I'm so glad we went here fo dinner. It met and exceeded all of our expectations. The service was exceptional.
First visit for me and my husband. Atmosphere and service was perfect as we dined with great friends we hadn't seen in a while. We will definitely be back!!!
My husband and I were hosting a Mother’s Day dinner last Saturday night with my mother and sister and other family members traveling to Newport Beach for us to all to be together and we wanted them to experience the beautiful scenery at the Ranch. We were so disappointed and embarrassed to host them at a place that was truly ill equipped. We arrived early to have a cocktail outside before dinner and listen to some music. No one came to take a drink order or provide any kind of service. That’s okay it was a beautiful setting and they have a walk-up bar so we got our drinks that way. Then we went in for our dinner reservation and were seated right on time. Unfortunately it was downhill after that. We ordered drinks and dinner. First course came out timely but then we waited and waited and waited for our main course. We reached out to the waiter a couple of times (he never came to our table unless we tracked him down). He said it would be seven minutes and the kitchen was backed up. We waited and well over 7 minutes passed. By now we had been at the restaurant about two hours. We finally were disappointed enough that we told the manager we were leaving. We stopped on the way home to get pizza. Special evening ruined. So disappointing. First time we have ever walked out of a restaurant because of poor service.
I ordered the whole branzino and it was the best fish that I have ever had.
I chose Harvest for Mother’s Day weekend because it looked serene and it got good reviews, but it was packed, loud and the service was terrible. Very disappointing. Perhaps during the weekday you might have a different experience, but with so many large parties and being set next to a large family of 15 with kids running around the table it was hard to enjoy what we hoped would be an intimate time with mom.
Didn’t love my dinner but loved the ambiance
The ambiance, decor and service was great. But the food was terrible. You would not expect the food to be as bad as it is, at a place like this. The menu sounded promising, but when the food came, it was really bad. I’ve heard about the bad food here from numerous friends, but when we heard they revamped the menu, we had higher hopes. But unfortunately it didn’t pan out. If you come here, come for the drinks, but that’s about it unfortunately.
We were staying at the property and had heard good things about the restaurant. The wait staff were excellent. There was a new menu that looked great. I had the Branzino which i have always loved anywhere i could get the "whole" fish. i asked the waiter not to put vinegar on the salad as I have an intolerance for it. To acidic for me. So the chef put tons of lemon. I guess it never registered with the chef that lemon and vinegar are both acidic? In addition, I finally found out how to ruin Branzino. Over design the preparation.
Instead of letting the beauty of the flavor of the fish come through, this chef stuffed the fish with fresh veggies which had the effect of hiding the flavor of the fish. What more can I say. Nice menu, questionable prep. The problem is that once someone is turned off after spending a fairly good amount of money, they aren't likely to come back. That is the case with me.
We love dining at Harvest. The food is always excellent. We love that they truly use local products like fish right out of local harbors and produce from their own garden. The service is always impeccable. The setting is stunning. It's very nice and not stuffy. A great place for any occasion or none at all.
We had a great time. Great meal. Great service.
We came here because friends recommended Harvest. I ordered a roasted carrot salad with shrimp. I got 4-5 small leaves of lettuce, about 6 halves of carrots and 4 shrimp. The cost was $20! Ridiculous! My husband had a chicken breast with broccolini. No potatoes or rice. Friend's burger was good and came with fries. Other friend had French onion soup which came with burnt cheese, and a side order of delicious brussels sprouts. Expensive meal which left us hungry. Service from Carrie was outstanding on the positive side. We will NOT be returning.
Wonderful birthday dinner . Will definitely be back again .
Our waiter, Sal, made our evening so special. It was our anniversary and I wasn’t feeling great. He took care of me, if us, and his elegance and attention made our evening so special. Both my husband and I agreed that because of him, everything turned just so special. Thanks Harvest for Sal! More than a 5 star service! Beyond words.
Beautiful Setting, excellent food and our server, Sal, was quite the professional. We totally enjoyed our experience!
Enjoyed the outdoor venue prior to being seated for dinner.atmosphere, service and food was
The location is gorgeous...centered in the valley of the coastal mountains right off PCH. Noise level is relatively high so it’s easier to hear one conversation with a small group. Food variety is great with attention to detail. To finish it off, the “last piece of apple pie” dessert is delicious with a fun presentation. Wine list is good but as expected, is very expensive. Will definitely go back.
We dine every week with family and friends at Harvest.
Food is delicious! All the staff are respectful, efficient and effective, from valet, bartender, waitstaff.
Beautiful views and venue!
Beautiful view of the canyon and very serene we loved it, we headed for lunch. We loved there charcuterie platter it was amazing, along with there chicken sandwich, I just wasnt impressed with the French onion soup it was not hot and thick and that type of soup needed to be brothy, but overall it was good.
Beautiful setting and great service! Our waiter Sal was top notch. Everyone’s dinner was excellent except one person ordered the chicken and it was not. Most likely just a rare occurrence.
The food presentation was great and the taste was superb.
Average food, great location
It was an amazing experience. The scenery was beyond beautiful and the interior of the restaurant was so cool. The food was excellent and our server was great! My only regret was not having a room at the ranch. Will definitely go back.
My wife and I went to Harvest with a good friend of mine. I brought a good bottle of wine with me to share with dinner. The Sommelier, the hostess and the server were all very nice, the ambience was great and the food was good. I let the Sommelier taste the wine and he waived the corkage fee. A great night at a great place. We will be back!
Chance was great
Food and Service were excellent. Menu is interesting and healthy. We sat outside and it was so relaxing and a beautiful view.
Love this place! Great service and food. Feels like Ritz meets a lodge.
Great evening celebrating Easter and birthday! Sal was amazing server. All the food was excellent. Sweet spot.
We had Easter lunch and enjoyed our time there. Food and service were great. Diffinently will be back.
A wonderful place to enjoy very tasty and well prepared food with plenty of different options. Only negative was the noise level became annoying but it was a holiday weekend and it only takes a few very loud parties to spoil it for the rest of us.
This is our second time at Harvest ... Food was great, atmosphere inside and out was beautiful and the service was very attentive and kind. We will be coming back again in the near future.
Tristan was the PERFECT SERVER! Thanks for a fantastic and memorable evening.
Great restaurant for any occasion day or night. We live close so we visit often. Very creative and good food!
This was our first time trying this restaurant and we will definitely be back. The food and service were great. Everything tasted fresh and we really liked the atmosphere. We came for my birthday and they brought a little pot of pudding with a candle in it. Parking was also very easy!
The food is fresh and delicious and you cannot beat the ambiance. Love this place!
We were celebrating a birthday... had such a special day at the Ranch. Harvest was incredible- Manny our server was over the top - can’t wait to go back.
We choose Harvest at The Ranch for our business lunch and we weren’t disappointed. The food and service was great. The menu selection was diverse. The location is breathtakingly beautiful. It was the perfect venue for our meeting.
We celebrated a birthday at lunch time. The carnitas tacos were so delicious! The birthday dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was exceptional as well. A wonderful experience overall, complete with a beautiful view!
Celebrating birthdays. Philip was amazing
This was our first time to this restaurant. The food was good. The service was good. The best part was the view. We sat outside on the patio and it was a nice day.
Great location and ambiance. Good food but pricy ($35 for a sandwich and a soft drink). Destination or special occasion dining. Indifferent and poorly managed wait staff (we had 4 different people covering our table so hard to know who was supposed to be taking care of us; had to ask 3 people for a straw).
