Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar – Glen Mills Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a last minute reason to celebrate and were delighted to get a table at Harvest. Our server was funny and attentive without being in the way. The food was amazing and within the limits of our eating plan.
Because the restaurant was packed it was loud, but we were able to enjoy ourselves and hold a conversation.
I love Harvest and always have a good meal/ time here . The last time I was here everything was great . My only complaint was the server. She was very nice but we felt very rushed. Sometimes you want to just sit and talk for awhile and not have the server hovering to collect the bill.
Harvest is always reliable, but always something new with the seasonal menus. Healthy food, full of flavor. The seafood is excellent quality. Great value for what you get. Large menu that has tons of great options. You leave feeling satisfied not stuffed. Bar makes great drinks and nice wine selection.
The cheese plate cheese was too hard and cold to cut. The vegetables were cold and hard and the entrees were barely warm. The beer list tells you nothing about the beer other than the name of the brewery so you have no idea what type of beer to order. The website doesn't include a beer or wine menu even though they call themselves a "wine bar." It wasn't a bad experience, but in this price range there are many options that are better.
A friend and I went here for a late lunch. It was a lovely day and the food was marvelous! We had the grilled salmon with grilled brussel sprouts and carrots. Our waiter and the bartender were both very attentive and both had great senses of humor. We took our time and managed to fit in some dessert. Topped off a great day.
I wanted to eat literally everything on the menu which means I will be returning to Harvest over and over until I eat my way through all the offerings. The short ribs were cooked to perfection and the salads and soup were investive and loaded with local seasonal vegetables. Make reservations - Everyone in the neighborhood knows that Harvest is the bomb.
We had to wait a few minutes to be sited but it was worth it. The menu is quite extensive but has options for everyone. I loved the fact that they have clear options for people with dietary restrictions and/or on a strict low-calorie diet. Neither me nor does my date had any and we were very happy with the food, both taste, and portions. On the pricer side but it's worth it. I wish it was quieter but seems impossible given the number of people dining in on a Friday night!
I've been to harvest a lot. Was disappointed in this one in that I really wanted Margarita flatbread but they would not make it, at least that's what the waiter said. I don't think he asked. Seems strange since the others are always happy to accommodate a request.
Once again we enjoyed excellent food at this restaurant. We appreciate the local sourcing of menu options. Our friends, first-time diners here, agree with us that the food is very tasty!
This time, we were less impressed by our waiter that we received. This is uncharacteristic of our past experiences. We dIne here frequently. frequently. It remains one of our favorite restaurants.
We had asked for a quiet table and were given a booth in one of the quieter areas of the restaurant. The Fall menu was nicely diverse with something for all. We like Harvest because we always seem to be able to have a choice of selections despite our strict low fat, low salt diet. The warm squash salad was very good with quinoa, farrow, cranberries and nuts and was perfect for the cold wet day. Love to see those whole grains used. The turkey chili was crammed with meat; nicely hot (chili); and had a very faint smoky flavor that was terrific ... I think I found a new favorite. Pear and blue cheese flatbread was outstanding. Our guests were equally well pleased.
We dined for brunch on 11/12 and the food was phenomenal. The homemade English muffins were the highlight of the meal. We liked it so much that we returned on 11/19 expecting a similar experience. This was not the case. On 11/19 the English muffins tasted like stale, hard, nearly inedible bricks that resembled grocery store bought items that were past their prime. Sadly, we won’t be returning soon after this visit.
We always have a great meal and a fun time here. Our daughter is a vegetarian and likes the interesting options available. I often order a vegetarian dish myself because there are several good choices. The service is always great, and this time was no exception. Our server was Veronica and she was fabulous. Love the little desserts!
The service and atmosphere was terrific. Ian took great care of us and was attentive but in the background. Everything was great except the food which is a shame.. It was just ok. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked and the shrimp noodle bowl was sweet rather than fresh or light, zesty or spicy. Anything would have been preferable to sweet. The beer on tap and the wine selections were awesome. Overall a nice place to go, but choose your dishes wisely.
I had a reservation at 6:00pm for 4. After asking if there was a problem and seeing clean tables open...at 6:30 she sat us at the bar st a high table. We couldn’t even hear our selves and asked to be moved. We were finally seated at 6:35 for a 6:00 reservation. VERY DISAPPONNTING. Will not go agsin
The service was amazing, our waiter checked back on us at perfect times, gave us space and time but still came back enough to make sure we had everything we needed. The food as always was delicious. You would never guess that it is part of a chain. The restraunt has a great aesthetic; rustic with a touch of modern. The restraunt was energetic but not to the point where you can't hear the people at your table. The cheese plate was superb and the steak was fantastic: cooked perfectly with just the right amount of caramelized crust on the outside. As a chef myself I can appreciate this. Slightly expensive but I was happy to pay it: unlike others I left satisfied with the portions and my experience. I would recommend harvest to anyone who loves food.
We were out with another couple and everyone enjoyed their meal. The size of the main meal, appetizers and desserts were just right. We were pleased with the experience. The only retraction was the frequency that we were asked if everything was ok. That was a bit much. Still I recommend Harvest Grill.
I discovered this restaurant to take my vegan/ vegetarian wife out for a date. We both really enjoyed our meals. They had plenty of options for her to choose from and I ordered the 12 oz. aged sirloin with a side of scallops. They were amazing. Would definitely come back to explore there ever changing menu!
Very noisy, but food usually makes it worth putting up with noise. Veal special was disappointing - pasta was heavy and didn't show sauce to good advantage. Barramundi preparation was excellent but spices and sauce became suffocating. Spouse couldn't finish fish because of flavors.
