On May 13, 1931, Giuseppe Cipriani opened Harry's Bar in Venice. Over the years, Harry's Bar has become the place where writers, painters, artists, aristocrats, kings, and queens would meet. Among them were: Barbara Hutton, Katherine Hepburn, Gary Cooper, Giancarlo Menotti, Peggy Guggenheim, Orson Welles, Frank Lloyd Wright, Joe DiMaggio, Truman Capote, and Ernest Hemingway. The keys to the success of this small bar were: service, freedom, and lack of imposition.

Throughout its 93-year history, Harry's Bar has witnessed the 20th century in Venice. Its importance was also recognized by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which declared it a national reference point in 2001. No other public place in Italy had received the same award in the same century.

Piatti tipici veneziani eccellenti, rispetto della tradizione. Elegante e raffinato. Vittima del proprio successo… molti/ troppi clienti . I tavoli sono molto molto ravvicinati… Ci ritornerò per passare una serata elegante piacevole e per degustare di nuovo il risotto! Cocktail buonissimi !

The service was over the top!!' The food was amazing! My husband ordered the duck roast and he said he had never tasted anything like it! I was a little more American and ordered the beef filet. The food, service, and atmosphere was well worth it! Highly recommended!! We will be back!!

an iconic place with some really old history definitely recommend coming here the drinks are fresh and food unforgettable i will add tho some food items i did not expect to see on this menu it was a nice surprise

I would not recommend Harry’s. Plenty of very nice places such as Giddy Palace, Gio, etc. They were also on the rude side.

I was a bit disappointed that even though I had written on my reservation that it was my birthday I was sat in the middle of the room so close to other tables that the waiters hit my head twice. I asked to move tables and the maître was very keen to do so, unfortunately he moved me right next to the door where I was forced to witness and hear everyone who came in and left the place . Apparently there’s more than one dining area, I had a table at the entrance which is rather loud due to the bar being in that area. I had the famous carpaccio and it was good, cuttlefish in squid ink sauce and polenta and that was very good , a glass of white Italian wine from Piamonte that was good and a Bellini cocktail as dessert which was excellent (not too sweet and absolutely balanced). The bill was 181 Euro, a bit pricey for the whole experience in my opinion. The staff were absolutely wonderful , neat, respectful and very elegant when serving. I’m afraid it’s not a place I would recommend except for being a part of culinary history. There are restaurants and Osterias in Venice which offer amazing food for quite a lot less.

Would not recommend - over priced and horrible service. If you’re thinking about stopping by for a quick Bellini I would recommend skipping - there are so many amazing places to enjoy in Venice and Harry’s Bar has been over hyped for too long.

Truly some of tge best food in all of zitsly let alone Venice - its actually underrated for the food vs the cocktails (which are also spectacular)
