challenge. Our server, Cara was awesome! She persisted in her negotiations with the kitchen staff and was able to deliver a delicious meal formulated according to Mom's needs. The other 5 diners were also impressed with the deliciousness of the food and the professional and accommodating service. I live out of town, so I do not have the opportunity to visit Harvest often, but it will always be my "go to" restaurant. Best wishes for your continued success.
A little pricy and portion size on the smaller side. But delish
Autumnal menu: Turkey Chili is excellent! Perfect on a chilly day.
This us my first bad review of Harvest
The host and our waitress were 4 + stars as usually but everything these was 2 stars
Harvest is usually loud but we were sat on the bar side where the noise level is a 10+
Food was delivered quickly but was tasteless some thing that has never happened before
We always look forward to the deserts another waiter brought the desert tray
I had the pumpkin and my wife had the apple and pear cobbler shots
The pumpkin tasted off and the apple pear just had raw fruit not what was expected
The cobbler was replaced but I came to find out the pumpkin was vegan from our waitress
Just not a pleasant experience tonight
Our table was promptly ready when promised, server was attentive and the food was excellent.
The Harvest Grill has become one of our favorite restaurants in the Newtown area ever since it opened. Saturday just reinforced that belief as we had another wonderful dinner. We love the seasonal offerings which entice us to return often.
Great food great service and great ambience I highly recommend Dining there!!
We enjoy Harvest because they offer several vegan options. We were especially surprised and pleased with the special treatment we received for our anniversary. We were treated to a complimentary champagne toast and at the end of the meal we were presented with a card that included a coupon for complimentary dessert at our next visit.
The flatbread that we ordered was very sparse to say the least and one of the salads was not great either. Our server, Rachel, was so kind and professional though and had the flatbread taken off the check . The salad was not worth the price . I’ve been there in the past and enjoyed it but not that night. It’s worth a try at least . Good bar scene and always crowded .
Great seasonal menu and variety, with good ambiance and knowledgeable wait staff.
We are frequent diners of Harvest. Since it has opened, we've noticed that the service has gotten a lot better and the food is pretty consistent UNTIL tonight. The chef was obviously was having an off night which was surprising because it wasn't busy at all. 3 of us; the hamburger came out raw (should have been med/well) and two chickens came out chewy and un-edible. They did us a credit off the bill. We will go back, but for a little while, time for a break.
Good selection for brunch. Good for people who are allergic to eggs as they have a non-egg substitute that is very good.
The food I ordered was really bad. The three bean chili had no flavor, was pasty with a repeated reheated strong tomato paste base. It was not fresh at all!! The other dishes we ordered were OK. The butter nut squash soup also felt like it had been reheated repeatedly. The korean lettuce wraps were not too bad. The sword fish was OK.
Love this place. Always good, fresh food and good service. Lots of gluten free options, calorie conscious options as well. Love the dessert shots for dessert, just enough sweet at the end.
This was my third time at Harvest and it was once again Fabulous!! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone, never disappoints!!!
Service was great, they really took care of us for our Anniversary.
Restaurant is trying to hard to be too many things. Food is a bit on the expensive side but not too bad, however the taste was completely mediocre. Many others around so no need to visit again.
The flatbread appetizers were very tasty (Margherita and Short Rib). Salmon and Three Bean Chili were very good. The menu is unique and varied. We will definitely be back
Lovely decor, good, fresh food and friendly, attentive service.
Always a pleasure to dine at Harvest! Food, service and ambiance is a always on point!
Excellent beef burger perfect medium. Blackened salmon on salad terrific.
Food and ambiance are excellent. The only thing that could improve is the dessert menu.
Disappointed in the service . We asked for an ice water with lemon several times and just got ice water. Then we asked for a straw twice. Seems as if our server didn’t want to be bothered by our table.
So many gluten free and vegan options. Service was great.
Harvest is always delicious! Had some newer fall items last night. All were pretty good! The beet toast appetizer was only so/so...good, but just lacking some depth of flavor. Besides that, the chicken lettuce wraps, filet and short ribs were awesome! We always love it here!
An excellent menu and location! If you make a reservation, there is no wait. Crowds were waiting to be seated and we walked right in. Great service.
Very impressed with the plant based options!
Very nice & appreciated the GF menu items.
Was I ever surprised at how good Harvest is! The menu is original, very fresh and seasonally innovative and simply delicious. My butternut squash soup and root vegetable bowl were simply divine. We opted for the wine flight, and that experience was made even more interesting by our knowledgeable waiter, Daulton. He was simply excellent.
