   My friend took me to lunch for my 70th birthday. We were both impressed with the care that was taken with COVID 19 into consideration. Nothing on the table. The sliced Brussels sprout salad was excellent! My husband and I finished it for lunch today.

   Normally, I love this place and we had good cocktails and dinner this night, but it seemed really noisy - usually it isn't. However, maybe people were just happy to get out of the house (coronavirus time) and were energetic about it. We enjoyed our evening and will definitely return.

   This was only my second time at Harvest, but because of its high ratings and the fact that we had fussy eaters from out of town as our guests, we decided to give it another try. Generally I don't give restaurant reviews, but I decided to this time. First for the good news.... There were four of us, and three of us had the short ribs which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and was told by our waiter were their favorite menu item. I had the 3 blackened fish tacos and thought they were an embarrassment. The fish (what there was of it) was stone cold in three stone cold shells. Their could not have been more than 2 small bites of fish in each of the three shells. Covering the fish was a likewise cold and spicy red sauce mixed with tiny diced tomatoes and that was it. And, when did spicy equal blackened? Really? I thought of making a stink, but was afraid our guests might be embarrassed and its not in my nature to stir things up. That is why I am doing it via this review. Sadly I saw many others having their fish tacos delivered to them as well, and wanted to yell at them, "before its too late, send them back, send them back"!!

   Great job, out of town guests impressed. Mix up on salads, try putting dressing on top vs bottom. Wrong salads given to wrong people.

   Harvest is truly a neighborhood gem. Interesting and varied menu with tempting choices for all. Very nicely prepared dishes. Great bar and ample wine collection. Sit outside and enjoy the view of the Catalinas.

   I noted that the volume was good. We were outside which is my preference for sound levels. We only had entrees and all were good. I wasn’t very hungry and my HUGE salad was overwhelming. I was glad to share it with my husband. They have a consistently good kitchen and the one time we had a less than stellar experience (a couple years ago) I called the next day, told them about the problem and it does appear that it has been fixed. When I have a complaint, It’s not because I want something for nothing; it’s because I want them to get better and be their best!

   The staff was tremendous. The location was OK. The view was very nice from the patio area. The lunch menu was not extensive, but adequate. The food was good and the sweet potato fries were the best ever. There was a very reasonable split plate charge of only $1.00. The portions were generous.
