Food and drinks are delish. We wanted the tavern menu but didn’t know they don’t have,it on Saturday night. So it was a very expensive dinner.
My wife and I go there every year for our anniversary. As usual, the food and service was top notch. This is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants.
It was a half hour drive but well worth it for an amazing Valentine’s dinner. Upscale yet warm and welcoming. Gourmet price fix dinner was outstanding.
As usual, the food and atmosphere were excellent. Given that it was Valentine's Day, the fixe prix menu was somewhat pricey.
Delicious menu options with wonderful wine list. Piano in the main room was lovely but quite loud to dine in the same room. Tuna appetizer and NY Strip and Salmon main dishes were delicious. Service was ok. I needed to request more bread, silverware, and water refill on several occasions with reminders. Regardless, I look forward to going back.
Wonderful waitstaff! The food was out of this world! Great wine! Beautiful ambience!
The mid-winter menu is very recent and offers up some very nice choices. I had an outstanding spinach salad and the chicken entrée.
First time at this establishment, place seemed to have good reviews online. I must say, my wife and I were not impressed with the ambiance, service, and the food. This seems like a place for older retired folks not millennials going out for dinner. Food wasn’t that great, portions are small, food had no flavor. For the price you pay, quality, and service didn’t not match. Not sure why this place is rated so high, but we will not be returning.
piano was very nice, but too loud to hold a conversation in the bar area.
Thank you to the team at Harvest Moon Inn. We had a wonderful evening in a beautiful venue, piano music, great food, great service and great friends.
Harvest Moon is our go-to place for special occasions. And it just seems to get better and better. Absolutely fresh, seasonal ingredients artfully used and enticingly presented by knowledgeable and unobtrusive servers. And all of this offered in a charming early 19th-century stone manor. It doesn’t get better than this!
Reservation was for Dining room. Was seated in bar. Host shower his displeasure to us as to how things were going that night. Service was off- slow to get drinks, had to ask for bread, etc. Not worth the $$$f
WE recommend this restaurant to all our friends, the food, service is always top notch. The presentation of the food is always amazing and we go there often.
A tad pricey, but worth it. The food was excellent, the staff excellent, service excellent. The look of the place inside and out is very nice.
Happened to be in the are and decided to try it. Exceeded our expectations. Large eclectic menu and friendly staff. Get the carrot ginger soup.
Another outstanding meal at the Harvest Moon! Even though they had a party of 37 people in the back room, the service was still excellent and friendly. Everyone working there has a very pleasant demeanor.
Always consistent and delicious! Very inventive and attention to detail is fantastic! Great time.
Dining at Harvest Moon is always excellent. The food is beautifully presented and always very delicious. The ambiance is lovely with background piano music and the service is impeccable and friendly. Very delightful dining.
Great ! !!!
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner and were very impressed. It was not your conventional turkey platter. There was a creative twist on the turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing and all were delicious. Amazing mushroom soup to start and we finished with a very inventive “turkey” mousse which was actually chocolate and hazelnut. We will definitely return.
Host moved us from the bar area to the dining area because she realized three women out want to talk to each other and the piano player was loud in the bar. We appreciated that greatly.
Charlie is a most welcoming host and bartender. We enjoy our visit with him as well as the superb dining experience.
The restaurant was very romantic customer were very friendly food was outstanding included was dessert. We had the peanut
Brownie. The plating was outstanding. The serve was very poor. My wife ask for extra roll, we had ask two times. He gave us menu
But did not go over specials, we ask for tea and we waited a while for it to arrive. I know the waiter was running short on help. All in all I would go back for and other dinner.
A simply charming dining room, attentive service and a gourmet meal. The menu read like a home cooked holiday dinner, rich and comforting but it was the carrot-ginger soup that stole the show for me. Most enjoyable was that we were able to converse comfortably with the piano playing in background. We did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. Highly recommended.
Restaurant is very pretty and romantic. Pianist was wonderful. Food took way too long to arrive. At least 1 hour. Waiter was friendly and accommodating. Caesar salad dressing was not fresh. Duck was delicious.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. Thank you for a great experience.
Delicious duck special; a slight change from the one on the new autumn menu and it was cooked perfectly!
They hate customers and don’t want people to come. Crazy for a nice place like this, but they do not like it when you show at 7:30. They also do not answer the phone and loudly talk about it. The bartender slams things to make sure you know he does not want you there. The old saying: “the fish stinks from the head”. The owner must know that this is going on as it is costing him / her business.
Where do I begin? As we walked in the piano player was so loud it was impossible to hear the person next to you. I felt bad for the people even closer to him than my family. The waiter, Jonah was horrible. It took some time for him to acknowledge us and when he did he seemed rushed and unapologetic. Then the real wait began. We ordered drinks and eventually got them and ordered our meals. Three simple pasta dishes and a hamburger along with a salad and an appetizer. The salad and appetizer came out in a somewhat acceptable amount of time but the time between clearing those plates and the main course was totally unacceptable. There was a time of 30 mins at one point where there was not one person that came to our table. We had to ask the hostess about our food. Our glasses sat empty without a single inquiry about refills. Then after asking our food came out. It was underwhelming to say the least. My wife, whose birthday we were there to celebrate, had clams with linguini and they were so sandy that they were almost inedible.
My wife and I went Harvest Moon almost 20 years ago the night I proposed to her. It was our special place when we had something special to celebrate. I thought this time we would bring the kids to show them the place where mommy and daddy went after I asked her to marry me. After this experience I’m sure they are wondering why mommy said yes!!!
Where else can you get homemade yeast rolls like only your Grandmother used to make? Homemade pasta? Fresh greens in your salad picked from the garden on the premises? An amazing array of top- quality produced, REAL foods. Go try it out. We can’t wait to go back try the pizza (also homemade crusts!). Yum!
Harvest Moon is one of the finest dinning venues in central New Jersey. The menu selections are always superb and prepared to perfection by the chef/owner. The service is excellent and the piano player on Friday and Saturday night is a special treat. Take a moment to view the landscape filled with flowers and the vegetable garden. Harvest Moon is our favorite restaurant for a fine meal.
Very nice, on the pricey side .
A small glass of soda , Full of ice $3.50
We consider Harvest Moon to be one of the finest restaurants in this area. As always, everything was tops in our most recent visit. You always take notice when we're celebrating our wedding anniversary, and we appreciate that. Special thanks to our server, Jonah, who took very good care of us.
Wonderful experience all around! The food was excellent and the staff was as well!
Great food! Always fresh local ingredients. Great ambiance with piano music as well as great staff.
This was the best restaurant meal I have had in many years. The pork dumpling first course was bursting with compex flavors. The scallop and shrimp main course may have been the best seafood dish I ever had. The sevice was great.
We enjoy the friendly service and the wonderful food. Charlie the Bartender prepares excellent cocktails to accompany a delightful diner. Desserts are always a treat. This is must go place!!!
Eight in our party and we had a very good dinner. Noise level from the piano player in the tavern area was way too much while in the tavern, and also somewhat annoying in the dining room. Food was good. Tuna dinner is a very small portion of tuna with an abundance of vegetables. I think when you order a tuna your dinner should consist mainly of tuna and complemented with vegetables. Pork dinner on the other hand was as it should be a very good size portion of pork and complemented with vegetables. Also since we were a party of eight, we were not allowed to order (or even hear) the specials of the evening-I thought that was strange. Overall very good.
Friendly, welcoming, professional service; delicious food
