    I do not recall who was our server, but she was excellent. I am sure you could find out as we made a reservation. At no point did I have to ask her for anything. Great hire!

    I have enjoyed Harvest in the past but last night was an exception. We were seated near the noisy kitchen at a table where the lights were out/ not functioning. I ordered a glass of wine which was not poured at the table and it was a fair bit warmer than room temperature. They did offer me another glass. The ribeye steak was a cooked rare as we asked but very fatty - about 1/3 of a 16 oz steak was fat. I like a well-marveled steak but this was excessive. All in all - not the best experience and I’m not sure I will return.

    Great food and good wine selection. Our server, Francisco, was excellent and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. He was also friendly and attentive. A great place to have pre-theatre dinner.

    Food was great, ambience was good, service was pretty terrible. Our waiter was the worst - couples who came 20 minutes after us were served. He tried to make up for it by being constantly apologetic - but was late in each and every item he served us

    This afternoon we had the absolute pleasure to have Alex G as our server at Harvest. From the moment she introduced herself to us until we left the restaurant, she was attentive, genuine, and always had a smile on her face. One of the people in our party has a gluten allergy and the chef has apparently been trying out some new gluten free rolls, so Alex made sure to bring us a couple of miniature rolls to try (the rolls were fluffy and not at all gritty like many gluten free bread products have a tendency to be). We ordered a cinnamon bun to go (a must try item at Harvest!) and she gave it to us with reheating instructions handwritten on the top of the box. All of our food was spectacular- we had eggs benedict, french toast, and the best impossible burger in the Boston area. This was our first time at Harvest but Alex made us feel like regulars. We are already looking forward to returning.

    Still the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner - we were celebrating a friends' wedding anniversary - the restaurant was great about special requested touches such as menus without prices, decorative writing on the dessert plates, etc. The food was varied, fresh and delicious as always and we sat outside on the beautiful patio with a roaring fire behind us. A truly special and memorable evening.

    3? 4? Different waiters, none experienced, though the last one was very friendly and tried hard. Some was very poorly cooked, other not fresh. Not good. (And patio renovations of a number of years ago, destructive of original beautiful patio, only get worse with age.)

    As always, the food was delicious (stand-outs: cold cucumber soup and lobster spaghetti) and the service was very good, attentive but not oversolicitous or pretentious. We were a party of seven, and we could all hear each other, talking across the table was no problem.

    We're new to the area and happened to walk by Harvest, so I took a chance and made a reservation for a date night. I'm so happy, we went: excellent food (we had the stuffed squash, fresh oysters, rack of lamb, and duck bacon pasta), and the service and ambiance were perfect for a date night and a nice meal with friends.

    Sadly both the menu options and food quality were disappointing. Harvest came up in a search for vegan. When we asked the server about options, he said “Not much, that’s a tough one”. The “special order” plain pasta with vegetables arrived bland with little sauce. The vegetable tarte was cold in the middle like it needed more reheating time and the overworked crust was so stiff it was hard to cut. The grilled zucchini was cooked well, but the handful of pistachios sprinkled on top were whole and difficult to eat, the addition presented like an thought. On the tomato salad, we asked to substitute legumes in place of cheese. The salad showed up with no cheese, but no legumes. When asked if they had anything, they offered lentils. They arrived 15 min later. By then, the salad was gone. My fault for not looking past the name to vet the menu more closely. Not a very bountiful Harvest for my guests.

    It would have been lovely to have a little bit more "real" vegetables to accompany the bass and not only carrots and pickled (?) onions. Probably some more mashed potatoes would also have been appreciated. But the fish was very good.

    Our meal was not good and we've been several times when it was good over many years! It was a special occasion and the 4 of us were disappointed. My husband took one look at his wilted salad and sent it back. We had three of those salads, all with less than fresh lettuce. My son and I ate ours. This isn't the first time salads at Harvest have been bad! I sent one back awhile ago. It's sort of insulting to put that on a plate and serve. I had salmon, the fish was cooked well (but the server didn't ask me how I liked salmon, luckily I like it cooked through because that's how it came) but the rest of the items on the plate had no flavor and were not warm. The cheese plate looked like a mess as if it were thrown together and the raspberries didn't seem like they had been washed. The cheeses (3) were sloppily cut and there were not many crackers. My two sons had steaks. My husband had the burger and seemed happy with that. I continue to think of the Harvest as a special place, but last night's meal was minimally acceptable and I'm not a foodie. Where is the quality control? My husband's salad was replaced with fresh looking lettuce. Isn't that the way all of the salads should have been?

    I had a tomato and hummus salad which claimed to be much more, but all other ingredients were tasteless. I also order a pricey filet mignon tartare which was utterly tasteless and literally to have no meat in it. Also, the service was very slow.

    Dessert (peach cobbler- which was actually very hard dry tasteless cake with 3 very hard pieces of peach) not good. Restaurant did not charge for this $17 disappointment.

    This is our favorite restaurant in New England and it never fails to live up to that standard. The food is delicious, innovatively prepared, and fresh. The serving sizes are totally appropriate - not huge but more than enough for such elegant and complex flavors and presentations. The stone fruit cheesecake is the best dessert I've enjoyed in memory. The service, ambiance, and location are top notch. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

    It was fine. Food was solid, but not super exciting, and we felt rushed out by our server at the end of our dinner (otherwise polite/fine). Ok if you need a nice restaurant for an event, but there are definitely others in the area with better food and service.

    The patio was dirty, outdated, the floor was messy, cushions were musty and stained. The ambiance almost made me want to leave, completely lifeless. The food was mediocre, and the cocktails and servers were the only ones who made the experience somewhat bearable. I’m very sorry if I seem harsh, but I was expecting so much more from Harvest =(

    Harvest is a Cambridge institution we really want to love. So we keep going back, expecting more. The ambiance is lovely, but the food often falls disappointingly short of “wow!” It’s good but not spectacular, and for the high end pricing and promising atmosphere you’d expect Harvest to deliver more.

    Saturday at 5:30 PM it was not very busy, service was great, our server was helpful with descriptions of the entrees, was very attentive. We go there for the very unique and delightfully tasty offerings, The chef is a genius!

    Harvest was a great experience for myself and my girlfriend celebrating our anniversary. I included that in our reservation we were coming for our anniversary and they congratulated us upon arrival and our waiter was eager to ask us about it and congratulate us as well. The food was delicious. Stuff I thought I’d never like tasted delightful and the portions were not small by any measure. We had the stonefruit carpaccio which was tremendous. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would recommend this place highly to anyone looking for a fancy dinner date.
