Love Haruno’s sushi, it’s consistently very good. Our server last niight was very kind. The thing I have noticed about Haruno is that their service is consistently very very slow. It doesn’t seem to matter, which server it is . I don’t know if they are just shortstaffed or if they purposely go slowly so that you will have an enjoyable slow experience. I guess it depends on personalities my husband and I personally don’t wanna wait that long between the drinks and the salad and soup and then the entree . Overall it’s a great experience food wise atmosphere wise and the staff is nice. Just a little slow!

Great food as usual. Tiny bit noisy and I felt we got a little less for the money but it was overall great.

We enjoyed a booth set for four people. Our drinks and salads were so delicious. The small plate option is a plus. 8 wonderful sushi rolls provided just enough for everyone. The atmosphere was great. Our server Chris is so great. We always request his section.

So I don't think Haruno was particularly good, in fact, it was bad. But it may have been my own fault. I took my grandson, because that's where he wanted to go (he has been a few other times and likes it a lot). But I couldn't care less about sushi, and from what I saw, it's all they do well. Both our dinners came with both soup and salad. The salad was pedestrian, basically a big big bowl of lettuce. The lentil soup was all but inedible. Even the kid thought it was subpar. Wes had a chicken teriyaki dish. He's a kid who believes in cleaning his plate. He didn't eat half (now by then he had had a sushi app that he ate by himself, so maybe that had something to do with it). When I asked him about it, he said he didn't like it very much. I had a filet so bad that I should have complained about it, but the kid was having a good time and I didn't want to throw cold water on it. The steak had been pieced together from three leftover pieces. Two of the three were nothing but gristle. Inedible. So my 8-10 ounce filet was reduced to 4 good bites. The sushi might be great. But nothing else is. Caveat emptor.

Overall a very solid choice. Even with reservation if it’s a weekend you may still wait 20min. Food and staff overall great. Probably the best choice for Springfield MO.
