The patio is wonderful. Just a comfortable non pretentious place but classy
Have visited many times of the years and always enjoyed everything. The service, waiters etc, were terrific. Unusual menu, a little rich, possibly would like to see just one simple dish.
Excellent food, service, ambiance, BUT received an email afterwards saying I would not receive Open Table points with no explanation why! Open Table should have stipulated this before I made reservations
We had Sunday brunch for my mother’s birthday here yesterday, and sat on the patio. It was a little loud, only because there was a giant party at a big table nearby. That notwithstanding, it was an excellent experience. Our waiter was fantastic - sensitive to a food allergy issue, attentive, and even going so far to correctly identify the birthday girl based on my slipping her her birthday card. He brought out a celebratory dessert with a candle. He really made the experience!
The food was excellent and fresh. Highly recommend!
Iconic Harvard Square restaurant with delicious food and knowledgeable service. Doesn't get better than that.
Service was amazing and the food was delicious !
My server Jasmine gave outstanding recommendations!
Wonderful, creative food, beautifully served, medium noise, so we could talk, excellent service, historical place. My mushroom angelotti were slightly too salty. The other two persons were completely happy with their food choices. Recommended.
Harvest is a consistent gem that remains on the forefront of Boston's very best restaurants, even after almost three decades. It is hard to believe that it is even better today than it was when I first ate there. But it is.
This was our first time dining at Harvest. We were pleased that it lived up to all the hype. The food was outstanding. Dishes are creative with great flavors. Excellent presentation. It is always satisfying to leave a restaurant saying it was as good as we expected.
Nice personal service. Interesting menu with a twist - and a good twise! I thoroughly enjoyed the devils eggs and the special (lobster ravioli) was also fabulous.
We were warmly welcomed, seated promptly, and our wait person, Kevin, was terrific. One of the three of us wanted to make some substitutions to her lunch and Kevin was gracious, positive and very patient. Then I stupidly poked myself in the eye and he brought ice very nicely tied up in a double napkin.
I’m a former waitperson and my friend was a professional chef for many years so we are generally very critical of the food we are served; everything we ordered was simple, beautifully presented, flavorful without killing our tastebuds, and FRESH. My selection, the quinoa chili, was superb: perfect portion size, amazing flavor and totally satisfying. And again, Kevin dealt masterfully with us, keeping up with the three languages being spoken at the table and never for an instant losing his cool or making us feel that we were asking too much.
Although I’m a lifelong Bostonian, this Sunday visit might have been my first to Harvest, as strange as that may seem. However, I have been singing Harvest’s praises since that meal, and will continue to do so. As Arnold Schwarzenegger said in that movie, “I’ll be back!”
Always great and so for nearly fifty years.
Keep up the great job.
We went to Harvest for my birthday and my moms birthday celebration. We had an amazing meal! The service was great and very attentive. All of the dishes we ordered were not only delicious but also very well presented. The lobster ravioli were the best I’ve ever had!! Will definitely be visiting again!
Food was creative, delicious and presented beautifully. Service was excellent and not overbearing. Loved the open kitchen. Biggest challenge for me is the fact that there were only 2 women working there and only in support roles...kitchen and wait staff was dominated by men...strange to be that tone deaf in this day and age. Hopeful that will change soon...
Table of 8, each a self proclaimed food critic and everyone was pleased.
Dinner at Harvest is always wonderful. I hope it remains here forever with the beautiful ambience and great food.
Harvest looks good from the outside, but I found it to be expensive and pretentious. Service was extremely slow, and the waiter kept forgetting our orders. The sangria, which was highly recommended, was very similar to the pre-mixed bottles you get from the grocery store. It had very little alcohol and tasted like bad apricots, yet it cost $14 a glass. The presentation of the food is good, but the taste is average at best. You can do a lot better than this place!
Lovely lunch on the patio. I had the vegetarian chili -- it was delicious, very flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their meal and service was excellent.
Appetizers and entree were wonderful. Desserts not outstanding. Beer list a bit short. No aquavit liqueurs available for after dinner drinks. Service kept us waiting a couple of times.
We were here for brunch on Fathers' Day (also my husband's birthday and our daughter and son-in-law's anniversary). The food and service were excellent. It was cold in the room when we arrived and our server got the air conditioning turned down to a comfortable level. It is classic Harvard Square and a great place to celebrate.
We dined for Father's Day brunch at Harvest and absolutely loved it. We had oysters to start which were wonderful. The lobster eggs benedict was fabulous as were the other dishes that others had. The service was also outstanding. Looking forward to returning soon for dinner!
Wonderful Father’s Day brunch. Food and drinks were excellent. Our waitress was extremely gracious despite our impression that they may have been short staffed (took a bit before she was able to get to us). Definitely planning to go back again.
What a lovely meal in such a wonderful setting. Can't believe I have never been to
Harvest before, but I will certainly be back...
The Bloody Mary was very disappointing...served in a tiny glass with no olives or celery!
The table next to ours had celery, olives, etc.
This is my only complaint...
What a fantastic experience!! Very attentive waitstaff and wonderful food! We had the carrot side and the broccoli side. Both with just the right flavors. The roasted carrots had a harissa and goat cheese topping. The broccoli had a pesto with Pecorino cheese. I had the spring onion risotto which was perfect. My family had the lobster ravioli with asparagus and fennel! All of it wonderful. I can't recommend this place highly enough!! Will be coming back soon.
Very consistently good!
Our waiter was prompt and attentive. Food arrived quickly. Carrot appetizer was very good as was swordfish. Heater on above table on patio- a bit warm but not too much heat.
Wonderful in every way.
Great food with attention to detail. Very nice presentation. Servers seemed to figure out the tempo that we wanted, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the meal. If we had wanted faster, I think they would have accommodated. My only complaint is that the beer selections did not move very far beyond a selection of IPAs. I would like to see more of an effort to pair good local beers with the locally sourced food.
Good food but we waited a verily long time for main meal.
The manager, Rebecca is truly lovely and accommodating. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful and understood our time constraints.
The young man who sat us was helpful and kind. All of the staff were friendly. The cocktail choices are fun, and they will make a brandy alexander adding ice cream. Sides big enough to share.
A favorite place for us when in Cambridge.
Still crazy enjoyable after all these years. Miraculously Harvest keeps its edge and appeal. Over several decades we've enjoyed the food, the space, the sense of place. Even if we had no history with the Harvest, it's still one of the loveliest dining options in the city.
An amazing dinner! For our anniversary and we got a nice chocolate script added to our dessert that said “Happy Anniversary”.
The in house made whole wheat sourdough is delicious.
The rosemary fries were so good - really strong rosemary flavor and served with Parmesan shavings.
The beet pasta was delicate and tasty. The fresh mint and parsley was a good touch.
Food was fresh and tasty, good half bottle wine list, patio was lovely and spot on service from Jasmine.
We have had three birthday lunches a year at Harvest for several decades!!
Many dishes exceptional, but a few sub par for standard you would expect in that price range - example hard and stringy carrots in the carrot appetizer, oyster half size of normal, etc. If this were a less expensive restaurant I would give it a 5 rather than 4. We’ve had better food and service at $ restaurants than at this $$ restaurant. It was still very good, but not exceptional.
The interior is very outdated, and the service was overwhelmed on a busy evening. The food is good!
We went for Sunday brunch, and the food and hospitality were excellent. We were greeted by the manager who immediately seated us. The wait staff was very attentive but not annoyingly so. The manager and assistant manager came over to make sure things were going well. We started with a pastry board of apple tarts, cheese scones, and chocolate babka. I'm not much of a pastry eater, but even I enjoyed the tart and the scones. We both had the salmon over quinoa and it was excellent. We also had their grand mimosa - a mimosa with a little Grand Marnier added - very tasty. All in all a great dining experience.
