Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar – Glen Mills Ratings and Reviews
Have been to this Harvest 4 previous times and the food continues to impress. The service was great. I like people that take time to joke around a bit and our server was great that way. The food is always good with this now being my 5th time and the prices to me are line to what I would expect to pay. They let us sit at our table for almost 4 hrs which was even more impressive. We of course made sure we compensated our server as in some places Ive been to you feel rushed.
The food was excellent! I had the vegan pho, and my boyfriend had the Thai shrimp salad. The waitress very kindly brought me some extra sauces that customers really like to spice up the pho, since he vegan broth wasn’t very spicy. We also got the shrimp bao buns which were amazing!
My friends and I love this restaurant. This last visit was for their special restaurant week meal. It was 4 courses for $35, which was an absolute bargain. They offered many choices for each course and portion sizes were perfect. I definitely recommend them to my friends.
I have been to Harvest (Glen Mills) before and always enjoyed the food. This dinner was no different, as my pear & bleu flatbread and coffee-rubbed wagyu sirloin were both phenomenal.
Our server was very attentive at first, but my group was chatty, so we did not order for a while (15-20 minutes, though she came back 2-3 times to check). Waiting to order was a big mistake as it was restaurant week and the kitchen must have gotten backed up. After we ordered it took nearly 20 minutes to get our appetizer, and nearly 60 minutes for our entrees. The entree wait was especially disappointing, although everyone in the group LOVED their meals. I included the delays in this review because this is not the first time I've experienced that at Harvest. But that certainly won't stop me from coming again because I really enjoy the dining experience here.
It was a Friday night and Harvest was busy!
We were seated immediately which was great. We ordered the fig bourbon cocktail and it was yummy.
Then the food came and our overall experience went downhill. The pear, blue cheese flatbread had been under the hot lights too long, because it was congealed, cold and the crust was soggy.
The fish was overcooked, cold and tasteless. The steak arrived with a large slab of herb butter on top of the meat. Since the meat was served only slightly warm, the butter refused to melt. The short ribs were cooked well with a very tasty sauce. Definitely the best dish of the night. No dessert or coffee was ordered, we wanted to end this poor dining experience. The only thing not mediocre about this meal was the bill. $160 with tip for 3 people.
The problem seemed to be a kitchen that could not carry a full restaurant.
I’m sure the restaurant could care less. They will continue to be full of patrons that can afford and are willing to settle for just ok food and service. The Answer: drink more of those yummy drinks so the food seems good!
I love this place but the service is starting to fall off. The last few times we’ve been left twiddling our thumbs waiting for something. One of the things I fell in love with was the staff. Now we get snarky hostesses and sub par waiters more often than not. I hope that they go back to their old emphasis on quality.
Very good restaurant. Food was quite good, but it is an al acarte type menu, i.e., entre, sides, etc. each ordered separately. Biggest issue was we were seated at the first table inside the entrance area, and that day was cold and blustery. Each someone came in the door, a cold wind blew past. We would still go back, but I would choose different seating location.
If you love being seated 20 minutes after your reservation time, cheese boards that take 30 minutes to cook?, stale burger buns that taste like sand, and waiters that up-sell you on wine that’s out of stock, you’ll just love Harvest. They’re clearly too busy to operate properly because the staff seems stressed and disorganized.
Went here for Christmas Eve dinner. Even though I had made reservations, we were seated at a table on the other side of the bar. It was like being sent to Siberia. I had my coat on the entire time, there was no ambiance and the service was terrible.
Two of us ordered filet and asked for it to be done medium and medium rare. It was PURPLE when it arrived. They took our plates back and we never saw them again until about 35 minutes later. In the meantime, the person who ordered something else ate their dinner and waited with us, and had to wait to join us in case we wanted dessert.
Although they accorded us a 25% discount, the service was terrible, the filet arrived overdone the second time, and our special outing was more than disappointing - it was terrible. Won't go here again. Used to be a favorite.
Food is always good. HOWEVER the tables over by the 'cooking' are horrible!! The staff is loud and ignorant of nearby customers. There were many open tables but we were told 'everything was booked' and couldn't be moved (we were seated--with a reservation made way in advance, I might add) at the table closest to the cooking area. Horribly noisy, couldn't hold a conversation, ruined the outing.
Hands down the best food every time we dine there. Farm to table, fresh, memorable, pleasing and unique flavors for everyone. We have come on dates, special occasions, and friend gatherings always leaving satisfied. We have pure gratitude for the chef, and waitstaff. They always provide quality service that can accommodate anyone's food preference. Allergy friendly upon request, special orders as well. We love the seasonal menu. Justin has served us on multiple occasions and adds positivity to the whole experience. He, by far, is one of the top servers we've ever had out dining. I feel he is a big asset to Harvest in Glen Mills, Pa location. Thank you. We'll be back soon. Rosalee & Michael Schaefer
Friendly staff, prompt service, good quality food, reasonable prices. Festive atmosphere and comfortable booths. Butternut squash soup is excellent. Limited selection of entrees, but tasty combinations. Only five craft beer choices on tap, but wines were good. Plenty of free parking near upscale shopping.
