I have been dining at Harvest since 1973 and this was my best meal ever. The seasonings, and the presentation were outstanding. The service was friendly and prompt. That atmosphere is European and cozy. Our top restaurant in Cambridge and for that matter the US.

On this occasion, Harvest was not any better than average for food ( overdone), service ( waiter may have not served food immediately) and disappeared several times. Usually this a local place I love to visit and do so frequently.

Harvest is a perfect hideaway that avoids the “noise” of Harvard Square - with good food you’d expect from a restaurant with white table cloths. “Relaxing.” “Comfortable.” “Tasteful.”

Haven't been to Harvest in a while and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Great restaurant in Harvard Square with an interesting and delicious menu! Everything was fantastic and the desserts were outstanding, creative and beautiful! Glad we made the visit...will be back on our rotation!

Outstanding food. The courses tasted wonderful and had some innovation on old standards. I got the venison leg on a pumpkin polenta and it was surprising and delicious. The dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD - 'candied' apple which I cannot possibly begin to describe. It was stunningly beautiful and tasted even better than it looked. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Boston.

Excellent meal. Rare that a restaurant can remain so vital and forward-looking after decades, and also rare for a restaurant to maintain such an excellent kitchen for so long. A very, very good choice.

This continues to be my favorite 'go to' place in Harvard Square, as the experience is always consistent on many levels: Ambiance, Food, Service. This time, it was a business dinner, and Tim made me look like a rock star for wine choices (It was all him!). Thank you, Tim!

Harvest never disappoints. The food is always tasty and the service is friendly and efficient. My friend and I were there for lunch. She had the lentil soup, and I had the French onion. We shared the housemade buratta and beet salad. And we enjoyed a cappuccino. Everything was delicious.

Very nice menu, food well prepared, and service was exceptional. Hard to talk about ambience, as we were seated towards an end, I think. It kind of winds around, so hard to say exactly what the ambience is. The prices are moderately expensive. It seems like a special occasion restaurant.

Dependably good food and service. Unlike the trend to "lively" (read loud) settings, Harvest remains a good place to converse while eating in pleasant surroundings.

Hadn't been there for at least 20 years, and it was even better than we remembered. Tim was an excellent server, and sent the manager to the wine cellar to find the special bottle of wine we ordered - and he did! Sitting outside in November was a treat too!

The appetizers and main entrees were all perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. Much creativity. The crowd that comes to Harvest is the academic button-down WASPy group so don’t expect a dowsing evening. Just plain excellent food and fine service. Dinner will run you with wine about $100/pp. I thought the desserts were just so so. Nothing really to write home about.

We were greeted in a friendly, pleasant fashion, given the best table in the place, and cosseted with great, thoughtful service. The food was wonderful. Everything arrived promptly and perfectly prepared. There was a birthday involved, and the chef rearranged the dessert to write Happy Birthday in chocolate and include a candle. Everyone had a wonderful time. It couldn't have been nicer!!

I have been celebrating special events at Harvest for some 40 years now, and it never disappoints. It had changed through the years, but has maintained its quality, its welcoming atmosphere, and its wonderful food through every iteration. A Cambridge treasure! Long may it reign.

Harvest has been around for a long time, but never gets old. It's upscale, but not overwhelmingly so. It's favorite spot for Harvard administrators, faculty and parents. The atmosphere is animated but not too lively, and there are quiet corners, as well as great outside seating. The Caesar Salad (with added shrimp) was delicious, with a drizzle of balsamic, and the other salads looked delicious. Everything was fresh!

Had to give a "poor" for ambiance, because after we elected to sit outside the hostess brought us to a table that was directly over a vent for sewer gas. We commented to the waiter and he moved us, saying that often happens after it has rained. Every other table on the outside patio was available, so I don't know why they would even use that particular spot.

Sunday evening after Head Of The Charles we have come to love the tradition of the Harvest for dinner. We end our volunteer shifts and walk along the Cambridge side of the Charles and enjoy the calm, flat water reflecting Anderson bridge where just a few hours before the fastest boats in the world were competing in the Championship events. Now it's twilight and we head toward The Harvest to relax with a beautifully crafted cocktail or glass of wine and then a fabulous meal. It is the perfect conclusion to a wild and busy ( and FUN) weekend of racing . See you October 21, 2018. Until then....

Four of us were eating together. The main courses -- lobster pie, pork chop, sea bass -- ranged from breathtaking to very competent, in that order. The tortellini appetizer was not really edible -- undercooked tortellini served in a broth designed to generate instant edema. When we told the waiter we didn't much like it, he immediately took it away, brought us a superb green salad, and removed the charge from the bill. So overall, a really pleasant experience despite one underperforming dish.

Good restaurant in Cambridge which is not as lively as the usual haunts in the area and therefore a place to go for conversation. Service is helpful and food is wholesome with a touch of the trendy. They handle well tables of 7 and above. A little bit serious but that is a good thing if taking business colleagues for a meal. I took a group of overseas visitors which worked well. The menu is small but thought out. Choices included Venison, Chicken, Sea Bass and Lobster. Steak was also available. All nicely presented. Also portions are not overwhelming which is far more appetizing that dishes over flowing with food. You have a pleasant dinner without feeling that you have climbed a mountain.

Very good. Service was great. Love the ambiance. Just wish they would have paid a little bit more attention to the delivery of the food. No sooner were the appetizers finished the entrees arrived immediately thereafter. For this level restaurant they need to pay attention to the spacing of the meal.
