We are locals and find ourselves joining friends here sometimes. The hospitality is so consistently lacking that I always promise myself that I will never go again. It’s not personal, it just seems that it is the diner being eaten there, rather than the food. The place exists for the staff, not for the customer. Though you could request that you would be in the romantic Leese Fitch Adobe, you will likely find yourself In a plastic tent out back that amplifies the sound to painful levels. The food is actually quite good, but you will enjoy it more if you take it out to the Plaza and eat it in the cold rain.
Our reservation was for 7:30pm and they were so backed up that our table was not ready until after 8pm. We did not receive our main course until after 9pm. No one came over to apologize even after we complained. It is our favorite restaurant in town and we go there 5-10 times a year. After this experience we going to have to take a break.
So overbooked for Valentine's special dinner. We and many others had to wait until tables were cleared to get dinner. Food is always great, but it shouldn't overshadowed by the wait. Not so happy about it.
I’ve had exceptional dinners there in the past but was dissapointed. The flavors & overall quality of the food was mediocre on this night
Wonderful. H/T to the chefs, Mauricio, and the entire staff.
It was an excellent meal and service, as always. My son and I eat there often, and we have never been disappointed. We are fortunate to have them in Sonoma.
Harvest moon was enjoyable as always. Never disappointed here. Daily menus, great food, great service, great drink selection.
This was our second time visiting the harvest Moon Café. The food is delicious the ambience is romantic. Great for every day meals, and special occasions. You can tell the owner takes great pride in good service and really good food. Whenever we are in Sonoma we make a point of coming here for dinner. We will be back again!
Harvest Moon = Top 3 restaurants in the town of Sonoma - end of story - book it now.
Harvest Moon is the culinary child of a husband & wife team with true foodie pedigree: Nick & Jen Demarest, the chef and pastry chef respectively, hail from Chez Panisse (Berkeley) & La Toque (Napa).
We're fortunate to eat out frequently throughout the Bay Area . . . and know and appreciate food and enjoy overall dining experiences.
Tonight we shared the . . . Shaved Fennel & watermelon radish salad with avocado, sweet drop peppers, tarragon and smoked trout ($14.95) = Amazing !
My wife enjoyed an appetizer (for her entree) the . . . Slow-cooked beef & pork Bolognese with pasta al Ceppo, truffle oil, fried herbs and Parmesan ($14.95) = Fantastic !
I consumed the . . . Chicken, sausage & white shrimp Étouffée with braised greens and steamed saffron Basmati rice ($26.95) = Wow - can you say comfort food !!!
The menu here changes daily, although they do keep some of their staples consistent, just prepared a different way that evening. Late in the day you can check their website to see if tonight's menu is posted yet . . . to preview your game-plan for that evening if desired.
Cozy casual dining with great service, fantastic bread & butter and water glasses that are kept full . . . and a fun/approachable wine list that's not out of control . . . offers a wide selection and at great prices (imagine that). Tonight we brought a nice bottle of Brown Estate Cabernet - their Corkage is $20.
If you can't get in here . . . Cafe La Haye . . . or . . . Girl & the Fig . . . will work culinary magic.
This place is a gem. Our favorite restaurant in Sonoma by far. Always great service and outstanding food.
