Always new, always good! Plus they have the prettiest sommelier:)
I had a rib-eye steak on my birthday...was top 5 steaks I've ever had in my life. Had a group of 7, everything was delicious.
An excellent restaurant with a weekly menu that features local products.
Service is the best! Food is always wonderful.
We have eaten here many times and the food is always absolutely delicious. The service is excellent. I have only good things to say about Harvest Moon.
Food was delicious.
Just delicious! Very accommodating. We had a 2 year old with us and they couldn't have been nicer!
Wonderful food with a daily menu change using fresh and local ingredients. A hidden gem in the Sonoma square that I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to go to for a taste of the local Sonoma food and wine.
All was quite good except for major flaw: both my entree pork chop and my wife's entree lamb dish were both over-salted and over-sugared. This is not usual here. We are locals and have eaten here many times. Hope some chef there gets this message.
Good food and service but the hard surfaces meant that diners' voices carried and so it was quite noisy despite there not being any "rowdy" tables during our visit.
Fabulous food and service!
Sat outside in the heated patio and had an amazing food experience!! Thank you Harvest Moon! We will be back soon!
A great meal with great ambiance & service.kzuofskurzufxifxigd
Ordered rib eye steak au poivre... cut of steak was not up to cost! Expensive meal not worth the price. Atmosphere and service were good.
We visited the week before and had a splendid meal and service so returned with our neighbors. Three of the four entrees were almost inedible. Two Steak au poivre were horribly salty and drenched in oil/butter as were the sides. Husband barely touched his, neighbor as well. We took it home for dogs, then decided against using it and threw it out. Order of “bucatini” with smoked trout and veggies was actually spaghetti and swimming in oil, I barely touched. The fourth person ordered lamb and it was good. Service wa tushed and inattentive.☹️
One of the best restaurants in Sonoma. Cozy, great food, wonderful staff.
We had that lamb chops and the pasta, the food and service was good just extremely slow.
Yummy food, good wine list, excellent service and location. Interior a bit uninspiring and dark, but works fine for a small gathering who likes to dine by candle light. Could add a few more main courses to the menu for a bit more variety.
We are locals and find ourselves joining friends here sometimes. The hospitality is so consistently lacking that I always promise myself that I will never go again. It’s not personal, it just seems that it is the diner being eaten there, rather than the food. The place exists for the staff, not for the customer. Though you could request that you would be in the romantic Leese Fitch Adobe, you will likely find yourself In a plastic tent out back that amplifies the sound to painful levels. The food is actually quite good, but you will enjoy it more if you take it out to the Plaza and eat it in the cold rain.
Amazing server, great food, highly accommodating to food allergies
Experienced a wonderful Valentine’s Day meal with great food and attentive service. This is one of our favorite Sonoma restaurants.
Our reservation was for 7:30pm and they were so backed up that our table was not ready until after 8pm. We did not receive our main course until after 9pm. No one came over to apologize even after we complained. It is our favorite restaurant in town and we go there 5-10 times a year. After this experience we going to have to take a break.
So overbooked for Valentine's special dinner. We and many others had to wait until tables were cleared to get dinner. Food is always great, but it shouldn't overshadowed by the wait. Not so happy about it.
I’ve had exceptional dinners there in the past but was dissapointed. The flavors & overall quality of the food was mediocre on this night
Wonderful. H/T to the chefs, Mauricio, and the entire staff.
It was an excellent meal and service, as always. My son and I eat there often, and we have never been disappointed. We are fortunate to have them in Sonoma.
Harvest Moon is our go to place for great food. I have some food allergies and they always take care of me. The ingredients are clean and perfectly prepared. Just love the place
Harvest moon was enjoyable as always. Never disappointed here. Daily menus, great food, great service, great drink selection.
This was our second time visiting the harvest Moon Café. The food is delicious the ambience is romantic. Great for every day meals, and special occasions. You can tell the owner takes great pride in good service and really good food. Whenever we are in Sonoma we make a point of coming here for dinner. We will be back again!
Harvest Moon = Top 3 restaurants in the town of Sonoma - end of story - book it now.
Harvest Moon is the culinary child of a husband & wife team with true foodie pedigree: Nick & Jen Demarest, the chef and pastry chef respectively, hail from Chez Panisse (Berkeley) & La Toque (Napa).
We're fortunate to eat out frequently throughout the Bay Area . . . and know and appreciate food and enjoy overall dining experiences.
Tonight we shared the . . . Shaved Fennel & watermelon radish salad with avocado, sweet drop peppers, tarragon and smoked trout ($14.95) = Amazing !
My wife enjoyed an appetizer (for her entree) the . . . Slow-cooked beef & pork Bolognese with pasta al Ceppo, truffle oil, fried herbs and Parmesan ($14.95) = Fantastic !
I consumed the . . . Chicken, sausage & white shrimp Étouffée with braised greens and steamed saffron Basmati rice ($26.95) = Wow - can you say comfort food !!!
The menu here changes daily, although they do keep some of their staples consistent, just prepared a different way that evening. Late in the day you can check their website to see if tonight's menu is posted yet . . . to preview your game-plan for that evening if desired.
Cozy casual dining with great service, fantastic bread & butter and water glasses that are kept full . . . and a fun/approachable wine list that's not out of control . . . offers a wide selection and at great prices (imagine that). Tonight we brought a nice bottle of Brown Estate Cabernet - their Corkage is $20.
If you can't get in here . . . Cafe La Haye . . . or . . . Girl & the Fig . . . will work culinary magic.
This place is a gem. Our favorite restaurant in Sonoma by far. Always great service and outstanding food.
We ate here our first night in Sonoma. We were seated out in their patio which has heaters and thick 'plastic walls' so you're sort of outside but not really. It is early February but being from Canada we wanted to enjoy being outside as much as possible! It was wonderful. Service was excellent, as was the food and the local wine!
Friendly but average service. No gluten-free alternatives. Cramped dining room. Food was fresh and tasty.
Fabulous good, world class service... and Kelsey. We love going there and seeing her, she's really really great.
Usually food is very good. I had the chicken and my daughter had the fish stew. Both were not to good this time.
indoor seating tables are very uncomfortable. have patio open, every day you are open
The food here is excellent and we like to take friends from out of town here but tonight we waited an hour for our meals and were offered not much more than an apology. When we asked for something for the inconvenience they obliged but I would say they really couldn’t handle the Saturday rush.
Spectacular meal, as always. We're unable to check out more restaurants in Sonoma because Harvest Moon changes their menu daily, uses only local, sustainable ingredients, and has chefs that are true artists. Why go elsewhere? Our foodie family from Chicago were blown away. The outside garden is such a lovely environment, and the service is always spectacular.
Waiter seemed distracted, I asked him to recommend a wine with my appetizer. He brought me the wine, but forgot to put in my order for the appetizer. They started bringing out the entrees, so I told him forget the appetizer. The entrees didn’t come out together either, which was bad. The first served was a steak dinner and then over about a 5 minute period the rest of the food came, bad expoditing. The food was decent, but the sauce for the flat iron steak tasted strange, so I scraped it all off. It was supposed to be horseradish but it tasted like lemon. I thought maybe it was rancid. Finally we finished and got the bill. Then he told us that the $20 corking fee would be waived if we ordered a bottle off the menu. He didn’t mention that a half bottle didn’t count, even though it cost $28. We had to put our foot down, finally he removed the fee.
The service was very slow overall. I doubt I would go back.
Harvest Moon is consistently awesome, our go-to in Sonoma (which is saying a lot) when we want a delicious night out.
Food was perfect. Fantastic waiter. A little noisy.
LOVED the pate~
